~ Chapter 40 ~ Best Friends Always Figure Their Way Out Of Conflict!

~ Furina's Perspective ~

I walked into Neuvillette's office not wanting knock as he wouldn't let me in anyways. But when I walked in I saw him on the floor of his office sobbing uncontrollably as his antennas pulsed a very strong dark blue.

He didn't hear or see me walk in so I just decided to kneel down and stroke his hair.

He then gasped and looked up as he saw me. Behind him on the floor as well.

" Well, what happened to you." I asked stopping to stroke his hair

He never answers but just looked away continuing to sob.

I took a deep breath as I needed to recite some words to calm him down.

" Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon.. Do not weep, for if you tell me the problem I can fix it." I spoke softly

" H- He left me.." He replied still sobbing.

" No he did not." I spoke sounding sure

" Yes he did. He stated in his words that he never loved me.." He spoke still crying

" Again False news." I replied sounding even more sure

I then sighed with a smile, as I knew Wriothesley was going to come back for Neuvillette.

" Come here Neuvillette." I spoke Sitting up on the floor holding my arms open

He then sat up and looked at me tears in his eyes.

" It would be disgraceful of me to do such Furina, as Iudex i-."

" You're not a Iudex right now, But a simply, Hydro Sovereign who needs a bit of comfort." I interrupted

He hesitated at first but crawled into my hug.

" Wriothesley didn't leave you I promise." I spoke

" I hope I can believe you.." He replied starting to calm down

After I did this the rain got calmer but never stopped. That must atleast make it easier for Colette to talk to Wriothesley.

~ Colette's Perspective ~

I walked outside the Palais Mermonia noticing the rain calming down. I then turned to find Wriothesley sitting on a bench crying and crying hard, each tear that came out showed me he was in an unbearable amount of pain.

I went and sat next to him pulling him into a hug, he immediately pulled away from the hug and turned to me in shock his eyes wide and his jaw slowly opening.

I just looked at him with sorrowful eyes and spoke.

" Why did you do it?" I asked sounding a bit worried

He just looked at me and was about to start crying again from the amount of pain he was in, but before he could do so, I took a cloth from my pocket and wiped his tears

" Wriothesley, Why did you do it." I asked again

" I- I-.. You were right." He whispered

I simply looked at him in a bit of confusion at his response.

" Y- You were right.. H- He was ch- changing me.." He finished

As soon as he said this I realized this was all My Fault. I told Wriothesley Neuvillette was changing him..

" Wriothesley.. Please I never meant any of that believe me." I spoke

" You may have not meant any of it.. but it doesn't make what you said a lie.. I Punched You Colette! While saying some pretty ugly words to you as well. And it so happens that this behavior comes when Im together with Neuvillette. It had never happened before a- and I can't have it happening again!" He explained

After he said that I realized what a mess I had caused. With my words I caused Wriothesley to overthink and believe that Neuvillette was a bad influence on him..

I Am Truly A Useless Best Friend Am I?

" All those words I said and all you said to me now doesn't exist anymore.. including the punching.. were leaving it in the past and were never going to come over that topic again Alright?"

" But I-."

I reached out to hold his hands as I spoke this.

" Wriothesley. You and Neuvillette are perfect for each other. Whether or not he has a bad influence on you, I don't care! Wriothesley you are Neuvillette's pillar of strength. He needs you in his life or he will not go on with life, he needs you Wriothesley.. He's a Young Little Sovereign.. waiting for his companions guide! Please Wriothesley, Don't ever leave Neuvillette!" I begged still holding his hands

He then looked up at me with shock in his eyes as he had to process what I just said.

" Oh Colette! What On Teyvat Would I Do Without You!!" He exclaimed while pulling me into a hug

I didn't get time to react or speak as I was immediately grabbed into a hug. But as I was be I hugged I heard him speak.

" Colette, Thank you! Thank you! Again! I'm at a loss for words to explain how grateful I am for your great friendship. Your steadfast support and counsel have been a continual source of strength, particularly as I navigate the difficulties of my connection with Neuvillette. Colette, your ability to listen while providing insightful counsel is something I greatly appreciate! I also admire your genuine concern and politeness in every connection with me, Whether I'm angry, upset, or well happy.. You are always there in times of uncertainty or when I need a trusted person, while also being ready to share your knowledge and understanding of my situations. Your friendship is a true gift, and I treasure the link we share. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend! Your presence in my life adds so much richness and joy to it! I'm glad for every time we've spent together! While I also look forward to spending much more time with you!" He spoke sounding grateful

I pulled out of the Hug turning to him with tears in my eyes..

" My my.. who taught you to use words so beautifully Wriothesley.." I spoke about to cry tears of happiness

" It's just something I've picked up from being with Neuvillette often.." He said chuckling

" Im glad. Thank you for saying those words to me Wriothesley... wow.. I never thought I would be hearing that from you.." I spoke smiling at him

He smiled back but the smile started to fade as he remembered something, But I knew exactly what he was thinking about.

I stood up from the bench soaked from the rain and pointed towards the Palais Mermonia's doors.

" Go get your Little Sovereign back." I said smiling opening the doors for him

He then looked up at me.

" W- What if he doesn't want me back.." he said looking a bit in despair

" Trust me. He wants you back as soon as Possible." I replied chuckling

He then stood up and seemed he had a bit of Confidence. As he walked through the door I whispered in his ear.

" Please care and look after your companion will you?" I said whilst smiling

He nodded lightly and gave me a small smile back before entering the Palais Mermonia. He then walked towards Neuvillette's office giving it a knock.
