Chapter 90: Ivy Phoenix Purdy
ECHO'S POV
*Two months later*
"Echo." Haven said, walking into the living room where I was sitting.
"Yes?"
"How about we go to the beach. One last date before the baby comes." Haven said, sitting next to me. I was eight months pregnant and felt like a whale.
"Haven! I don't want to go swimming. Plus, I'll look like a fucking whale."
"But you're my-"
"Shut the fuck up. Fine." I groaned.
"Great." He smiled, kissing my cheek and going into the bedroom. He walked out a few minutes later wearing swim trunks and a muscle shirt.
"I'll go change. You better bring food."
"You can eat this di-"
"Haven, food."
"Yes dear." He said and walked into the kitchen. I stood up and walked into our bedroom, getting changed into my swimsuit and putting some shorts and a tank top on.
I walked out and Haven smiled at me.
"Beautiful."
"Shut up." I said. "Sorry."
"It's fine." I've been so mean lately because of my damn hormones. It made me feel so bad, but Haven understood.
"Let's go." He said, holding up the basket filled with food. He grabbed his keys and we walked down to the car.
"Those stairs get harder every day." I groaned.
"One more month." He said and I nodded. We made it to the bottom and walked out to the car. We got in and drove to the beach.
We put out stuff down and Haven ran out into the water. I walked out and walked until my feet couldn't reach the bottom. I floated, letting the water relax me from all my tensions and stress. All of a sudden, water was splashed on me and I gasped, turning to see Haven laughed.
"HAVEN MICHAEL PURDY!" I screamed and splashed him back. We had a splashing war until we were both soaked. We laughed and kissed.
"Can you believe that it's no longer going to be just us?" Haven said.
"I know." I said. We messed around a bit more and laying down on the towels we brought.
"Let's take a walk." Haven said about ten minutes later.
"But that involves walking!" I groaned.
"Yeah, come on."
"Fine." I said, pulling on my shorts and walking along the shore with Haven for about five minutes.
"Look!" He exclaimed, pointing to something written in the sand. I let go of his hand and got closer.
"Will you marry me." I read. "Awh, someone prop-" I turned around, stopping mid sentence. Haven was down on one knee, looking up at me. "H-Haven." I said, tears coming to my eyes.
"Yeah, someone is going to propose." He laughed, grabbing my left hand and pulling out a ring box. He opened it and took a deep breath. "Echo, I love you so much and I can't imagine a life without you. We've been friends since birth and you are the only person for me. We're going to have a child soon and I want to complete our family. Echo Melody Biersack, will you marry me?"
"Yes." I said, not even having to think about it. He slipped the ring on my finger and stood up. He grabbed my face and kissed my lips, hugging me tightly.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too." I said, burying my face into his shoulder. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and would've fell to the ground if it wasn't for Haven. "Ow!" I cried.
"What?" He asked, looking concerned.
"I-I think I'm going into labor."
"What! Now? But you're not due for another month!"
"Just get me to the hospital."
"Okay." He said. We walked back to our spot and Haven gathered everything before helping me to the car. He quickly drove to the hospital and Haven got me checked in.

Haven called both of our parents and told them to pass on the message. I felt another contraction and cried out in pain, squeezing the hell out of Haven's hand. He bit his tongue, trying not to complain about the pain I was causing him.
"Echo!" My mom exclaimed, walking in.
"Hi." I said, giving her a small smile.
"How are you doing?" She asked wiping the sweat off of my forehead with a rag.
"Hurting."
"I know, but it's almost over." She said, kissing my temple.

"One more push Echo!" My doctor said. It wasn't long before I heard my daughter's cries. "It's a girl!" The doctor exclaimed. I threw my head back, tears falling from my eyes. They quickly wiped her off and laid her on my chest for a second before taking her away.
I hugged Haven, crying into his shoulder.
"She's beautiful Echo, you did good." He said, kissing my forehead.
"What if she doesn't make it Haven? She's early."
"She's going to survive, I promise." He said, kissing my lips. My doctor walked in about five minutes later.
"Your daughter was born a month early but she seems just fine. We'll keep her for the night and if she's doing good tomorrow, we'll bring her in here. You may have to stay in the hospital a bit longer than normal just to make sure you both are okay before we release you."
"Can I see her?" I asked.
"Of course. I'll have a nurse bring a wheelchair."
"What about family?" Haven asked.
"They can look through the glass but you are the only two who can hold her."
"Thank you." I said and he left. A nurse came in a few minutes later with a wheelchair and helped me into the wheelchair. Haven pushed me out of the room and down the hall while the nurse led us.
We came to the NICU and were handed sea foam green suits. It was pants, a shirt, a cap, shoe covers, gloves and a mask. Haven got dressed and the nursed helped me. I was wheeled in and over to my daughter. The nurse lifted her out of her bassinet and handed her to me. I started to cry, looking down at her.
"She looks like you." Haven said. I smiled up at him and looked back down at my daughter.
"Did you guys pick out a name?" One of the nurses asked.
"Ivy Phoenix Purdy." I said. She wrote it on a name card and attatched it to the bassinet.
"Here, you hold her." I said, handing her to Haven. He took her from me and I saw tears fall from his eyes.
"God, I can't believe I'm a dad." He smiled. "I love you so much." He said to Ivy and then handed her back to me. I quickly moved my mask and kissed her forehead before pulling my mask back up. I handed her back to the nurse and she put Ivy back in the bassinet.
Haven wheeled me out and we undressed before I was taken back to my room. I was helped into my bed and the nurse left.
"I'm going to go take our parents to go look." He said and I nodded. He left and I smiled at the thought of Haven and I finally being parents.
HAVEN'S POV
I walked out to the waiting room where everyone was.
"How are they?" Andy asked.
"They're fine, they're keeping Ivy in the NICU for close observation and predict she'll be out of the NICU tomorrow."
"That's great!" My mom exclaimed.
"Can we see her?" Niki asked.
"Yeah." I said, calling my parents, Niki's parents and all of our siblings. I led them to the NICU and they crowded around the glass. I pointed her out and they gasped.
"She's beautiful." My mom smiled. Ivy was towards the front so it was easier to see her.
"I wanna see!" Legacy whined, jumping to try to look. Andy bent down and picked her up. She put her hands on the glass and pressed her face against the glass. I silently chuckled, imagining Ivy being like that in the next few years.
Someone touched my shoulder and I jumped, turning to see my dad smiling at me.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I was just daydreaming. It's been a long day." I laughed.
"You did good son, I can tell you're going to be a great father."
"Thanks." I smiled, hugging him. After they were done, I took them to see Echo.
ECHO'S POV
Haven walked in with my family and his.
"She's so beautiful." Riot smiled, walking up to me.
"Thanks." I said.
"You did good." My mom smiled, kissing my forehead.
"Wait, let me see your hand." Riot said, grabbing my left hand. She gasped, looking at me and then at Haven and then back to me.
"Yeah, I proposed." Haven said.
"About damn time." Ashley said and everyone laughed.
