LISA
I wake up with a slight pain in my head. I rub my eyes due to the sunlight from the glass around the living room. Oh, last night, I slept here?
As I stand up from the chair, a white thick blanket falls off of my body. I pick it up and notice it's not mine. I don't know why, but I unconsciously inhale the scent of the blanket, and it smells so sweet. Suddenly, I recognize this blanket. It's Jennie's.
She has a strong sweet scent on her body. She has used this blanket just yesterday's night and now it smells like her. I walk to her room and see her sleeping peacefully without having anything covering her body.
When she sleeps, she looks so fragile and beautiful. When she is awake and angry, she looks like a wild tiger in the forest. Well, a beautiful wild tiger I guess. I smile at my stupid thought.
She looks cold, shivering from the air outside her room coming from the door where I stand as she hugs both her knees tightly. I walk to her bed and cover her body with the blanket. When she sleeps, her cheeks are like dumplings, making me want to pinch it very much.
But, I can't.
If I do, I will never have a life to live in the world anymore. The more I look at her, the more I want to touch those cheeks. It looks so soft and slightly chubby.
Cute.
I don't know what is happening inside me, but suddenly, my lips land on her cheek. WOW. It is softer than I think. I want to put my lips there the whole day if I can, but I have to stop it before she knows. POOR LALISA MANOBAN!
As I am about to get my lips off of her, she opens her eyes and pushes me away, "What are you doing?"
See? Lisa, you are in trouble now.
"I-I Um-m I just looked at you. Yes, I just looked at you." I give her an awkward smile.
"Why? What's wrong with my face? I saw you kissing me when I woke up." She asked.
Nothing is wrong! I just find your cheeks adorable, but I won't say it out loud.
"I saw a bug there, and I don't want to wake you up, so I just blow it away," I say, making her cheeks redden.
"Okay," She says as she gets up from the bed.
"Where are you going? You can sleep more. It's Sunday if you forget." I say.
"I have somewhere to go. Sorry, I forgot to tell you about it." She tells me, taking a towel from the closet.
"Where?"
"I go to-" She is cut off by the sound of the bell ringing.
Who is going to come this early? "Okay, you go to the bathroom, and I will open the door."
She nods, heading to the bathroom.
I open the door and see who else? My annoying best friend, Chipmunk.
"Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" She shouts as I grab her inside and shut the door.
"Why shouting?" I ask with an annoyed face.
"Calm down, monkey. I just come here to ask you if you want to go somewhere since it's Sunday."
I smile until Jennie's door opens, revealing my PA wearing blue skinny jeans with a white blouse, coming out of her room.
"Who?" Chipmunk asks.
Oh God, I forgot to tell her about my new PA, and I wasn't planning to tell her this soon. I look at her to see that she is smirking at me.
"She-"
"Your new chick? I never think you bring one of them home. HAHA. You have never brought one before."
"Shut UP! She is my new PA." I tell her.
"What?" She asks.
"I will tell you everything, but now, please shut up, okay?" I ask as she nods at me.
"Hey, Jennie. This is my best friend, Park Chaeyoung."
She smiles towards my friend, "Hi, I am Jennie Kim. Nice to meet you."
"Yeah, nice to meet you, too. I am the only heir of Park Company. The second biggest company in Seoul and my dad is also an investor in Manoban Company." My fucking stupid best friend introduces herself to Jennie and raises her hand for a handshake.
I roll my eyes, "Why tell her? She doesn't have to know about your family background, does she?"
"Well, Well. She needs to know because if someday she wants to stop working for your company, she needs to know that my company is always welcoming her, right Jennie?" She answers without looking at me as Jennie shakes her hand back.
"Thanks, Ms. Park." She says, giving her a gummy smile.
"No need to be polite, Jennie. Call me Chaeyoung or Rośe. Is it okay if I want to be your friend?" She says as she winks at Jennie.
"Since you are my new friend, let's have breakfast together. I will cook, okay?" Jennie asks, making that chipmunk gives her an ugly smile again.
"Oka-"
I cut her off, "No, she can't. She is busy."
"No, I am not busy. Lisa, this is Sunday. Don't you remember?" She asks.
Hmmm, this is the first time that I find my best friend this annoying.
"Let's go, Jennie." She says as she puts one of her arms on Jennie's shoulder.
What?!!
She just knows her for about fifteen minutes, and now she dares to touch her. OMG! I think my blood is boiling, and not to mention that my beautiful naughty PA allows her to do so.
As we sit on the table, Jennie asks, "Umm, Chaeyoung, what do you want? Coffee, tea, or-"
"Coffee is okay."
"How about, boss?"
I don't answer. I am her boss, yet she asks my friend first?
"Boss,"
"You know that I am your boss, and you asked her first?"
She furrows her brows, "What? She is your guest and also your best friend."
"Lisa, calm down. What's the problem? She just asked me first, and now she asks you, right?" My friend answers as she taps my shoulder slightly.
"Coffee," I say without looking at them.
While we are drinking our coffee in the living room since I don't want to see that Chipmunk talking a lot with my new PA, Jennie goes back to make our breakfast as I decide to tell my friend everything about how she became my PA.
"Oh, she is different from other girls. I can see it. Your mom has good eyes." She praises.
I nod.
After a while, Jennie calls us as she finishes our breakfast. She makes three Egg Toast Sandwiches for us. It's so delicious even it's just a simple one.
When we finish eating, Jisoo comes inside as Jennie went to open the door for her. She introduces Jisoo to Chaeyoung, and I literally see two hearts from my friend's eyes. FUCK!
She doesn't know about these two girls as I do. If she knows, she will run away I guess. I laugh in my mind.
Why I feel so happy knowing that she is interested in Jisoo than Jennie? Well, I think that is because I don't want someone to steal my PA from me. HAHA, that's it.
She is a good employee.
But, she hasn't worked, yet. My conscience tells me.
Shut up! She is a good cook, then.
"Boss, I have to go now."
"Where are you going?" My friend asks before I can.
"We are going to an orphanage."
"Is it okay if I want to go, too. I am free and I don't know where to go."
What!!!!!! Does this chipmunk want to go to an orphanage? I never know about it. Of course, she has donated a lot of money in there, but she has never gone there before.
"Um-"
"How do you go there?" My friend continues.
"By bus." Jennie answers.
"Go with me, we will go there by my car." She says.
"Bu-"
"Please, I want to donate some money, too."
That chipmunk is so dramatic.
Jennie looks at Jisoo as she nods back, "But, we have to stop at the bakery shop, I want to buy some bread."
She nods at Jennie happily as she looks at me, "Do you want to go?"
"Why? If you go, I will go, too. I don't want to be alone."
She smirks, going with Jisoo and Jennie first as I go to prepare myself.
I choose to wear casual clothes today and go to a parking lot, seeing all of them talking with each other happily. That chipmunk can't hide her smile when she looks at Jisoo, not to mention her gesture towards her is a little clingy.
I walk to them when Chaeyoung looks at me. She runs towards me, "Hey, Lisa. You should sit at the back with Jennie."
"What are you talking about? I am your friend!"
She furrows her brows, "You are my friend, not my crush."
"Who? Who is your crush, then? Don't tell me-"
"It's Jisoo."
"What?" I ask in disbelief, face-palming myself.
"There are a thousand women around the world. Please, not her."
"Why?" She asks, looking angrily towards me.
"Beca-"
"Chaeyoung, are you guys ready?" Jisoo shouts from behind, making that stupid friend of mine smiles cheekily and runs toward her standing beside a white Chevrolet traverse.
Tsk. Whipped.
As Jisoo is about to enter the car, Chaeyoung opens the passenger door for her, "Jisoo, you can sit with me at the front because Lisa wants to relax at the back."
What?!!!
"Right, Lisa?"
I think while she sends me a death glare, "Okay," I say as I enter the back seat with Jennie.
