That same day, the group of friends minus Tom and Chloe, were sat around their usual table at lunch, complaining about the standard school dramas. "Where is the away game this weekend?", Stacie would change the subject of the conversation as she'd look inbetween Jesse and Beca now, both who were stuffing their mouths with lunch.

"It's against Jefferson, which is about a 2 hour drive", Jesse would answer first, seeing as Beca was trying to keep her head down and avoid any conversation. The brunette had been quiet all day and her friends had noticed, but didn't want to bring it up in case she would snap and become even more angry. But if there was one person that would push and plug away until they got an answer, Beca knew that she could always count on that one person.

"Are you just going to ignore me all day?", Stacie would nudge her shoulder against her best friend next to her, causing for Beca's drink to spill a little when the brunette had lifted the can towards her lips.

"Watch it Conrad or next time I spill this drink it'll be over your head instead", Beca bit back at her, looking up to see Chloe and Tom enter the cafeteria now and make their way over to grab their tray of food.

"Well if you just told me what was wrong then I wouldn't have to keep asking your moody ass", Stacie rolled her eyes again. The tall brunette would look down at her best friend once more, noticing that she was watching something and when she then followed Beca's line of sight to see that she was in fact watching Chloe and Tom, who were stood laughing and holding hands while paying for their lunch, she'd smirk. "I knew it", she mumbled loud enough for only Beca to hear as the rest of her friends had started a new conversation without them.

"Knew what? How many times do I have to tell you that I'm fine, just having a bit of an off day", Beca would try to casually shrug her shoulders as she'd finally look away from the couple who was making their way towards the table.

"Yeah, sure thing Bec", Stacie sarcastically pat her on the back, "But when you finally realise that what your feeling is jealously then come back to me", she'd whisper into her ear quietly as Tom and Chloe then sat down opposite them.

"Fuck off", Beca would roll her eyes and push Stacie playfully away from her, keeping the scowl on her face as she'd go back to looking down, this time scrolling through her phone instead.

"Hey, you guys get set that assignment in English?", Tom looked around the whole group, quickly noticing that Beca was still in a bad mood from earlier.

"Yeah, I got partnered with Bumper, although I don't know how much work we'll actually get done", Fat Amy would bite down on her lip and smirk.

"I can't believe you're still sleeping with him.. actually no, I can't believe he is still with you when you've rejected his ass twice when he asked you to be his girlfriend", Stacie then shook her head.

"What can I say? I can't be tied down to just one guy, I like to fly solo like Shawshank over there", Fat Amy would then throw a pea from her tray that bounced off of Beca's forehead, causing the brunette to look up and see the whole table looking and laughing at her.

"Whatever", she'd mumble and cross her arms.

"Beca, when did you want to start working on the assignment?", Chloe would speak up for the first time and nervously look ahead at the girl who sat across from her.

"Wait, you two got put together?", Tom would point at his girlfriend and then over to his twin, who rolled her eyes once more.

"Yeah, is there a problem with that Tommy?", she'd use his childhood nickname that she knew he hated, smirking as she'd notice his jaw clench.

"No, I just feel sorry for Chloe that's all", he'd put his arm around the redhead, "You know that she won't do any of the work right?", he'd look down at his girlfriend.

"Hey, woah", Beca would hold her hands up, "I'll make sure to write my name on it personally myself", she'd smile hearing her group of friends start to laugh, except Chloe and Tom.

"Well, we could start today if you wanted, after school in the library?"

"Oooh a cute study date", Stacie winked and glanced between the two, smirking once more as she felt an elbow jab into her side from Beca. "Ow"

"I uh.. I'll let you know, I might have plans", Beca shrugged her shoulders as she stood up from the table, grabbing her backpack, "Now if you'll excuse me I have a private meeting waiting for me", she'd wink down at Stacie before nodding her head at Jesse and Amy.

"Go get 'em killer", Stacie would call out as they'd all watch her walk away.

"I told you Chlo, she won't help you with the assignment", Tom would lean in closer to speak to his girlfriend now. "If you want to switch partners I'm sure Miss Bryce could sort something out"

"Or maybe you should just give Beca a chance and she might surprise you", Stacie couldn't help but lean across the table to cut in.

"Come on Stacie, you can't be serious? This is Beca we're talking about", he'd roll his eyes again.

"Yeah I know, and have you ever thought that maybe there is a reason that she doesn't want to do the work?", Stacie stood up for her best friend who wasn't here to defend herself in person.

"You mean other than the fact that she's lazy?", Tom would question.

"You may be her twin Tom, but she tells me a lot more than she tells you", Stacie then picked up her bag and tray before leaving the table now, afraid that if she stayed for any longer then she would spill Beca's secret.

Chloe who had sat awkwardly throughout the small argument, watched Stacie leave before turning back to focus back on her lunch. "Ignore her babe, if you want help with your paper then I'll help you", he'd smile and kiss her cheek before moving back to eat his lunch.

Throughout the rest of their time in the cafeteria Chloe found herself not focused on the funny stories that Fat Amy and Jesse were telling her and instead kept thinking about the small brunette that sat across from her. She wondered what Stacie meant about Beca having a reason for not wanting to do any work. The redhead wanted to know where Beca had run off to so quickly and why the soccer star had been avoiding her and acting cold towards her all day.

Soon the bell that acted as a warning bell for the students to start moving to their next class rung out around the cafeteria and everyone started to get up and head out into the hallways. Tom walked Chloe to her locker, holding hands as they'd weave their way in and out of students that were bustling around and making their way to their own classes. Chloe would notice the stares and looks that she and Tom were getting as they moved down the hallway but tried to brush it off as she'd finally reach her locker, opening it to get her stuff out. "I'll see you after school on the steps? We can go back to my house before I drop you home tonight", Tom leant against the locker next to Chloe's, running a hand through his hair as he smiled down at her.

"Yeah, I mean it looks as if I won't be meeting up with Beca after school so, why not?", she'd smile up at him, but feeling disappointment deep down that she wouldn't get to see Beca later on to confront her about how she had been acting today.

"Alright, I'll see you later then", he'd lean down and place a soft kiss against her lips before jogging off down the hallway.

Chloe would take a deep breath as she'd close her eyes and rest her head inside the locker, not noticing that the hallway was quickly emptying until she was the only one left. Just as she'd close the door to her locker and move to head off to her next class, she'd hear a door open and people sniggering from behind her. Turning around Chloe would notice a blonde girl, slightly shorter and thinner than her, emerge from what Chloe could only guess was a janitors closest. She'd notice how the girl was pulling down on her top and then running her fingers through her hair before turning away from the redhead and walking off down the hallway as if nothing happened.

"Wow", Chloe would smirk and shake her head, clinging tightly to her text books as she'd watch the girl run away. "Hook-ups in the janitor's closest and just when I thought this wasn't going to be like any other high school in the country", she'd mumble to herself as she'd start to follow in the same direction as the girl before.

Before she would turn the corner, Chloe would hear two things. One would be the bell ringing for a second time which signalled the start of the next lesson, meaning that she was now late. The second would be the same door opening once again and the sound of someone singing quietly under their breath. The cheerleader couldn't help herself when she turned around to see who else had been in the closest with the girl from earlier. When she did finally see who it was, she was frozen in place as she watched the familiar brunette still humming under her breath while wiping off some red lipstick from her neck. "Of course", Chloe thought as she locked eyes with Beca now.

"You alright there, Red? You look like you've just seen a ghost", she'd smirk and stop in front of the redhead, pulling on one of the straps of her backpack.

"So that's where you went to at lunch", Chloe would cross her arms, raising an eyebrow. "And I'm guessing that's where you're going to be after school as well, which is why we can't start on the assignment together?"

"Careful Chloe", Beca moved closer to the girl now, smirking a little as she'd notice Chloe back away from her, "Some would say you sound jealous right now", she'd wink before turning to walk away.

"Whatever, I'll be at your house tonight with Tom so if you change your mind that's where I'll be", Chloe couldn't help but call out to the brunette, telling her exactly where she would be after school and who with.

"Have fun Beale, don't let my idiot brother bore you to death with all of his football stories", Beca would turn around to face Chloe, but continue to walk backwards as she'd salute her with two fingers before moving back around to go to her next class.
