|HOLLY|

In the Streets of Los Angeles, California
February 2015

It wasn't hard to find the California castle. All I had to do was call a cab and ask him to take me where the grandest and most ancient castle there is. He just gave me a confused look but nodded and zoomed me out of the alleyways. I glanced back, paranoid that I was followed but, thankfully, I wasn't.

Cold, scared and awfully alone, I let the cab take me to wherever it should take me. The buildings whizzed past us as I stared out the window, thinking. Where the hell was Calvin? What was taking Gustav so long? Where is Leo? So far the trip to California had been so eventful I'm thinking of never returning here.

Ever.

Suddenly, my mind flew back to the conversation Katrina had with Kevin.

...if the vampire King hadn't knocked the woman up, then she wouldn't be necessary. Should have saved the life of the child...

My heart constricted with the thought. Would I have saved my child if it wasn't with Calvin? Was I just an accessory to everything? In the end, whose safety would I value more? I pursed my lips at the thought.

...besides, I heard the vampire council wanted to shift the responsibility to a vampire lord as well. I guess they realized that a lycan can't be the one for the vampire King. I mean, even I think they're not meant to be...

If any possible, the words struck my heart more and more. I know the vampire council doesn't approve of the news. I know Calvin, me and his generals are the only ones that approved for the child but to say those words? No, Holly, you don't even know if it's true! My subconscious said and I shook my head in response. That's right, I shouldn't judge. Calvin loves the child and I do, too. The council has no say to whatever goes on with us.

I held my head high as I waited for the cab to arrive at Lorraine laRoche's castle. The buildings around seem to disappear as the ocean can to view; the trees multiplied and the cab entered the highway close to the cliffs, magnifying the beautiful ocean. The moon shone like a reflection against the glassy surface of the water and I couldn't help but to marvel at the scenery. A beautiful mansion-definitely not a castle- stood by the edge of the cliff looking majestically in white; the size must be the size of three of four football fields. It might not be as big as the Winchester lands but it was beautiful, nonetheless with the high pointed roof to the carefully manicured gardens.

The driver stopped in the gates and I gave him the payment before he could drive off. I took a deep, frigid breath before walking towards the gates and pressed the doorbell on the concrete. I rubbed my arms as I waited for answers; when no one came up to entertain me, I pressed the doorbell again until a butler came dashing towards me.

"May I help you?" He asked as he skeptically looked at me up and down, assessing me from my flip flops to my Sesame Street shirt. I cleared my throat which bought his gaze back to my face.

"Umm...I'm looking for vampire lord LaRoche?"

The butler narrowed his eyes at me. "And who might you be, madam?"

"I am Calvin Campbell's wife," I said calmly as if he just didn't doubt me. "May I see her, please?"

He pressed his lips in a tight line. "I'll see what I can do."

He dashed inside, probably to talk to the bítch. I swear she isn't in the top list of my favorites but desperate times call for desperate measures. I waited for about another half an hour, the cold biting into me and I swear my teeth may be chattering the moment he came back to me. The gates mobilized and he asked me to follow him curtly inside. I walked through the rose bushes to the Bermuda grass and couldn't help but to ma at the luxury she is living.
