After a full day of smile'n sweet
Elf, Big'T, Gus, and Sarah
Desired a treat.
So, they climbed out through a window
And escaped the orphanage
Then joined the local meet'n
Of the after hours club.
The friendly locals greeted em
Most congenially
And, soon, our intrepid quartet
Felt as loosy goosy
As a goosy loosy gets.
Elf sprang up and grandly announced
"We wish em well… we really do…
But it's time for me to bounce!"
Just then, the local boys
Got to pick'n and strum'n.
Ol' Elf slapped his MOJO on
And started into sling'n his song
Sounded so sweet..
so inviting…
That his friends soon yelled out
"Make room for us
We're going!"
"We need to wear matching Tshirts"
Gus leered at Sarah.
All three of Sarah's personalities
Inquired as to if he'd like a hurt'n.
Gus opened his eyes
Innocently wide…
"Why, girl, I just figured you'd want some beads
And, in that pretty blue frock
It would be hard to flash em some hide!"
"So much for what you know" Veda came out
"Ain't noth'n underneath this ol' thing
But some eraser smudges and some charcoal dust!"
"Whoa, lassy!" Guss held up both hands
Aside to Big'T, behind his hand,
Gus whispered
"How many folks does this wacko have inside?"
Big'T, fairly deep in his cups
Just rolled his lone eye
And drank his drink up.
"Y'I'm shtart'n to fleel quish felsh…
Maybe wes should lishun to Elp"
Sarah/Saran/Veda, Gus, and Big'T
Delicately rested their chins on the table
While they listened to Elf croon his bayou tunes.
Sir Fellow showed up with a road worthy coffin
Joined in for the last two rounds of fortification
Threw em all in and blasted off like a real slow cannon.
The next morn'n, they woke up
In a French Quarter alley
With an hippopotamus
Sit'n on their heads.
They all moaned as Elf
Happy as a clam -
Arrived with hot chicory cream
And an invitation to
Visit the Turkish baths
For a soak and a steam.
