hassan.

the one person who's been on my mind more than simon.

that fucking prick.

we would find him if it was what killed us.

and we did.

we headed up to a big skyscraper in the middle of chicago city, being dropped off by a heli.

ghost and i were on the rooftop of an adjacent skyscraper, matching snipers in front of us.

"repel down johnny, you've got plenty of rope." he joked over comms.

"what floor is hassan on?" soap called.

"don't worry about hassan just yet, secure hostages first." i interrupted, watching soap take out two armed men.

"nice work soap, let's get this win." ghost smirked, recalling their meeting words.

"aye, copy that Lt."

not long after, price and soap had cleared the upper floors of the building and broken in.

"stay vigilant, we can't help you inside." i warned.

"yes ma'am." soap joked, i could see the smirk from here.

"so when are we going to talk about it?" ghost asked abruptly.

"talk about what?"

"us." he broke his stare from the building, glancing at me.

"what about us?" i asked.

"what are we? are we even right for eachother?" he questioned.

"ghost we're on a mission. now isn't the time to define our relationship." i brushed him off.

"well when are we?" he began to grow impatient.

"not now."

"yes now."

"fine then, what do you want us to be?" i asked, breaking my gaze from the building.

"i don't know."

"then why is it so important to you?" i questioned.

"because i'm too scared i'm going to fuck everything up and lose you." he spat, clearly upset.

"simon-"

"no don't simon me now, do you know how long i've been afraid of losing you? since i fucking met you i've been bloody infatuated and there's nothing i can do about it. i can't lose you too Anneliese, i've lost everyone else." he nearly cried.

i sighed and sat up, pulling him into a hug.

"simon, you won't lose me. i promise, i'll never leave you behind." i kissed his cheek through the masks softly.

"you better fucking not." he chuckled, wiping tears from his eyes.

"sarge." soap's voice weakly interrupted us.

"soap? is everything ok?" my focus snapped back to my gun.

"watch the window." he groaned.

i loaded a round and aimed, finding him and hassan in the window.

i watched in horror as hassan went to throw soap out of the broken frame.

"take the shot." ghost ordered.

i aimed and pulled, watching both hassan and soap fall to the ground.

i yelped in fear that i had hit soap instead.

then i saw him get up.

"perfect shot, sarge."

"ghost called it." i smirked.

"all stations, hassan is down, enemy KIA." i called into my radio.

"well done lads, let's get the fuck out of here." price called.

~~~
within an hour we had boarded the flight back to headquarters.
"i'm gonna miss ale." i sighed, sitting on the cool steel ground of the plane.
"you gave him your number, i'm sure he's messaged you by now." ghost rolled his eyes.
"i don't have my phone, it's in with the cargo."
"that sounds like an issue, not an iss-me." he smirked.
"come here you asshole." i smirked, getting up and sitting on his lap facing him.
"get a room." soap groaned.
"oh shut up, it's not like we're fucking."
"not right now, but you have." soap glared.
"walls are thin sarge, walls are thin."
i smirked and kissed simon's cheek, getting up and laying on the ground beside him.
"sleeping again?" soap asked.
"always mactavish, always." i nodded.
