My many attempts at calling Erron was for naught. After the encounter we had weeks ago, his conclusion may be clouded with his own judgement. But, the blame is for me to endure. I bit my lower lip, walking back and forth inside my room. My magic was not reaching him whatsoever.
The grip on my communicator tightened, as my eyes was still admiring the magic merges from my fingers. I sighed in defeat, squeezed the bridge of my nose with my thumb and finger. I put it aside and make my way out of the room.
Stepping my feet on the grassy ground, i soothed my finger on the edge of the fountain. Feeling the rough structure of its build. I caressed my hair back as i look at my reflection, guilt was an obvious view glimmered from my eyes. The wind stroke the very scent coming from beneath, carrying the light attracting smell of the flowers around.
Suddenly, an idea came to mind. I paused my very figure, wondering through my thoughts. I compiled all the magic that resides within me, and coiled them through my hands. My eyes shifted in the process, intensified its glow. The water inside the fountain shook, making a wave of droplets from the very center.
The reflection started to form a different palette of color. Swaying its motion slowly. The shape of my figure on it swirled into a familiar man, viewing from a perspective beneath his feet. I bit my lower lip, gradually filling up my courage to call his name.
"Erron."
The man bent his head down, flinched at the spot as he leaned down. "(Y/N)?" the rusty voice was heard from behind his mask, echoed through the fountain's structure. He crouched down. I forced my self to smile, "Yes, it's me."
"What do you want?" his tempo was deep, the gaze on his eyes seemed hostile. I frowned as my pupils soften, "I...i wanted to check up on you..."
"There's no need for that, (Y/N)."
"Erron, i'm sorry. Truly, i am. I didn't-- I honestly didn't know what was going to happen back then... I--"
"(Y/N)."
My eyes reverted back to his waving figure resides within the water, paused my very sentence.
"We both know well this ain't working admirably."
I stood silent.
"Seemed genuine at the start, but steppin further just makin this worse."
Tears started to run down my cheeks, dripping down towards the water under. Swaying Erron's picture at its silhouette. Erron opened his mask, twitched his lips to a warm smile.
"Don't cry, baby girl. This doesn't mean that i don't love my cowgirl."
I swept the tears with a chuckle, "I..I understand, Erron. But, no negative vibes?"
"Hell no."
I wrinkled a smile, reached for the necklace lies underneath my clothes. I tightened my grip on the accessory.
"I love you, Erron. Don't ever forget that."
"I love you more, (Y/N). I won't forget that."
The last words closed up our conversation, followed by the fading picture of Erron on the water. Putting off my magic which merges the water. I bent my body forward, with both hands supporting it. I felt as if both burden and relieve came to my doorstep as a heavy sigh was released from my mouth.
I slipped the pendant of my necklace back to its original place, lying beneath under the cover of my clothes. The wind stroke my figure, carrying the breezing temperature. Following the recent mood it held on. Anxiety made me rub my lower arm, staring blankly at my own reflection.
Those may be the very last we end our special relationship, after many times been done in the past. I was pretty dejected at the fact, but i know it was the best for the both of us. We live in a world where happy endings resides nowhere. Because if it's truly a happy ending, why does it end?
"(Y/N)..." a voice peaked its tone from behind me, i immediately swept the wet substance above my cheeks. Turning around, i put up a smile "L-lord Raiden, what brings you here?"
His pupils reverted to mine. Approaching closer only to gesture his eyes, "I sense apprehension," left a few feet between our figures.
"I-i don't know what you're talking about--"
Raiden lifted his hand up, brushes his finger to one of the corners of my eye. A drop of tear streamed down his finger. I flinched at the spot, not realizing there was some tears left untouched. "I am not easily fooled, Lady (Y/N)."
My strands of hair that weren't intact blown by the wind, waving the strands to a certain direction. I stared blankly towards him, unable to retrieve any words to respond. His hand landed on my shoulder, with eyes glimmered down to mine. I bit my lower lip with a scoff, "Well, i guess it's too obvious from the evidence," i stated with voice already cracked up.
Without any expectations, my lips quivered. Both hands clenched to fists as my head bends down. Eyes concealed from the sunlight by the shade of my hair. Without hesitation, Raiden pulled my head closer gently. My face landed on his shoulder unexpectedly. My hands were cramped up between our body as his arms wrap around my body.
I closed my eyes, sobbing a low tone of sadness. One of his hand reached for my hair, caressing them softly. The scent of his cologne entered my nostrils. Tears ran down my cheeks, resting my forehead on his shoulder. My jaw clenched at the maximum, gritting my teeth in order to endure the void inside my chest.
The oddity of my emotions disrupted. The percentage of the suiting explanations couldn't be counted down. I tried to pick myself up piece by piece, but the never ending cycle of sorrow couldn't be repaired just as quick as the hole enlarged. But, although with it in the way, lying in the Thunder God's held warmed my existence.
The God of Thunder stood silent as the area was being filled by my constant sob. Trembling in my own cry. A few hiccups in between. I slowly let my urge to fill up, gradually let the calmness entered my chest. Raiden rubbed my head softly, giving effort to make me stop crying. Already had his other hand wrapped on my waist.
"I'm okay..." i muttered under my breath.
"You may not be at all times, (Y/N)."
I nodded slowly in his arms, slowly pulling away. He reached for my chin and lifted my head up, i put up a warm smile as he did. His pupils dilated slightly.
"Thanks, Raiden. I needed that."
"Gratitude is unnecessary."
I lifted a brow in his humble respond. My cunning brain glimpsed a cunning idea, i twitched the corner of my lips to a smirk. Without any warning, i tiptoed and land a soft kiss on his cheek. Raiden's eyes widened in an instant. With a hand on covering my mouth, i giggled softly. Looking up to him, my hands gestured before i placed them on my hips. "Perhaps that...is necessary."
Raiden's sight became blank. I tilted my head as i wave my hand back and forth to his vision. "Anyone home?"
He gestured his head in a slight mock, i grinned widely at his reaction. Raiden shook his head slowly, a sign of disbelieving my action. But i could tell he didn't mind in the slightest.
Suddenly, my mind remembered something. Something that Raiden offered me weeks ago when we were in the forest. I glanced away in regards of my decision. Wondering through them. Asking myself whether it would be worth it. Knowing i did not retrieve any clue on my mother's whereabout at Outworld, maybe it's worth the try.
I inhaled a deep breath, prayed that my the path lies ahead wouldn't be chaotic. I lifted my head up, "Raiden, about that offer."
"What is your answer, (Y/N)?"
I paused for a couple of seconds, staring deep into his godly eyes. Which never fails to mesmerize me. "I think i'll give it a shot," i put both my hands behind me. The corner of his lips twitched upwards unnoticedly, "I am grateful."
I warmly smiled at him. There was no tension in the air. Just the silent filling the air without any disruption. The wind once again stroke my hair, waving its strands to a certain direction. Then suddenly a spark lit Raiden's eyes, he gazed his eyes towards me.
"Lady (Y/N), please accept this gift," he stated as he reaches something within his pocket. I lifted a brow in response. Trying to peek my eyes a little earlier to the source. My eyes widened when he pulled out a beautiful comb, surrounded by crystals above the harrows.
He handed it to me. My seaweed eyes scanned the accessory entirely. Felt like my pupils sparkled. I lifted my gaze up back to him, "Raiden... this is very pretty. W-where did you get this?"
"I purposely made it by hand."
"Oh gods... i-i don't know what to say... Wh--"
"May i?"
By his question, i stood frozen. My eyes flickered, unable to utter anymore words. The blood inside my cheeks boiled. I pressed my lips as a sign of uncertainty. But at the moment, i wanted him to. I nodded slowly as an answer.
I turned my body to the side, letting my hand to caress some strands back. Raiden scanned his eyes to my hair, trying to find a worthy spot. After a second he paused, his hand soothed my hair. Brushed some of the strands aside. I could feel my cheeks released some pink vague blush. Stiffed my figure at the very pose.
He was done, provoked myself to turn myself towards his presence I cornered my pupils, reaching the comb gently with my fingers to figure out where they were placed. I bit my lower lip in response, "H-how do i look?"
Silence filled the air as the wind stroke our figures. My tendency at his reaction made me feel off. I was feeling insecure of how it turned out. He was speechless. I always thought it would be ridiculous for me to wear such accessory. I rubbed my hands in awkwardness.
When i was about to speak up, i closed back my mouth when he raised his hand. Raiden clenched his hand to a fist, clung it on his upper stomach. I lifted a brow.
"Pardon for my odd behavior... i was stunned by your..."
He let himself paused. I stood there with curiosity filled my mind.
"...beauty..." he murmured.
Again, silence filled the air. The two of us were frozen in the spot. I filled up my courage to smile at his response, "You're exaggerating, Raiden. But, thank you."
"I did not, (Y/N). Truly your charm mes--"
"O-okay, enough. T-thanks for the compliment," i cut off his words quickly, avoiding my face be turned to a tomato again. As it was already becoming red. Raiden seemed to notices my shyness and indecisiveness, twitched a vague smirk on the corner of his mouth.
"Your reaction are very amusing to--"
"Curse you, Raiden."
I walked away, covering both my hands across my face. Hiding the embarrassed (Y/N). The Thunder God released a low chuckle while watching me retreated away.
