Chapter 13: Planning Again

(Layla POV)

Shashi told me how he survived and how he got back here. I was honestly excited to see him again.

Shashi- Sooo...

Layla- What?

Shashi- How is everything?

Layla- Other than me just getting captured?

Shashi- Yes.

Layla- Good.

Shashi- Anything happening?

Layla- Nope. Not much.

Shashi- Oh.

Layla- What? Were you expecting me to be busy all the time? 

Shashi- Well I mean, you're a spy!

Layla- Yea, we go on a big mission every few months. But that's really all we do.

Shashi- Well, what do you do when you don't have a mission?

Layla- Race, watch movies a million times, just mess around. Ms. Nowhere wants us to practice fighting but that's really all we do.

Shashi- Well at least you get a break.

Layla- Yea it is nice!

Shashi- So how are things with Toretto?

Layla- What do mean?

Shashi- Come on Layla! You're still doing that!?

Layla- What?

Shashi- Pretending you don't have feelings! Acting like nothing is going on!

Layla- Nothing is going on! 

Shashi- That smile on your face when he hugged you says otherwise.

I rolled my eyes, not wanting to have this conversation with him. Not that I really want to have it with anyone. 

 Layla- So what are you gonna do now?

Shashi- I don't really know. 

Layla- I could see if I could talk to Nowhere. See if you could work for the agency. Given you can think like a criminal, you could be useful.

Shashi- Thanks. I think...

Tony walks over.

Tony- Hey.

Layla- Hey, Toretto.

Shashi has a stupid grin on his face.

Tony- What's up?

Shashi- Nothin. Layla was gonna see if I could start working for the agency.

Tony- Oh cool! Nowhere said we gotta start thinking of a way to get Cleve.

Layla- Yea. We would have to think of a distraction.

Tony- What if someone drove in to distract him?

Layla- That's more likely to just cause another chase. Not distract him. 

The three of us stood in silence for a few minutes trying to think of other ideas. 

Shashi- What if you said that one of you was related to him somehow? It could distract him long enough to catch him.

Tony- That could work. But who would we say is related to him?

Shashi glanced at me. 

Layla- Me?

Shashi- Yea! Cleve has 5 sons that he never talks to. If you pretend one is your dad...

Layla- So I would be his granddaughter?

Shashi- Yea.

Layla- I guess that could work.

Tony- Let's go run this past Nowhere. See what she thinks.
