CRY, BABY

Sana glared at Camille, "what are you sorry about? What did you do to him?"

Camille only got to open her mouth to reply when the doctor interrupted.

"Good afternoon, I'm doctor Browne. Are you all here for Mr. Cook?" The doctor said and looked around the waiting room.

"I don't know about them, but I am," Sana said.

"And you are?"

"His girlfriend and the closet person to him in this room."

"I see the doctor," replied suddenly, feeling the urge to be prudent with his words.

"Well, nothing showed up on the scanners. Mr.Lee's heart is fine. It's just his blood pressure that hit some peaks for an unexplained reason. There's nothing to worry about, but we'd like to keep him for observation. The only thing is Mr. Cook seems determined to leave."

"Where is he? I'll convince him, doctor," Sana said.

Nor Janet nor Camille spoke. None could pretext being part of his family or friends without Sana barking at them.

"Okay, please follow me."

Sana went alone. She didn't know what happened, but she preferred to hear the story from Lee.

A few minutes later, Sana entered a room just in time to see Lee try to take out his drip.

"Lee, what on earth are you doing?" Sana exclaimed

The man stopped tugging on the drip. His desire to cry on her bosom overwhelmed him before he remembered his mission, "Sana, tell these people I'm okay."

"Mr. Cook," the doctor said. How unreasonable and irresponsible could some patients be, thought the doctor.

"No, Lee, I won't say such a thing. The doctor thinks it's better if you stay here to be monitored, and I think it's the best thing to do too."

"Sana, please, I'm good. I want to go home," Lee pleaded.

Something was wrong. Lee seemed shook, yet he protested.

"Mr. Cook, did something particular happen before you fainted?" Doctor Browne asked.

Something particular bloody well did, thought Lee.

"I want out. Is there something wrong with me? Because if there isn't, I don't need to be here," Lee was on the defensive. Sana knew there wasn't much one could do when he was like that.

"No, everything is fine. You're as robust as a raging ox," doctor Browne said.

The doctor's words triggered Lee, who saw the docile beast. Many forgot why ox males were calm. The secret was one Lee shared. Ox males are castrated. Thus they are obedient. The act tampered with any aggressive reaction.

Yes, an ox was probably his spirit animal. Lee sniffed and wiped his eyes before anyone saw it, but Sana, who had not stopped observing him from the moment she entered, noticed.

"Doctor, can you please give us a minute alone?" Sana asked.

"Sure, I can even give you ten," doctor Browne replied while thinking he could finally grab that cup of coffee he wanted.

Sana waited for the door to shut to speak, "now tell me, Lee. What's going on?"

Lee looked up. The man was glad not to be dead. He hadn't loved Sana enough to leave. He wished to offer her so much more, yet he was powerless in front of reality.

Lying wasn't an option, and omitting was delaying the inevitable that worsened with time.

"I went to my appointment. The reversal is possible, but the outcome is random. The percentage of success decreases with time," Lee said.
