HO HO HO, MERRY CHRISTMAS! I originally didn't want to publish this earlier than my intended schedule but...well, it's Christmas so here's my present for all of you! ^_^ hope you all have a great day!

Ch.54:‌ ‌In‌ ‌the‌ ‌Cannibal‌ ‌Lair;‌ ‌Ghost‌ ‌King‌ ‌Faces‌ ‌Heavenly‌ ‌Officials‌ ‌

Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌turned‌ ‌his‌ ‌head‌ ‌to‌ ‌look‌ ‌at‌ ‌that‌ ‌dejected‌ ‌looking‌ ‌kneeling‌ ‌statue‌ ‌and‌ ‌said,‌ ‌"Qi‌ ‌Rong‌ ‌was‌ ‌right‌ ‌about‌ ‌one‌ ‌thing.‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌quite‌ ‌the‌ ‌failure."‌ ‌

"You aren't!" many immediately protested as they frowned at the prince's low esteem showing again.

"What has he experience to feel like a failure all this time." Mu Qing murmured. "I doubt the fall of his country is enough to make him shatter like this."

'But it's possible.' Yushi Huang, who heard him, thought as she recalled the kind-hearted prince who tried looking for her determinately in the past, his eyes glowing with love for his country.

"Don't‌ ‌believe‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌words‌ ‌of‌ ‌a‌ ‌useless‌ ‌trash‌ ‌like‌ ‌him,"‌ ‌Hua‌ ‌Cheng‌ ‌said‌ ‌gently,‌ ‌"Other‌ ‌than‌ ‌being‌ ‌good‌ ‌at‌ ‌not‌ ‌dying‌ ‌and‌ ‌running‌ ‌away,‌ ‌he's‌ ‌got‌ ‌nothing‌ ‌else‌ ‌going‌ ‌for‌ ‌him.‌ ‌He‌ ‌can't‌ ‌even‌ ‌level‌ ‌up‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌'Supreme'‌ ‌after‌ ‌eight‌ ‌hundred‌ ‌years.‌ ‌Even‌ ‌beating‌ ‌him‌ ‌up‌ ‌would‌ ‌only‌ ‌dirty‌ ‌hands."‌ ‌

Hua Cheng looked proud of his future self's words as he completely agreed with it. Why does the prince need to beat himself up for the words his useless cousin said? Gege should just listen to someone successful in life, like him who would always praise him for his courage and bravery.

Xie‌ ‌Lian's‌ ‌lips‌ ‌jerked‌ ‌upwards,‌ ‌thinking‌ ‌wasn't‌ ‌he‌ ‌also‌ ‌the‌ ‌same?‌ ‌Only‌ ‌good‌ ‌at‌ ‌not‌ ‌dying‌ ‌and‌ ‌running‌ ‌away,‌ ‌even‌ ‌after‌ ‌eight‌ ‌hundred‌ ‌years,‌ ‌he'd‌ ‌only‌ ‌gotten‌ ‌so‌ ‌far‌ ‌himself,‌ ‌which‌ ‌was‌ ‌nowhere.‌ ‌

"No, you helped me." Qian Qiu murmured. "Without you, I would have already died when I was twelve."

'You also helped me.' Mu Qing and Feng Xin thought.

"Also me, General Hua!" Banyue shouted, Pei Su nodding in agreement.

"Yes," he agreed. "without him, we would have already been dead."

"He might not have been successful in achieving much for himself but he has made great changes to others." Ling Wen said.

At‌ ‌first‌ ‌when‌ ‌he‌ ‌saw‌ ‌Lang‌ ‌Qianqiu‌ ‌as‌ ‌the‌ ‌martial‌ ‌god‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌east,‌ ‌ranking‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌high‌ ‌heavenly‌ ‌official,‌ ‌but‌ ‌maintained‌ ‌his‌ ‌old‌ ‌character,‌ ‌still‌ ‌straightforward,‌ ‌still‌ ‌falling‌ ‌asleep‌ ‌in‌ ‌boring‌ ‌meetings,‌ ‌he‌ ‌felt‌ ‌rather‌ ‌comforted.‌ ‌

Qian Qiu just closed his eyes, too tired to cry. Why was he blinded to the point of not knowing who loved him and hated him?

Yet,‌ ‌from‌ ‌now‌ ‌on,‌ ‌who‌ ‌knows‌ ‌how‌ ‌he‌ ‌would‌ ‌change?‌ ‌He‌ ‌went‌ ‌in‌ ‌pursuit‌ ‌of‌ ‌Qi‌ ‌Rong;‌ ‌once‌ ‌that's‌ ‌done,‌ ‌how‌ ‌would‌ ‌he‌ ‌end‌ ‌things‌ ‌with‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian?‌ ‌ ‌
