In this chaotic beginning to the next generation, a being known as Omni had initially sent all the major heroes to different realities in order to try to take the original one over. Eventually, through Raven's "Banshee Scream", everyone returned home to fight Omni, with Raven primarily leading the charge. Despite having two previous battles with Omni and knowing how to best them, Omni also knew how to distract Raven, deciding to kill her mother, Tanya Jiwe. This distraction gave Omni the opportunity to neutralize Raven and send her to a pocket dimension, which is where our story picks up.
