The room was silent as the screen turned on, most wondering what would happen next in nervousness while a selected few were excited.

"I..."‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌said.‌ ‌

Before‌ ‌he‌ ‌finished‌ ‌his‌ ‌sentence,‌ ‌he‌ ‌felt‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng‌ ‌squeezed‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌bit‌ ‌of‌ ‌force,‌ ‌a‌ ‌series‌ ‌of‌ ‌pain‌ ‌crawled‌ ‌up‌ ‌his‌ ‌leg,‌ ‌and‌ ‌he‌ ‌couldn't‌ ‌help‌ ‌but‌ ‌shrink‌ ‌back.‌ ‌

"I just told you to shout, Gege, no need to hold it in." Hua Cheng said with a small frown.

"Ah, sorry San Lang, force of habit." Xie Lian laughed a little, not knowing how his words dampened the mood of many.

'How weird, why did I show my pain to him?' he thought. 'Was it really that painful?'

Although‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng's‌ ‌strength‌ ‌was‌ ‌already‌ ‌extremely‌ ‌controlled‌ ‌and‌ ‌this‌ ‌little‌ ‌bit‌ ‌of‌ ‌pain‌ ‌was‌ ‌nothing‌ ‌to‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian,‌ ‌but‌ ‌for‌ ‌some‌ ‌reason,‌ ‌in‌ ‌front‌ ‌of‌ ‌him,‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌seemed‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌unable‌ ‌to‌ ‌hide‌ ‌away‌ ‌his‌ ‌pain.‌ ‌

Xie Lian nodded in agreement as some wondered how much pain he hid from them.

"You should be more open, general Hua." Ban Yue scolded. "It's bad to hold your pain in."

Xie Lian just awkwardly smiled, knowing he would never be able to show his pain again.

Maybe‌ ‌it‌ ‌was‌ ‌because‌ ‌of‌ ‌what‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng‌ ‌told‌ ‌him‌ ‌beforehand‌ ‌and‌ ‌he‌ ‌tried‌ ‌too‌ ‌hard‌ ‌to‌ ‌hold‌ ‌back‌ ‌and‌ ‌it‌ ‌backfired‌ ‌on‌ ‌him.‌ ‌

'Possible.' Xie Lian thought with a nod, believing it to be the reason.

Sensing‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌shrinking‌ ‌back,‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng‌ ‌instantly‌ ‌held‌ ‌his‌ ‌ankle‌ ‌tighter‌ ‌and‌ ‌reassured‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌soft‌ ‌voice,‌ ‌"Don't‌ ‌worry.‌ ‌It'll‌ ‌be‌ ‌over‌ ‌soon.‌ ‌Don't‌ ‌be‌ ‌scared."‌ ‌

"I won't be scared of you, San Lang." Xie Lian smiled at him which he returned.

'Really?' he inwardly thought. 'Promise? Will you really not be fearful if you knew...'

Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌shook‌ ‌his‌ ‌head,‌ ‌but‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng's‌ ‌hands‌ ‌had‌ ‌become‌ ‌even‌ ‌gentler,‌ ‌his‌ ‌hand‌ ‌operating‌ ‌speedily,‌ ‌and‌ ‌when‌ ‌he‌ ‌raised‌ ‌it‌ ‌again,‌ ‌that‌ ‌tiny‌ ‌little‌ ‌needle‌ ‌was‌ ‌already‌ ‌extracted.‌ ‌"Alright,‌ ‌it's‌ ‌done."‌ ‌ ‌

"Thank you for being gentle, San Lang." Xie Lian told him.

"No problem, Gege." Hua Cheng smiled.

'As if he would be rough to you.' Pei Ming thought with bored eyes. 'He'll never hurt you.'

Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌focused‌ ‌his‌ ‌eyes‌ ‌and‌ ‌saw‌ ‌the‌ ‌tip‌ ‌of‌ ‌that‌ ‌needle‌ ‌was‌ ‌glistening‌ ‌with‌ ‌vicious‌ ‌poison.‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng‌ ‌closed‌ ‌his‌ ‌five‌ ‌fingers‌ ‌and‌ ‌crushed‌ ‌it‌ ‌easily‌ ‌into‌ ‌a‌ ‌small‌ ‌waft‌ ‌of‌ ‌black‌ ‌gas,‌ ‌dissipating‌ ‌into‌ ‌the‌ ‌air.‌ ‌Seeing‌ ‌this,‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌put‌ ‌aside‌ ‌all‌ ‌his‌ ‌discomfort‌ ‌and‌ ‌commented‌ ‌soberly,‌ ‌"What‌ ‌heavy‌ ‌air‌ ‌of‌ ‌grudge.‌ ‌A‌ ‌typical‌ ‌fetus‌ ‌spirit‌ ‌shouldn't‌ ‌have‌ ‌spiritual‌ ‌power‌ ‌this‌ ‌strong."‌ ‌ ‌
