And so it was arranged
That Queen Mousette
Realising that trouble was a foot
In what many saw as a metric age
Would settle in the attic rooms of the Pollen Mountain Orphanage
Just outside New Orleans
But nowhere near Santa Cruz
Or even the Philippines

Patched and mended
Like orphans clothes
The building looked more cheerful
And Mrs C. Ellery was not so fearful

Elf and Troll carried the cauldron
And Barbie brought the small pot of lizards gizzards
Won in battle with the Tin Pot Alley Wizard
The secrets of Mousette

Mean while that horrendous politician
Mr Peen Utbuttter
Was determined to make the orphans suffer
Calling in contractors to level it to the ground

Gus decided to place battlements all around
'I'm trying to keep the orphanage afloat'
He used his digger and built a moat

Each child was given a catapult
And six pounds of rotten tomatoes as ammunition
This would be a battle of attrition

As the bulldozer headed for the door
It didn't know want lay in store
A volley of tomatoes hit the driver
Causing him to veer off sideways
He hit the digger straight into the moat
And of course it couldn't keep afloat

Digger driver swam away
Bulldozer driver ran away

Short Fred found some old canoes
All the kids thought this good news
So swimming paddling sailing too
afternoon activities for them to choose

Then Reckless Sam thought get commercial
Bought a load of giant turtles
It was just a piece of cake
He opened it up as a sailing lake

The public came and paid full price
So they got the best treatment for the kids head lice
And all the extra profits that they made
Helped them buy a cabin in the Everglades

Tailgate Till was particularly thrilled
Her art groups yield were Halloween masks
Made by the kids in her Thursday class
They sold 'em to the neighbours for $5 each
The idea came from Naoimi on our comments sheet

Mabel made some broom sticks but none of them would fly
Anna Gram picked pumpkins and Boris made some pies
Governess Jame made toffee apples , Sykes made pots of tea
The saving of the orphanage was screened on national TV

But Politician Peen Utbutter wasn't pleased
And plotted with the Baron, to put on the squeeze
That was going to bring the orphanage,
very soon,
to it's knees
