"And we're back to this the main control room, your first mission starts tomorrow. We'd normally have a welcoming party but the team is spread a little thin at the moment." Black Canary said as she lead a fish like boy into the main room where Conner was lifting weights. Meg came out of the kitchen at that exact moment texting on her phone as he floated into the room.

Conner watched as she ran head first into a the boy. "Oh sorry," Meg said quickly helping him back up.

"It's fine, must be someone important." The boy said, "Well not really, my friend just complain about her boyfriend. Not that I don't think it's important to be a good friend-Hi I'm Miss. Martian or Megan but everyone calls Meg." Meg said sheepishly as she brushed her hair behind her ear.

"La'gaan, I'm La'gaan." La'gaan said, nervously.

"Meg perfect timing I have a mission can you show La'gaan to his room?" Black Canary asked, "Love too," Meg said with a smile that irritated Conner.

Conner put down the weights as Meg left with La'gaan. He took a deep breath and pulled out his phone, the wolf phone charm hitting his knuckles as he did. Conner paused and looked carefully at it. He smiled and put it away before going to the storage room and grabbing the oil camping light that was in there.

After a not so quick hike up the mountain he found himself near the top, a spot he had been many times with Lilith. The small square of perfect grass that never seemed to die was waiting for him, he remembered when Lilith grew it. She said the rocks were to sharp. Despite him moving them out of the way so she could stare up at the stars comfortably.

"I'm waiting for you Lil-flower," Conner muttered as he sat down, looking to the star with a rather sour expression.

Conner glared up at the stars, the small lantern he had taken up to the top of the mountain with him flickered slightly and Conner froze. He heard the footsteps but all he could do was trying to breath.

Lilith sat down next to him and bit her lip. Conner didn't even look at her, he barely dared to breath. After an long moment of silence Lilith held out a paper over his face.

"Could you give this to my father, please." She breathed, and Conner slowly sat up taking it from her. Holding her hand for a second before she pulled her hand from his, curling back slightly avoiding looking at him.

"So are we going to talk or-?" Conner started to ask look at her, but Lilith had turned to look at him through her thick eyelashes making him pause. He hadn't seen her do the puppy dog face in such a long time he couldn't help but smile softly as he looked at her.

"I'm-I'm-I'm-" Was all Lilith could seem to say, he watched her hide behind her hair. The bright red seeming to shine in the near darkness.

"Lil-bear," Conner breathed reaching towards her and brushing back her hair his finger brushing along her cheek for a second before she turned away.

"I'm leaving," She blurted and Conner's hand hung there in the air. "For a mission," She continued as he hand fell.

"You can't be serious, you're-you're really working for them?" Conner asked, and Lilith scooted away as she turned to look at him her eyes glinting in the moon light.

"Yes, and by the way they are not evil. They're really trying to save the world," Lilith explained, "And who told you that? Prince or Mayhem?" Conner asked incredulously, "Both," Lilith said, "Lil Mayhem can control people with his words, you believe-" Conner started, "-he wouldn't, not me. Not anymore," Lilith said sternly.

For a second he was lost for words, he could see in her eyes that her actions were her own.

"Come one Lil, you're a hero not a one of them." Conner said, and Lilith's gaze turned to ice in a second.

"One of them?" Lilith repeated in disbelieve, "Conner, they're not evil. They've helped and protected me."

"I would have to, if I had just woken up sooner-" Conner started but Lilith's gaze only softened slightly.

"Oh wonder boy," Lilith said with a heavy sigh.

"I want to help you Lilith, please just stay. Come home, " Conner pleaded, "With you?" Lilith asked, "Yes, I'll protect you I promise," He said softly scooting closer to her, but Lilith suddenly stood.

"I will, soon." She said and Conner stumbled to his feet.

"Lilith please," Conner pleaded, Lilith paused for a second she held out her up her hand stopping him in his tracks. His big barrel chest moving slowly under her touch.

"Why not now?" Conner asked, looking down at her with such intensity she had to look away.

"Because it's not done, after I help save the world I'll come home. But don't wait for me," Lilith said still looking away.

"You keep say you're going to save the world but what if it's all a lie what if-" He paused trying to think, but even Lex seemed to think that Morgana was out doing good. So what if Batman was wrong and she wasn't building a bad machine.

"Something is coming Conner, if I can help I have to. It's what a hero does, and if they lied I'll be the first to shut it down. They can't use it without me," Lilith said softly, Conner took her hand in his.

"I believe you, but why are you making this sound like a good-bye?" Conner commented, and Lilith sighed as he squeezed her hand.

"It's not a forever good-bye, just a 'bye for now.'" Lilith said once again pulling her hand from his.

"You never answered me back today," Conner blurted, before slowly adding, "I think I know now, but I still want to hear it."

"I don't know what you mean," Lilith said pulling away more seeming uncomfortable.

"Lil-bear, please I need to know for sure that you're still you." Conner said, "Of course I'm still me wonder boy, how could you even question that?" Lilith asked looking up at him.

"Because you're not acting like you," Conner said, "I'm not acting like me?" Lilith scoffed, looking up at him fire blazing in her eyes.

"How am I suppose to act Conner? All lovey and start fawning over you just because you said something you probably don't even understand," Lilith snapped.

"I understand plenty, I know what this feels like." Conner said, "Good for you because I don't!" Lilith shouted, then took a deep breath as tears started to well up again and she looked away from him.

"And until I do I'm not going to say something I don't know anything about.  Conner, please. I just wanted to say a proper good-bye. I really don't want to argue," Lilith said her voice shaking.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Conner immediately said reaching out to pull her into a hug before thinking better of it.

"So you'll give that to my father?" Lilith asked, "Is that really a question?" Connor softly laughed making Lilith smile.

"But please don't ask me not to wait for you, because that's one of the few things I can't do." Connor said softly and Lilith couldn't help but smile.

"Oh really wonder boy, that's one mighty short list. No flying, no laser beams..." Lilith trailed off remembering that Connor could fly, he just had neglected to tell her about his little deal with Lex.

She wondered how much he remembered from that day that seemed to have been so long ago.

"Goodbye Wonder boy," Lilith said softly as a portal opened.

"I'll see you soon right?" Connor asked, Lilith just gave him a smile.

"I promise," She whispered, and walked through the portal it vanishing behind her.

He had been so distracted at the fact that it wasn't one of Prince's portals, that he forgot to even wave as she left him alone on the top of the mountain once again. As he paused to look around he saw the flowers that had grown where she had stepped. Where she had sat down there was now a full grown bush of roses.

"You're getting stronger," He muttered, carefully plucking a small rose bud and clutching it tightly in his palm.

"They better keep you safe Lil-Bear, or...Or I'll..." Conner trailed off unsure what he would do if they hurt Lilith. He just knew that what ever the Villains were planning he couldn't stop it if he tried, so he'd just have to trust Lilith.
