We are Superficials

We are Superficials -

afraid of our own voice's timber,
we are
hiding in silence with a laughter
suicidal over words;

afraid of our own thought's terrain,
we are
programming heads to overheard theories
cynical over incompatible truths;

afraid of our own soul's preaching
we are
convening inside debatable man-made temples
blind fanatics over faults.

We are Superficials -

afraid of our own monsters
we are
constantly fighting from within hearts
clawing a grave for a war.

afraid of our own peace
we are
constantly chasing an ideal
that we never place our faiths on - in the first place.

We are Superficials.
