Summary: One day, Peter gets an assignment at school to do a paternity test. He asks Tony for his DNA since he's the closest to a father he has. He's shocked to see that Tony actually is his father. He attempts to sort out his emotions alone.

"Alright class your next assignment consists of using two cotton swabs and a lab to test your paternity with your parent or parents. I understand some of you do not have biological parents but choose anyone who you think of as a father figure for this. You are welcome to use the school lab." The teacher said right before the bell rung "Dismissed!"
Everyone got up and packed their things before walking out.
"Are you going to use Tony Stark?" Ned asked Peter
"Yeah I guess. He's the only one I see of as a father figure now." Peter said
"Poor penis Parker. No parents." Flash insensitively said across the room and walked out snickering
"Don't worry. He's just insensitive." Ned said as Peter sighed
"I know." Peter said

"How was school kid?" Tony asked as they both got into the car so Peter could be safely driven home
"It was good...hey Mr. Stark, can I ask you something?" Peter said
"Shoot." Tony said
"I have to do a paternity test for a project in school and was wondering if you could swab the inside of your cheek so I can use your DNA. You're the only one I think of a father figure, but it's okay if you say no." Peter said
"Whatever you need kid. I'd gladly do it." Tony smiled at him through the rear view mirror.
As they drove home, Tony quickly did the cotton swab thing on a red light and handed it to Peter who placed it in a bag.
Peter walked into the lab through the Avengers compound to finish the project quickly.
He swabbed his cheek and took out Mr. Starks swab, doing the things he had to do and waited for the computer screen to show him.
Tony had gone on a meeting across the town so he had the lab all to himself.
He looked around before the screen finally popped up.
Peter sat down and his eyes widened at the results.
'Chance of Paternity between Anthony Stark (Alleged Father) and Peter Parker (Child): 99.999999374'
Peter looked at the screen and read it all five times over to make sure.
"Friday is this a mistake..? Did I accidentally use the same DNA..?" Peter suddenly asked
"No Peter. You used the DNA of you and Tony. I can run it again, however, it'll have the same answer." Friday spoke
Peter panicked. Was his life all a lie? Richard Parker wasn't his father..?
He ran out of the lab, trying to keep his emotions intact.

"Peter it's been a week! You can't hide from Tony forever." Ned said
"I know Ned, I know. I just need a little bit more time to process everything that's going on.." Peter said
"He's already called your aunt about it, you have to face him." Ned tried again
"I know. It's just... My whole life is changing. The person I was told my father was is now no one. It's Mr. Stark. Tony Stark." Peter said
"Peter. Calm down. You know it's inevitable. You have to tell him." Ned said
Peter slowly nodded. Trying to process everything once again.

"Hello?" Aunt May said while picking up the phone.
"Hello May. I just wanted to call to ask how Peter was and make sure everything is okay." Pepper said
"Peter? He's fine. He's become a bit more quiet lately but he's still pretty normal I believe." May said "Why?"
"He's been avoiding Tony for a week and it's driving him crazy." Pepper said
"Oh, he told me that he was switching off his phone for a few days to focus better on school." May said
"So he isn't sick or anything?" Pepper asked
"Nah. Probably just teenage hormones that are making him want to ignore some people. But that boy is doing fine." May said
"Alright. I'll talk to you later then." Pepper said
"Yeah Pep. Bye!" May said and hung up.
Pepper sat in her desk.
Peter said he was sick and that's why he wasn't answering calls.
His aunt just confirmed he's not and told her he's switching off his phone.
Something's off.

Tony walked into his lab and sighed. Why wasn't Peter talking to him?
"Friday. Show me the security footage of when Peter was in the lab two weeks ago." Tony said
After reviewing the footage he got confused.
"It's not like he did anything wrong. Why is he ignoring me..." Tony said
"Boss. It seems apparent that Peter became distressed once seeing his DNA results between you and him." Friday suddenly said, popping up the screen footage
Tony looked at it and read it over and over again.
"Oh no." Tony said

Peter walked home late at night, crying and out of his mind.
"Mind telling me where you were?" May said
"I...I was with..Mr. Stark." Peter said
"Cut the bullshit." May said "Peter don't think I haven't noticed everything going on for the past two weeks. You are way more quiet and more isolated. Your grades are deteriorating, you are ghosting Tony yet say you are going to the lab with him."
Peter stayed quiet.
"Peter, you have to tell me what's going on!" May said, also tearing up
"Tony Starks my father." Peter said
"What..?" May said "How did you figure out..?"
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I had to do this project for school, a paternity test and used Mr. Stark's DNA...and when I saw the results. He's my father. I looked over plenty of times.." Peter said
May walked forward and hugged Peter.
"It's just..my whole life has been a lie." Peter said
After a long pause May spoke up.
"Peter I know it's a huge difference. But what if it doesn't have to be? You've always thought of him as a father figure." May said
Peter looked at her and took her words in. Slowly nodding.

Tony picked up the phone.
"Tony. I don't know how to tell you this." Bruce said
"Just tell me." Tony said, sitting up
"Peter is in critical condition. He was found passed out after fighting this villain while he was in a bad state of mind." Bruce said
Tony immediately got up.
"Where." Tony said

"Where is he?!" Tony said, rushing through the doctors before Steve and Bruce stopped him.
"He's in surgery." Steve said
"Helen. How's my kid doing?" Tony said "And don't sugarcoat it."
"He's losing blood rapidly. We need a blood transfusion soon but we can't find anyone with type O blood." Helen, the main doctor there said
"Just use my damn blood!" Tony suddenly said, his voice loud but in pain "He's my son alright..my only son. Please don't make me lose my only son."

Peter woke up an hour ago and Happy was doing stitches on him before Tony walked in.
"Hey kid..how are you feeling?" Tony said
"How am I feeling?" Peter said and looked up
"How would you feel when you realize your whole life has been a lie. Did you only come up to me because I was Spider-Man or because you knew I was your son?How long were you going to keep this for me?!" Peter suddenly said, standing up in an outburst, shocking Tony.
Peter sighed and slowly sat down.
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have shouted." Peter said "It's just. My whole life I knew my parents as caring people who I couldn't remember. Both of them dying in an accident. And now I know one of them as you."
"Peter I never knew I was your father. I only figured out a little after you did. I'm so sorry I couldn't watch you grow up and help your mom, but I'm here now and I will never, no matter what, stop protecting you because you are my son. I knew it in my gut before I ever saw that test. But I never confirmed it because I didn't want to hurt you." Tony said
Peter stayed silent.
"I was scared. I was really scared I would turn out like my old man. Having way to high expectations of you and neglecting you. But honestly Peter, you're such a great kid and I am so happy I'm your father. Especially because you already are like a son to me." Tony said "I want to be here for you now. Not like you'd stop me because I'm your dad.
Peter smiled lightly and nodded.
"Okay dad." Peter muttered

"Pete. Come here. I want to show you something." Tony said, ushering Peter over.
Peter now lived in the Avengers compound and May moved to Italy to pursue her dream job, obviously still communicating with Peter everyday.
"Yeah?" Peter said as he walked up to Tony
Tony pressed a button and the iron spider suit popped up.
"All yours. It's similar to my Ironman armor. You're welcome to tweak it though." Tony said
"Oh my god. I don't need to tweak it, it's perfect." Peter said "Thank you so much Mr. Sta—" Peter stooped
"I mean. Dad." Peter mumbled softly
"What did you call me?" Tony asked, smiling
"I know you heard me." Peter laughed lightly
"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe repeat it for your old man." Tony said
"Come on dad! Stop messing around. I have to go train with the Avengers!" Peter said
"Go on! I'm totally not jealous you'd rather spend time with them then your own father!" Tony joked as Peter walked off
"You know. Ten years ago I couldn't have imagined this happening." Happy said to Tony, smiling
Tony smiled and shrugged.
"I'm glad it did happen." Tony said
A father and son.
