Playing Games (Apollo x Player! reader)
No One's Pov:
Apollo had just gotten off work and headed to GameStop to pick up a new game he wanted. He walked in and grabbed the game from shelf before heading to the front to pay. That's when he noticed the cute girl working behind the counter. He put the game on the counter and she scanned it before putting it in a bag, "Anything else?" He shook his head, No thank you." She tilted her head, "You look familiar." He spoke, "Do you watch court proceedings?" She nodded, "Yeah. Wait. Are you Apollo Justice?"
He nodded. After that, they exchanged numbers and he headed home. The girl was cute so he decided to text her as he sat on the couch.
AP: Hey, it's Apollo. Do you maybe, want to get dinner sometime?
(Y/n): Sure. When?
AP: How about tomorrow at 5:00?
(Y/n): Sure. See you then.
After that, Apollo headed to bed. He woke up early the next day, did his vocal exercises, and headed to work. Work was slow and he was excited to see (Y/n). Finally, he left work and headed to the restaurant. (Y/n) was waiting outside for him. She smiled at him, "Hey." They headed inside and sat down. She spoke, "So...uh...do you have a girlfriend?" He shook his head, "I'm too busy working to chase girls."
He tilted his head, "What about you? Do you have a boyfriend or?" She nodded, "Yeah." He spoke, "Oh. How long have you been dating?" She smiled, "Oh, we're married actually." He looked at her, "You seem kind of young to be married." She bit her lip, "Yeah, we kind of rushed into it. We got married when we were 19." Apollo nodded, "Oh. I see." She smiled, "He loves watching court proceedings. Mostly ones like yours or Phoenix Wright's." Apollo bit his lip.
"Does he know you're out with me right now?" She shook her head, "Nope. He's out of town." Apollo found that a bit strange, but ignored it. He spoke, "Next time we hang out, how about I meet him?" She agreed. So about 2 weeks later, he went to her apartment and met her husband,
(h/n). They hung out a lot that day.
After that, he invited them to lunch a few weeks later. He thought that she would've brought her husband, but she didn't. He spoke, "Where's (h/n)?" She smiled, "He's out of town." She sighed, "Yeah, my husband doesn't really trust me." Apollo tilted his head, "Why not?" She looked down, "I cheated on him." He looked at her in shock, "Uh, you did what? You did WHAT?" She looked at him.
"Yeah, me and my coworker...we just got to know each other really well and then one day after work he walked me to my car and then I just cheated on him." He looked at her, "Did he ever find out?" She nodded, "Yeah. I told him." Apollo spoke, "O-Ok." She continued, "That was the first time I cheated on him." Apollo looked at her in confusion, "So you cheated on him more than once?" She spoke, "Yeah."
"The second time, you know, it was just when they hired another guy at work and then I just...we were talking and I got to know him better..." Apollo questioned her, "Did he find out about that guy?" She nodded, "Yeah. I told him about that one and then I cheated on him again." She sighed, "It's just these new hires...I can't stop." Apollo looked at her, "You cheated on your husband three times and he hasn't divorced you?" She shrugged, "He thinks that if he divorces me that I'm going to go out here and just hook up with a bunch of guys."
Apollo tilted his head, "Uh...what does he think you're doing right now? Are these guys not scared your husband's going to show up at work one day and mess them all up?" She shrugged, "I don't know." They finished up at the restaurant and Apollo walked her back to her apartment. She invited him in and he accepted it. They played some video games and talked for a bit.
Soon enough, it was 6:00 and he decided to get going. He walked to the door with her following behind. He went to hug her and she tried to kiss him. Luckily, he turned his head in time and she kissed his cheek. To Apollo, it was like there was a line and she crossed it. Like, she literally took a flying leap and crossed the line. He got in his car and started driving home. Once he got home and parked the car, he texted her.
AP: Hey, that was not ok at ALL! You're a cool girl but we probably shouldn't hang out for a bit and if we're ever going to hang out again, nothing even remotely close to that can ever happen again.
(Y/n): I understand. I'm very sorry!
Then, one day, a few weeks later, he got a text from a random number.
???: Hey Apollo, this is (Y/n)'s husband. I went through her phone while she was in the shower and got your number. Wanted to reach out and invite you to her surprise birthday party that I'm throwing!-DON'T TELL HER!
AP: Ok. Sounds good. Lmk.
Apollo was confused, but assumed that he either didn't read the texts or she deleted them before he could see them. Then, later, he was lying in bed when he received a text from (Y/n). It had been months since they last talked. He opened it to see (Y/n) in the bath, a bubble bath, with her legs sticking out of the bubbles. So, he decided to text her.
AP: Hey, it's probably a good idea if you don't send stuff like this.
(Y/n): Why?
He then decided to call her, "Hey, this isn't going to look good if your husband ever sees you sending other guys pictures like that." She spoke, "He'll never see. He doesn't even know my password." Apollo bit his lip, "Let's just pretend he does. Do me a favor and delete our previous texts, ok?"
After that, he celebrated her birthday with her and her boyfriend at Dave And Busters. After that, they didn't really talk. Then one day, (Y/n)'s husband texted him.
(H/n): Hey man. Can you do me a favor and keep your distance from
(Y/n)? We're going through a lot right now.
He didn't sound mad so Apollo assumed that (Y/n) did delete the old text messages. Apollo texted him back.
AP: Sure thing. I'm traveling a lot in the next few weeks so that should make things easier also.
(H/n): I really appreciate you understanding. I don't know what she told you about our situation but our marriage has been through a lot and (Y/n) has a pattern.
After that, Apollo traveled out of town for a case. It was on the news and
(Y/n) saw that he was on his plane ride back. She texted him.
(Y/n): Hey, I saw on the news that you're at the airport flying back into town. Can I pick you up from the airport? What time do you land?
AP: Yeah. I land at 11pm.
So, she picked him up from the airport. As they drove, Apollo got another text from (Y/n)'s husband.
(H/n): Hey man, I don't know what part of stay away from my wife you didn't understand. I'm confused as to why you would ask her to pick you up from the airport when I thought we had an understanding.
Apollo sighed in annoyance and texted him back.
AP: I get you. Trust me - I've been keeping my distance. However, SHE saw that I was coming back into town and it was her idea to pick me up and felt that it was not only harmless but that she'd clear it with you first.
As soon as Apollo had texted him back, (Y/n) started a conversation, "So I'm going to divorce my husband." He looked at her in shock. She continued, "Honestly, I've been soul-searching and I think that's why I've been cheating on him so much because I'm trying to get him to divorce me, but he won't." She frowned, "First of all, he's a slob. Ok, I don't know if you've ever like had a roommate who was like a slob or anything, but he is the worst."
She continued, "He comes home, he takes off his pants and his underwear, and he throws them right in the middle of the living room. And they'll stay there for days. I'm not your maid, ok?" She sighed, "The sink, forks, knives, dishes, everything he touches! Just...the house is a mess. I'll clean, then the next day, it'll be a mess again. I can't stand it! It's gotten to the point where I can't take it anymore!"
"I tell him 'I think we need to start talking about going our separate ways.' And then he gets all apologetic, he worships the floor I walk on, and then he's super neat and super clean, and then as soon as he gets comfortable, the cycle starts all over again! And I think I've just gotten tired of the cycle constantly repeating. So as a way out, I think I just started cheating on him so that way he would just let me go and then he wouldn't."
"This is his last chance. If I tell him we're getting a divorce, he'll stop being a slob, and next time I see his underwear on the floor, that's it!"
Apollo then found out later on, that later that day, she went home and did exactly what she said she was going to do. She told him 'I want a divorce.', he said 'No baby! I'll change! Give me another chance!', she gave him another chance, and literally, she just had the hammer in the air, waiting to drop it. And after a while, he went back to being a slob and she dropped the hammer. And finalized it.
They broke up. So then he packed up all his stuff and moved. After that, she just fell off the grid. She stopped using social media. Every now and then she would go live on Twitch. Then she stopped getting on Twitch.
She disappeared for like a year and a half and then resurfaced on Instagram with a picture of her engagement ring. She found some new guy and she seems very happy with him.
