Althea Melody (POV)

The kind couple who gave me a ride have already ventured into the Black Lagoon Forest, leaving me alone outside.

(Should I really follow them inside?)

(What if I do go blind once I step in?)

(But I'm only doing this for my beloved lady.)

"Okay, let's do this... It might not be wise, but it's for my beloved lady. She deserves a happy ending too," I murmured to myself, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves.

"I-I can do this," I reassured myself, mustering up the courage to walk towards the forest. My heart skipped a beat when the forest's guardian stirred and opened its eyes to gaze at me.

"Tiny creature, state your purpose," the Treants spoke, their voices rumbling through the forest.

(You've got this!)

"May I pass through your border? I seek an audience with the mighty dragon, protector of land and sky," I replied, trying to keep my nerves in check as the thought of being devoured crossed my mind.

"Such a polite little creature, isn't she?" remarked the Treants who had addressed me first, his voice deep and resonant.

"Are you really swayed by the charm of a tiny human?" another Treant says.

(Wow, impressive...)

(A talking humanoid looking trees.)

"I can't help it, she looks like a replica of our dear Queen La-" the first guardian male started, but the second guardian swiftly silenced him with a branch strike.

"Don't even utter the Queen's name in this place. It's forbidden," the second guardian male admonished sternly.

(The Queen of this place?)

(I'd love to meet her... if I could.)

"Ah, sorry about that," I apologized as both Treants turned their attention to me.

"Yes?" they asked simultaneously.

"Stop copying me," the first guardian male says.

"No, YOU stop copying me," the second guardian male retorted, and I couldn't help but smile at their banter.

(They're quite amusing.)

"Excuse me, could you tell me about the Queen of this place?" I asked, prompting both Treants to turn their attention to me.

"The Queen?" the second guardian male repeated, and I nodded in confirmation.

"Well, the Queen is incredibly kind and humble. She's like a mother to all beings who reside here," the second guardian male explained, and I couldn't help but smile at the description.

(This is strange... The Black Lagoon Forest was never mentioned in the novel.)

(Is my older sister playing tricks on me?)

(Why are there things here that weren't written in the story? Is this place not important?)

(But why? The mighty dragon Keilbuss resides here, yet it wasn't mentioned in the novel that this is his homeland.)

"Is she beautiful?" I asked, curious to learn more about their Queen.

"Oh, the Queen's beauty is divine!" exclaimed the first guardian male.

"Her beauty is incomparable, and it's quite peculiar that you resemble her so closely, tiny creature," added the second guardian male, prompting me to smile even wider.

(Ah, is he complimenting me, saying I look very pretty?)

"Well, thank you! So, I am beautiful too?" I replied with a smile.

"Yes, indeed. Although we usually don't have friendly interactions with outsiders, this is our first time having such a lengthy conversation with one," acknowledged the first guardian male.

"I'm honored, then. But may these handsome guardians tell me why it's forbidden to mention the Queen's name?" I inquired.

"Well, in our land, there's a tradition that when the Queen passes away after giving birth, her name mustn't be mentioned until her child is crowned as the new Queen by the age of twelve," explained the first guardian male.

"And our Queen passed away about five or six years ago after giving birth to her daughter. So, until her daughter becomes Queen, we mustn't speak the previous Queen's name under any circumstances," added the second guardian male.

"The Queen has a daughter?" I exclaimed with a smile.

(Oh! Looks like I have a powerful new friend to make!)

"Yes, the King once brought the future Queen here. She was incredibly adorable, but it's been five years since the King last visited," the second guardian male said, his expression filled with sadness.

"Don't worry, I'm sure the King and the future Queen will come to visit you again," I reassured them, and their smiles returned.

"Isn't she charming? I can't help but be drawn to her," remarked the first guardian male, and I couldn't help but blush at the compliment.

"She looks exactly like the Queen when she was little," remarked the second guardian male, nostalgia evident in his tone.

"Ah, the good old days," sighed the first guardian male, reminiscing.

"But we understand why the King hasn't visited. It's to protect the Queen from those malicious creatures," explained the second guardian male, his anger palpable.

"Why doesn't the King let the future Queen learn some basic self-defense or leave her here for her safety?" I suggested.

"That's a good idea, tiny creature, but becoming the future Queen isn't that simple," replied the first guardian male.

"Why not?" I inquired.

"The future Queen doesn't possess any special abilities except for super-fast healing. She has the gift of healing others quickly," explained the first guardian male.

"That's the future Queen's only ability?" I repeated, surprised.

"Yes, for now. It's the only ability that's accessible to her. But once she turns twelve and is crowned Queen, she'll be able to wield much stronger powers than anyone else, as the previous Queen was an Enchantress," explained the second guardian male.

(Hold on! An Enchantress?!)

(What on earth!?)

(An Enchantress is an immensely powerful sorceress capable of wielding all sorts of magic!)

(Such a character was never mentioned in my older sister's first novel!!!! What is happening?!)

(Hold on! What's going on?! Did I really alter the plot of my sister's novel like this?!)

(Is this novel causing a butterfly effect?! What in the world?!)

(I remember reading a fantasy webtoon story before.)

(An Enchantress's powers include teleportation, the ability to control fire and other elements.)

(The Enchantress can even cast illusions, has super-fast healing, and can create and manipulate all forms of energy, as well as the ability to fly!)

(I need to find out who the Enchantress's daughter is and where this future Queen lives! I have to become her friend!!!)
