#9 ~ He says 'I love you'
POSSIBLE trigger warning for Bruce - depends on what gets you upset!
Steve -
You and Steve had been together for 3 months and today you were having a lazy day. Steve had just got back from a mission and wanted to just have a day watching classic films that he had missed, whilst he has been 'sleeping'. Right now you were watching The Lion King. As it was such a big film, you had already shown it to Steve and he wanted to watch it a second time. You had reached the part where Nala was persuading Simba to come home. A few seconds after the song started, Steve stood up and pulled you up with him. Unexpectedly he started to sway you to the music. He waltzed you around the room, softly singing along to the film. As the song stopped he kissed you gently. The disc must have had a scratch, because the screen went black, but you only noticed out the corner of your eye and ignored it. Steve looked into your eyes "Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N I love you." You were slightly shocked but replied in a heartbeat "Steven Grant Rogers I love you more" mimicking the way he used your full name. He grinned the biggest grin you had ever seen before giving you a knee-weakening kiss.
Tony -
Tony was on a live talk show this evening and you knew the interviewer was going to ask about your relationship. You were extremely worried about what he'd say. You hadn't expressed your fear to Tony, so you sat watching the show anxiously. About 10minutes in she said the dreaded thing. "Now Tony, tell us about your relationship with Y/N" You drew a deep breath. "Amazing! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me!" The interviewer looked shocked, as did you. "Above becoming Iron Man?" She asks. "Oh way above, Iron Man was like an addition to me. But Y/N? She has created a whole new me, and the new me is a mega improvement! She makes me feel stronger when I'm with her, like I could run faster or jump higher. I love her." The interviewer takes this into her stride and carries on with the interview, while you're practically paralyzed on the sofa. 'I love her' He loves you?!?! You squealed in happiness and waiting for him to come home. When the car drew up you raced to the front door, and met him there. You threw yourself at him. Kissing him passionately, and running your hands through his hair. "I love you too Tony!"
Thor -
Thor had taken you to Asgard yesterday!! He was planning on introducing you to his parents today, and you were nervous. "Y/N it'll be fine! They'll love you!" Thor reassured you. As you entered the throne room his mother ran to hug him. She turned to you and introduced herself, you curtsied politely and introduced yourself. "You look gorgeous Y/N, our attire suits you." You smiled and thanked her, you found the dresses odd, but you were not going to insult her kingdom's clothes. She returned to her throne and Thor walked you to his father. "Father, this is my lovely partner, Y/N." He looked you up and down before turning to Thor and saying "Really son? A mortal? Return her to her realm and never contact her again!" Frigga gasped as did you. "Father!" Thor shouted looking furious yet confused. Frigga pulled you away, knowing how angry Thor and his father could get. "I will not have my daughter-in-law being human! Take her back Thor!" "No! I will not let you banish her to earth, away from me!" You felt a warm feeling spread through you, despite the argument occurring, Thor was defending you against his father, the King! "Do not test me!" The King shouted almost looking as angry as Thor, almost. "No! You will not banish the woman I love!" You gasped and run forward out of Frigga's grasp. "You love me?" You ask "Of course Y/N" you kissed him quickly and lightly before replying "I love you too!" You hear the King clear his throat and turn to face him. You see Frigga scowling at him, looking pleased with herself. "Due to the ... strength of your emotions, I shall not banish her." He strode from the room. You mouth a thank you to Frigga before Thor pulls you from the room, and begins to show you Asgard.
Bruce -
You and Bruce were having a heated argument, about him forgetting to pick you up from work. You car was at the garage so, Bruce had promised he'd pick you up at 6.00, when work had finished. At 6.10 you had called him, but his phone had gone straight to voicemail. You waited until 6.45; thinking he might be stuck in traffic. But, then you decided to walk home. You lived and hour and a half’s walk away!! You eventually got in at 8.20 soaking wet because it had started to rain. Bruce was worried about you when you got home and started shouting, asking why you didn't call him, when you lost the plot. The argument had been going on for a while now and Bruce started to get green. You didn't notice until he dropped to the ground trying to fight it. You knelt down trying to help, but it was too late. He shouted for you to run, but you weren't quick enough. You were by the front door, when he came crashing through and caught you on a backhand swing. You flew through the air and smashed into the window, going straight through, because of the force. You were unconscious as you fell to the ground but somehow, Bruce managed to get around the Hulk's mind and threw himself to catch you. He caught you and rolled you onto the ground safely, just before changing back into himself. Someone threw him some pants, knowing who he was, which he pulled on hastily as he ran towards you, laying on the ground. "Oh my god!" A string of profanities left his mouth, someone in the gathered crowd called an ambulance and they were on their way. Bruce was sobbing his heart out over you, and your eyes fluttered open. You could feel yourself slipping away. "Bruce, you were the best boyfriend anyone could ever have." "No, no no! Don't start saying goodbye Y/N" he interrupted "Don't worry Bruce, you'll be okay." You broke off choking on something, you didn't know what. "Y/N, you can't leave me! I... I love you." He whimpered. You smiled weakly, whispering back "I love you too. Please hold me while I go." He nods slipping around so he could rest you on his legs. He pulled your upper body onto his legs and stomach with your head resting on his chest. You groaned at the pain of moving but managed to quieten yourself, looking up into his tear stained eyes. "It isn't your fault Bruce, never ever forget that. Never forget me." "Never" he promised before leaning down and planting a soft kiss on your lips, he pulled back and saw your eyes, still watching him, but lifeless and glazed over. He felt himself being pulled away by the paramedics, but that was it. He had killed the woman he loved.
Clint -
You and Clint had been together for 3 months. He was going on a mission tomorrow and was staying at his apartment, alone. As he had to leave very early in the morning. You mostly stayed over at each other's apartments, together, but obviously not tonight. He had said he would call you tonight to say goodbye, and you were waiting for the call. 'Ring ring!! Ring ring!!' You jumped at the sudden noise and scrambled to pick up the phone. "Hello?" You asked. "Hey! I was calling to say bye!" Clint said loudly, making you laugh out loud. "I love your laugh!" He said, making you smile eve more! "I'm going to miss you Clint." you said sadly. "Hey, you'll be alright Y/N don't worry about me. I'll be home in a few days!" You smiled at his cheery attitude, despite being just about to go on a life threatening mission."Hey, I have to go, Fury's calling me in now instead of tomorrow morning! He's such a pain!" He laughed at his own moaning before you said goodbye as well. "Y/N..." He paused and you could hear him take a deep breath before saying "I love you." You gasped and recoiled in shock. He loved you?!? Could you say it back? In a panic you hung up, an regretted it pretty instantaneously! You sat there thinking about your feelings for him, well into the next morning. You eventually fell asleep, on the sofa, out of pure exhaustion. Somehow, you managed to sleep all day and night and woke up at 10.00am the next day. You checked your phone and saw loads of missed calls from Clint from the day before. He was coming home tomorrow. You were staring at the phone when it rang making you jump in surprise. "Hello?" You asked, cautious of it being Clint. "Is this Miss Y/L/N?" A gruff voice asked. "Yes" you replied anxious of what the man wanted. "This is Director Nick Fury of SHIELD. I am calling about your boyfriend Agent Barton." Your stomach clenched and your face paled. "Clint? Oh my god! Is he okay?" You said quickly, the man replied calmly "We have a tracking device on him, but he had disappeared. We will contact you if we receive more information." The line went dead, quelling your other questions. You sank to the floor starting to cry. Clint was gone? He couldn't be... be dead, could he? A thousand thoughts ran through your head of what could have happened. You spent the rest of the day in his clothes, just sitting around, worrying about Clint. The next day the phone rang again. "Hello?" You hoped it was SHIELD with more information. "Miss Y/L/N Agent Barton has returned to base. He is being driven back to your home, as we speak." you span around the kitchen in glee. He was alive! The man you loved was still alive! Wait! Loved? You had started to think of him as the man you loved. You realized with a jolt that you had loved him all this time, but it took thinking you had lost him to make you realize. "The reason we lost him was because someone else managed to hack our tracking devices and Barton knew this so he disabled the tracker" you thanked him graciously and the line was dead again. You heard someone knock on the door. You ran over and opened it. There was Clint, looking physically fine, but his eyes looked distraught. He was so tormented with the thought of seeing you again, after last time, that he had not really slept while away. "Clint!" You said loudly, smiling, before calming yourself and making your face seem solemn. "There is something I should have told you a while ago..." you trailed off, his face looked so upset; he presumed you were breaking up with him due to him confessing his love. "I love you" you said breaking into a grin! His face suddenly became the happiest you had ever seen it, "Really?" He asked amazed. "Yes! It took me thinking I'd lost you for me to realize, but I do!" You replied, before he pulled you close and kissed you passionately yet gently.
Loki -
You and Loki were walking around the palace gardens, commenting on the beauty of the flowers. You and Loki had been growing much closer over the last few months, and you had grown to care deeply for the man. You had had a chaperon with you during all your meetings, but they followed behind, so as not to intrude on your personal conversation. When Loki had bought up the chaperon in conversation, about 3 weeks ago, you had realised that he was courting you! You had not known how to react, so just went on as usual and tried to forget about the implications of the chaperon. "Y/N look at these roses." Loki called enthusiastically from the other side of the path. You walked over and smelt the roses, marvelling at the range of colours. "I think they are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!" You exclaimed. "I have seen something much more beauteous." Loki remarked causing you to look up in surprise, searching for the perfect flower he spoke of. "Where?" You questioned. He led you over to the nearby pond and pointed into it, "There" he pointed, but you could only see your reflection. Realisation dawned on you. He meant you! You blushed and looked down. "Y/N, look at me." Loki said softly, you looked up. "I have, admittedly, been courting you these past months and I have realised you are the person I want to spend the rest of my life with! I want your face to be the last I see at night and the first I see in the morning. I want to love you and be loved by you. Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" He questioned you looking extremely anxious for your answer. A few months might not seem very long to have known someone, but in Asgard it was seen to be wrong to have a sexual or seriously romantic relationship, before marriage. You looked into Loki's eyes and saw the same things he did! You threw yourself at Loki and kissed him, pulling back before he could respond properly, whispering "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!! A thousand times yes." He spun you around, off your feet before planting you in the ground and kissing you again. "I love you" both of you said at the same time, causing you to laugh because of it.
