My POV:

The wind was blowing and the rain was pouring down hard onto the front driveway. Hector sat

quietly next to me by the fireplace. The fire was burning hot and it reflected in Hector's eyes. The

house was silent aside from the rain hitting the roof. The clock read 7:34pm and I decided that it

was time to cook some dinner for me and to pour some dog food into Hector's bowl. I stood up

and walked into the kitchen suddenly missing the warmth from the fire. Hector quickly

scampered into the kitchen behind me, knowing that it was time to eat. I poured some dog food

into Hector's food bowl and poured some water into his water dish. He started to quickly chow

down on his food as if he were starving. I walked over and looked into the kitchen cabinet noticing

that I didn't have a lot of food so I would have to go shopping soon. I didn't see anything that

looked even slightly good so I poured myself a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I slowly poured

my cereal and ate it.

The rain began to pour onto the wood roof a lot harder than before. The

sudden flash of lightning followed by the quick boom of thunder frightened Hector who was

laying on my feet. He began to whimper and he quickly ran up the stairs. Knowing Hector, he was

going to go and hide in my room under my bed. He does this every time it storms. I stood up and

decided that I was going to go change into a pair of grey sweatpants and a t-shirt.

When I got

upstairs I changed and grabbed a hoodie, then I turned my laptop on and unplugged it. Once it

was completely on I sat down with it on my bed and searched current news articles. Once the page

loaded, I began to read some of the news articles. The front page story said that a wife and a

husband were found dead in an alley next to a local bar. The thing that made this story stick out

was that all of there blood was completely drain and that they appeared to have been attacked by

an animal with a large set of teeth. Huh. That sounds like a vampire, but I should check out the

scene before I jump to conclusions.

I checked my watch and it read 11:24pm, now it is too late to

go and check out the scene, so I guess I will go earl tomorrow. The bottom of the computer was

hot because I had been on it for so long, so I shut it off and plugged it in. I went to the bathroom

and brushed my teeth and then took a shower. When I walked into my room I put my pajamas on

and crawled into bed. I leaned over and set my alarm for 5:30am, so that I would have time to get

ready and drive to the scene.

At about 2:30am I heard a crash from down stairs. The sound woke

me up and got my heart racing. The first thing that came to my mind was that someone might be

breaking in or that it could be some type of monster. I opened the drawer next to my bed and

grabbed my knife. The only thing that the knife could protect me from was something my size that

didn't have any sort of special abilities. I closed the door to my room quietly and called Hector

over. Hector abruptly stopped walking towards me and began to growl in my direction. I was

confused about why he was growling at me because he never growled at me. I went to call for him

again but I ran out of time because I was quickly thrown against the wall. My head collided with

the wall and I could already feel the blood running down my face. I looked up and noticed it was a

vampire. The full set of razor sharp fangs shown brightly in my dimly lit room. I didn't have Lot of

time to gauck at him though because my instincts kicked in and I got up and ran past him out of

my room. I could hear Hector running behind me. When I got to the stairs I got very dizzy and I

everything went into slow motion and I began to tumble down the stairs. When I hit the bottom I

tried to stand up. This was quite a difficult task and I quick slid back down. My vision got

extremely blurry and right before I passed out I saw two men run in and kill the vampire. The

darkness quickly overcame me.
