"I mean, what's the point? They only talked to me once-"

"The point is for us to have an advantage over that stupid furry."

Zud looked away as Loaf glared at him, arms crossed.

"You've already found your power. The next step is to follow what I say."

Zud curled his hand into a fist, white sparks emitting from his skin.

"It's going to be hard, isn't it?"

"Terrible." Loaf said honestly, shifting a foot.

They both sat inside Zud's house, the rain battering the windows and roof. It was quickly lightening outside, though- the clouds were disappearing.

Then, Loaf flinched and put a hand to his head.

Zud stared at him as he let out a low groan.

"Are you okay? Is someone doing it again?" He asked worriedly, standing up.

"Worse." Loaf hissed, and looked back at him.

His eyes were dark.

"Meddling." He muttered grimly, looking down at his own pale hand. "Meddling again."

"What? Who's meddling? What's going on?" Zud reached out and grabbed Loaf's hand.

Loaf looked away. "This just means we'll have to hurry up and get it done."

He met eyes with Zud and grinned.

"Be prepared."

Zud lay, face up, on the wood floor, panting heavily.

Loaf tapped his foot on the ground.

"That hurt like hell." Zud groaned, and put a hand to his face.

"If I'm going to tell you the truth, you did better than I expected." Loaf cupped his chin with one palm, looking up at the ceiling.

"That was good?" Zud looked at him.

"Yep." Loaf grinned, holding out a hand.

Zud took it, and shakily stood up.

"Ow- How long?" Zud stammered, looking at the window, where the rain had stopped long ago.

"Not long at all." Loaf nodded. "Don't you worry."

Zud smiled at him as he let go of his hand and headed towards the door.

He looked back at Zud, and winked.

"You'll be more powerful than him in no time."

"So, what are we going to do next?"

Sigils paced around the clearing, scattered raindrops falling from the trees.

"We're going to wait."

He glanced sharply at The Chaos Being, who was putting one of their paws to Jerome's bloody chest.

"Wait? Biffle's out there! I'm not waiting-"
