"MOM" I scream as something gushes out of me
"What is it?" Demi says as she runs in my room
"I think my water just broke" I say
"Don't panic just go on out to the car I'll be there in a minute" Demi says
I go out to the car and get in. Demi and madison follow behind with my stuff and some stuff for the baby.
"Mom it hurts" I say as Demi gets in the car
"I know honey it's a contraction I'll get us to the hospital quickly" Demi says
While Demi drives to the hospital I focus on my breathing. It's helping the pain a little bit. Once we get there Maddie grabs the stuff and Demi helps me inside. She gets a doctor and I'm given a room right away.
I change into the gown thing and lay down in bed. My nurse put an IV thing in my hand and now I'm waiting until I can get an epidural.
"It hurts so bad" I cry out
"Shh I know it does but soon you'll be able to get the epidural" Demi says
"Can you sing to me?" I ask
"Of course, what song?" Demi says
"Warrior" I tell her
Demi sings warrior to me until it's time to get the epidural. The doctor has me sit up and bend over so she can give me the epidural. She has to give it to me through a shot in my spine area.
I can't feel anything from my pelvis area down. My contractions are close together and I'll be able to start pushing soon.
"Mom you'll be able to stay by my side the whole time, right?" I ask
"Right" Demi says "everything will be fine"
"It's time" I say
The doctors are crowding around me but Demi's right by my side so my anxiety isn't high. I start pushing and Demi sings into my ear. A few minutes later I hear crying, so many emotions are going through my head.
"Good job baby girl" Demi says then kisses my forehead
I'm given time to rest while the doctors take Gracie to get her measurements and stuff done. Demi went to see how she is.
"She's perfectly healthy" Demi says as she comes back in the room
"When can I see her?" I ask
"Whenever you're ready" Demi says
"Go get her please I want her now and can you see if she can stay in here Instead of the nursery" I say
"Okay I'll be back" Demi says
10 minutes later Demi comes back in my room with Gracie. My heart melts when Demi hands her to me.
"She's so beautiful" I say
"She sure is" Demi agrees
Gracie starts crying so I wrap her back up in her blanket then help her latch on so she can eat.
"You're a natural" Demi says
"Nah I just remember some if this from when Tristan was first born" I say
"I still think you are" Demi says
"Breast feeding feels so weird" I say
"I bet it does" Demi laughs
After Gracie finishes eating I lay her in her little crib thing.
"I'm exhausted" I say
"Take a nap if she cries I'll wake you up" Demi says
"Alright" I say
I slept for about 10 minutes but Gracie's crying now. I change her diaper real quick then madison comes in.
"Hey mad" I smile
"How are you feeling?" She asks
"Pretty good, wanna hold Gracie?" I reply
"mhmm" Maddie says and takes Gracie from me
Since I already know how to take care of an infant and we're both healthy the doctors are letting me go home early. I just have to be careful and not not use the stairs until tomorrow. So now we're headed home.
