Y/n's been gone for 2 days. She said she needed some alone time, but nobody has heard from her.

I just need some time, I'm tryna think straight
I just need a moment in my own space

She responded a few hours after she left, but nothing else.

Ask me how I'm doin', I say "okay," yeah

Y/n always says she's okay when she's not.

But ain't that what we all say?

The door opens and Y/n comes inside. Y/n hugs me tightly and I smile.

"I went to see him." Y/n says crying.

"Your dad?" I ask.

"Mhmm." Y/n says.

I gently rub her back and she sniffles.

Y/n's mom died when she accidentally overdosed. That meant Y/n's dad got custody of her again. Y/n always had a rocky relationship with her dad.

When her parents divorced, he started saying she was a disappointment and yelled at her whenever he got the chance. Y/n turned 18 and moved across the state.

I can't figure out why Y/n would want to see her dad.

Time Skip; Y/n's View

"How was school?" Mom asks.

"It was fun, there's a new student and we're friends." I say.

Sometimes I think back to the old days

"His name is Kevin and he's from Canada." I say.

"You have a roommate named Kevin Haines, right?" The officer asks.

"Yes, sir." I say.

"We just found someone matching his description." The officer says.

"He's alive?!" I ask.

He stares and me and slowly shakes his head.

In the pointless conversations with the old me

"Did I do something wrong?" I ask crying.

"No, of course not, honey. Things just having been working out between me and your dad." Mom says hugging me.

Yeah, back when my momma used to hold me

"Am I a disappointment?" I ask.

"What?" Olivia asks.

"You heard me." I say.

"Of course not, baby. There's nothing disappointing about you. I am so proud of you and so happy to be your wife." Olivia says.
