"My lady?" Xie Lian exclaimed.
Lan Chang's face was white as a sheet and she couldn't utter a single word. Suddenly, it was like something in her belly exploded, and the abdomen that was flat before swelled into a large ball, almost ripping that long dress part, and rolls of black smoke were leaking out of the seams.
Many winced at the sight while some paled.
"I applaud her," Yizhen said. "it's obviously painful but she was willing to endure it for her baby."
"A mother's love is really different," Jun Wu agreed.
Some frowned at his comment.
The female ghosts were loosening their hold but Lan Chang held on to her belly with a death grip, yelling in alarm, "STOP MESSIN' AROUND!"
"...I feel bad for her, she just wants to take her baby back," Banyue said. "Will she be punished?"
"She will for endangering the entire city," Hua Cheng nodded firmly.
'And for acting badly towards Gege,' he added in his mind.
"Okay," Banyue nodded.
She might feel bad for the ghost but she knew that every action has consequences. She chose to steal the baby so she must face the consequence of it.
It was that fetus spirit in her womb that was thrashing about. Hua Cheng said calmly, "Gege, stand back."
"It's fine!" Xie Lian exclaimed.
"Your highness, you should listen to the crimson rain more," He Xuan decided to speak. "Many would be saddened if you get injured or die."
Many nodded in agreement as Qing Xuan nodded furiously, "That's right, tell him!"
Lan Chang fell to her knees on the ground, her face twisting with agony, "LISTEN TO ME! BE GOOD! JUST BE GOOD!!! STOP MESSIN' AROUND!!!"
"It's a fetus, it won't listen," Feng Xin said although his tone was, unknown to him, more gentle which caused many to look weirded out.
"Lady Lan Chang, just let it out first."
Lan Chang shook her head wildly, "NO! NONONO! I will keep him in my womb and raise him well for sure, he won't go out to harm anyone anymore!
"How can you assure that when you can't even make sure it won't harm you," Mu Qing scoffed.
My lord, please I beg you, don't take my son away. I've searched for him for centuries! Don't take my son away! Don't hand him to those scoundrels in the heavens!"
