"Lyds?" A quiet voice called

It must have been some time in the afternoon when Lydia Greystone was startled awake once more and found herself tumbling out of her bed and onto the ground, landing on her good side.

With an angry sigh the girl rolled onto her back and stared up at the intruder only to find Monty and Octavia stood over her, practically laughing their asses off.

"Real funny guys. Seriously, not like I could have fallen on my bad leg and bled almost to death again."

"It's not our fault you sleep at the edge of the bed." Octavia beamed down upon her friend.

"Here." Monty smiled offering the girl a hand and pulling her up to her feet.

"Thanks." Lyds spoke, "Is there a reason you guys woke me up? Are we under attack or can I go back to sleep?"

"It's your turn."

"My turn to what?"

"No one told you?" Octavia rose a brow, "Raven got the radio working, we can video chat with the Ark now."

"So? I don't have any family left."

"Yes you do." Monty smiled knowingly, "Come on, I'll show you."

With a somewhat annoyed sigh, Lyds pulled on a raggedy grey sweater of Murphy's he'd left behind and followed Monty outside. The boy was filled with excitement as he lead his friend to the radio tent, she had no idea what was about to hit her.

"Sit." He spoke the second they were inside, pushing the shorter girl down onto her seat, "Put these on." He handed her the headset.

"Remember when we first met?" Monty asked

"Yes of course I do." Lyds chuckled, "It wasn't that long ago Mont."

"I know, I know... but do you remember how I knew who you were right away? And who your god father was?"

"You didn't-"

"Lyds? Are you there?" The all too familiar voice of Marcus Kane echoed across the tent, "Is that you?"

"M-Marcus?" The girl placed a hand over her mouth as she began to cry.

"Oh god you're still alive, I was so worried about you."

"I'm sorry, f-for everything." Lyds sobbed but a smile still stuck on her face, "I'm sorry for what I said and for taking my wristband off, I wanted to hurt you the way you hurt me and my-"

"You don't have to apologise for everything, I'm just glad you're alive and well." The man smiled, "So tell me how are things down there?"

"I-It's beautiful, you're gonna love it!"

"And camp? How is everyone doing there?"

"Great, Clarke has been like our leader down here, Bellamy is amazing too-"

"Bellamy? Bellamy Blake?"

"Yes-"

"He's the one who shot chancellor Jaha, Lyds don't tell me you're close to him? He's a killer."

"He hasn't killed anyone."

"Only tried to."

"He saved my life! He's all I have down here."

"You have Clarke, and Murphy and that Jasper boy too by the sounds of it-"

"Murphy is gone. Clarke is too busy leading us and Jasper is just my friend."

"So what does that make Blake?"

"I'm not doing this with you." Lydia snapped instantly regretting her actions once more, "Look Marcus... Bellamy is important to me, just like you. He's my family now, just like Clarke and just like the others."

"I just hope you know what you're doing."

"I do."

"Then I trust you, even if I don't trust him."

"Good, I love you Marcus."

"I love you too, I'll see you soon Lydia."

"May we meet again."

"May we meet again."

With those final words spoken the screen flickered to black and Lydia fell back into her chair, a tainted smile upon her lips.

"Thank you, thank you so much Monty." Lyds cried out before throwing herself into the boy's arms, "You're the best friend I could ask for- I could kiss you right now!"

"Please don't, Bellamy would kill me."

"Where is he anyway? I wanna tell him everything!"

"Him and Clarke are out looking for some supply depot, should be back in a few hours."

"Oh." Was all the freckled girl could say. Despite still being somewhat mad at him, Lyds had still wanted to tell Bellamy about making contact with her godfather, she wanted to be able to share that with him. He'd been right when he said she was all he had, because he was all she had and needed too.

"Don't worry, until he's back you get to sort rations with me and Jasper!"

"Lucky me."

***

Everything had descended into chaos all too quickly, it seemed whatever had been packed into the rations had caused the 100 to go crazy. Most of them were higher than they'd ever been, Monty and Jasper barely had any idea where they were and who they were, but Lydia Greystone seemed fine, or so she thought.

"Lyds? You still hanging in there?" Finn asked, wrapping an arm around the small girl's shoulders.

"I'm fine I just feel a little hazey."

"Let me or Raven know if it gets any worse alright? I gotta go help her with the others."

"Don't worry about me Finn. I got this." She smiled, "Just one question?"

"You see Murphy stood over there too right?" Lyds rose a index finger pointing right in front of the fence where no one seemed to be stood.

"Oh god." Finn groaned, "Okay, Lyds sit right here? Okay? I'll be right back just don't move."

"Okay Finn... Finn. Finn..." she dragged his the 'n' out, "I like your name."

"Lyds I'm begging you... Do not move, I swear to god."

With that said Finn ran away to find Raven, leaving poor doped up Lyds all alone with her own thoughts. She sat alone for some time, imagining where Bellamy was and how fun it would be to see him the same way, the girl couldn't help but miss him wherever he was. She always seemed to feel that way.

"Lydia..." a voice called out to her, "Over here."

As if someone was guiding her arm, Lyds climbed to her feet and headed towards the small gap in the fence knowing exactly where she needed to go and exactly what she needed to do. With a smile the girl shimmied through the gap only to be pressed against the fence by another pair of hands. He was home.

"Doll, there you are, I've been looking for you all over."

"I've been waiting for you." She smiled with a soft laugh, "You look really pretty."

Bellamy chuckled, his hand pressed against the fence beside her head, "You do too princess."

"I miss you, when you're not here you know? I miss you when you're here too."

"What do you mean?"

"We're always fighting. I don't want to fight Bell." The young girl began to cry and her forehead fell to rest against the man's chest.

"Then let's not fight... I came back to tell you I'm leaving Lyds, and I want you to come with me."

"Really?"

"Of course, I couldn't leave here without you, you're my number one."

"Wait here, I'll grab my backpack and some rations and we'll go."

"Okay, but first come here..." with a deadly smirk Bellamy pulled Lyds against him in an earth shattering kiss, the girl pulled away with a soft smile on her lips and pressed her forehead against his own, breathless.

"Get your stuff, quickly."

Within only a minute Lydia Greystone had crawled back through the gap in the fence, grabbed her backpack and some clothes, collected some rations for the both of them and met what she thought was Bellamy back outside of camp.

The pair walked hand in hand for hours until it was dark, sharing the rations between them laughing and telling jokes. Everything felt like a blur, almost as if it were unreal even as Lyds found herself crossing the bridge between her own and the grounders territory she couldn't help but think how dream like everything felt.

"Bellamy shouldn't we find somewhere to sleep? There could be grounders..."

"Don't worry I'll protect you... Couldn't let anyone hurt my love now could I?"

Lyds fought off an uncontrollable smile, allowing the idea of just how much she liked Bellamy to finally hit her.

"Bellamy I have to say-"

"Lyds? Lydia! Oh my god it's you, it's really you!"

The Greystone girl turned around with a furrowed brow, annoyed to find somehow interrupting her and Bellamy's stolen moments but her small body was filled with confusion once more when it was Bellamy who she laid her eyes upon.

"What's going on here?" The girl yelled, her blue eyes flickered between the two men.

"Lyds you're hallucinating." Bellamy, the real Bellamy, took her hand in his.

"What are you talking about?"

"The rations they made everyone hallucinate, why didn't you stop eating them when you realised?" The man hissed growing angry once more that he could have potentially lost one of the two thing that were left for him in the world.

"B-But I was with you..." her lip trembled, "I thought everything was fine, I-I thought I was safe."

"You're always safe with me, come on, let's get you home Greystone."

Silently, Bellamy wrapped his arms around Lydia's body and scooped her up into his arms. The girl was still trembling and so willingly wrapped her arms around the mans neck, wanting nothing more to be held not by just him, but by anyone.

"What happened to your face?" Her fingertips danced across the cut on his jaw, then his cheekbone, and finally his lips. Bellamy couldn't take his eyes away.

"How about I tell you some other time? When you're not so high and I'm much more pretty."

"You're always pretty."

"Thank you." Bellamy shook his head with laughter, "So are you."

"Am I going to be like this forever?" She asked, concealing her face in the crook of the Blake boy's neck.

"No, you won't be like this forever, it'll wear off in a couple hours, and until then it looks like I gotta keep an eye on you."

For some time the pair walked in silence, a weak and somewhat injured Bellamy carried Lyds in his arms and allowed the trauma of the day to fall from his shoulders. He'd been so happy to have finally found her that he'd almost forgotten about having to murder Dax to protect himself and Clarke. She was going to hate him when she found out...

"Why are you out here Bellamy?"

"Well... the second Clarke and I realised you were gone I grabbed my bag and the knife you made for me and I came after you, I was going to leave but something made me come back and now I know why."

"Why?" She asked the obvious question.

"I had to come back to save you, I came back for you because- because you're my friend, and we look out for each other right?"

Friend. There was that word again.

"Right."

"I don't know how you even got this far on your bad leg, we're gonna have to change your bandages when we get back to camp."

"I'm tired." The blonde whispered, leaning closer into his touch, "Are we almost there?"

"Almost home doll." He laughed

It seemed Bellamy's words were true because only seconds later they were walking into the camps gates and Lyds found herself being swept up in a hug by Clarke. The Griffin girl had been so worried about her friend, Lyds was all she had left from the ark and so she was terrified to lose her.

"Don't ever do that again!" Clarke hissed, "Do you know how worried I was when I got back here and you were gone?"

"I'm sorry, I was just following Bellamy..." Lyds admitted, "I didn't mean to scare anyone."

"She followed you?" Clarke asked her eyes fell upon the man.

"No, she couldn't have. I found her heading in the opposite direction."

It was silent for a moment as Bellamy guided Lyds to sit down on one of the logs in front of the fire and Clarke pondered what could have possessed Lydia to head out so late at night. And then it hit her.

"Bellamy, she hallucinated you. She must've thought you were leading her out there."

"S-She hallucinated me?" He stuttered, never tearing his eyes away from the young girl for a second.

"Everyone hallucinated what scared them or what was important to them... I guess you must be more important to her than we thought."

Bellamy had to fight hard to stop a smile from making its way onto his face, but the man managed to compose himself and bid Clarke a farewell before making his way back over to Lyds, who still sat alone staring into the golden flames.

"How 'ya doing?" Bellamy asked, an arm wrapped around her shoulders, "Feeling better?"

"I guess, I'm still tired though and my head feels funny."

"I told you it'll wear off, but until then let's get you to bed."

The whole situation was somewhat hilarious to Bellamy, the way she'd imagined him and had become so independent on him in the space of hours, the way she kept asking the most stupid of questions, the brown eyed man couldn't help but laugh, Lyds had never seemed so out of it yet so innocent at the same time.

"Bellamy?"

"Yes?"

As Lyds found herself being unnecessarily carried in Bellamy's arms once more she couldn't help but think about Bellamy's reasons for wanting to run away. Had it been because of someone in camp? Because of her?

"Why did you want to leave?"

"Because," he sighed, "when the ark and everyone on it comes down they're going to kill me. They'll have me floated or put in lock up with that damn grounder for the rest of my life and I just couldn't do it. But then I couldn't stop thinking about you and O, and the others, and Clarke somehow talked me around."

"I'm glad she did, otherwise I don't think either of us would be alive right now."

It was true, without Clarke and her kind words, both Lyds and Bellamy probably would have perished, alone, tired and scared. If it wasn't for Clarke, almost everyone would be dead.

"Me too Greystone."

With those words spoken, Bellamy pushed himself forwards into Lyds and Raven's tent, finding it vacant once more, and he lay the small girl down on the animal skin sheet.

"What are you doing?" Lyds asked, as Bellamy leaned down and began to untie her shoes for her.

"Let's be real Lyds, you're high on Jobi Nuts, you would've needed my help with these anyway."

"Oh, yeah." She nodded, "Thanks."

Anything for you. He'd wanted to say, but didn't want to allow her to see his only weakness apart from his sister. Her.

And so Bellamy stayed silent, focusing on the task at hand.

"All done." He smiled triumphantly, pushing himself back up onto his feet, but all in one motion Lyds caught his wrist in her hand.

"Can you stay? I'm scared I'll hallucinate again."

"You'll be fine Lyds, just yell if you need me-"

"Please Bell." That was it, that was all she had to say before Bellamy Blake fumbled at her will. The man let out a heavy sigh, laying down on the ground beside the girl's bed.

"This good enough for you princess?"

"You could always stay in Raven's bed, she's probably staying with Finn tonight anyway."

"I'd rather sleep here. God knows what has happened in that bed." He joked

"Thank you Bellamy." Lydia smiled, her hand grasped his, "For everything."

"I don't mind." He shrugged, "I guess I don't hate having you around too much."

"Idiot." Lyds whispered with a smile, keeping her eyes on the ceiling so Bellamy couldn't see her.

It was silent for a few moments, as Lydia began falling asleep and Bellamy lay silent on the ground, allowing everything from the day to sink in. He'd killed someone, and all he had wanted to do since the moment it happened was confide in his friend, but it would have to wait until morning. Until then he would just have to keep pretending.

"You gonna let go of my hand doll?" He smirked, leaning on one elbow to stare at the small girl.

It was then that the Blake boy realised his friend had in fact fallen asleep but with a soft smile upon her lips and his hand in hers. He almost fell in love there and then. Almost.

"Goodnight Lyds."

And with that Bellamy too drifted off into a nightmare filled sleep, but that was all okay because he had her beside him.

***

The next morning Lydia Greystone awoke with a smile on her face, she'd had her first good nights sleep since being on earth and it felt great. Of course she didn't remember much from the day before and was confused to find Bellamy on the ground beside her bed, but she didn't mind, she never did when it came to him.

"Morning loser." She poked the man's cheek

"Loser? That's really how you're gonna wake me after you made me sleep on the ground last night?"

"Yeah loser." The girl laughed, "Now get up, you've got a camp to run and I've got unity day celebrations to prepare for."

"It's really almost unity day?"

"Yeah it is, so get your ass up because I've got stuff I gotta do."

"No thank you for rescuing me Bellamy, no thank you for staying with me Bellamy, no you're my hero Bellamy?"

"I'll tell you all those things when you get up and get to work, I don't want to be the reason this camp falls apart."

Bellamy stayed sat on the floor of Lydia's tent and watched as she pulled on her shoes and Murphy's sweater once more. The girl didn't even spare him a single look as she manoeuvred her way around the tent, stepping over his legs and walking around him. He couldn't help but admire her, she was going to be the death of him.

The Greystone girl had to hide a smile, seeing Bellamy's eyes watch her every move around the small tent, it warmed her heart and suddenly she found herself dreading when the end was going to come.

"There a reason you're still in my tent?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Bellamy swallowed the sharp lump in his throat and prepared himself to confess, to tell her everything that had happened with Dax, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.

"Well?"

"Lyds, I-I did something bad."

Within seconds Lydia had turned to face Bellamy and was kneeling on the ground in front of him, it was her turn to watch his every move. "Whatever it is we can fix it."

"I'm a murderer." He pressed his head into his hands.

"Is this about Jaha again?"

"No, no it's not Jaha! Last night, before I came to get you, I went out to find the supply depot with Clarke-"

"What did you find?"

"Guns and lots of them, we need to discuss on who to give them to but I want you to have one, so you can protect yourself."

"Protect myself from what?"

"The grounders and f-from me."

"Bellamy tell me, what's going on?"

"Dax followed us last night. Shumway convinced him to kill me."

"Bell why didn't you come right back when you realised? Why-"

"He tried to kill me and Clarke, Lyds." He winced, recollecting on the memory, "He was choking me with my own gun and I saw a stray bullet on the ground and I grabbed it and I-I..."

killed him.

"You don't have to say it." Lydia breathed, wrapping the much taller man up in her arms. "You did what you had to do to protect yourself and Clarke, you're our leader Bell, none of us would be here without you so no one is going to blame you."

"Maybe I could've saved him, or tried harder to stop him!"

"He made his choice Bell, and you made the easy between living and dying." She whispered, "And I'm glad you did."

For a moment the pair found themselves staring into one another's eyes, knowing it would be so easy to just kiss one another, but that it was wrong. Wrong place, wrong time, right person.

And so the two prisoners pulled away from one another as if nothing had ever occurred in the first place. As if their feelings for one another weren't growing uncontrollably as the days passed.

"Thank you Lydia."

"Any time." The freckled girl pressed a kiss to the top of his head.

"Bellamy?" Clarke's voice called out tearing the pair away from each other, as she stepped into the small tent. "It's time."

"Time for what?"

"We're gonna speak to Jaha, to try to get him to pardon Bellamy's crimes."

"I'm coming with you, if Marcus is there then I can try to persuade him."

"She's right." Clarke shrugged, leading the two in the direction of the communications tent, "If we can't get through to Jaha then maybe it's worth a shot?"

"We've got to try something."

Silently Bellamy and Clarke sat down in front of the small computer screen, waiting for the moment Thelonious Jaha's face would inevitably light up the screen. Lyds stood behind them with a hand on both Bellamy and Clarke's chairs, she wasn't willing to let her boy go without a fight.

"Mr Blake." The chancellor's voice was heard before an image of him flickered to life, "I've wanted to talk to you for some time now."

"Before you do, I'd like to say something. When you sent us down here, you sent us to die. Most of us are still alive and a large part of that is because of him." Clarke turned to look at Bellamy,  "He's one of us and he deserves to be pardoned of his crimes just like the rest of us."

"Lydia Kane?" The chancellor spoke

"It's Greystone.

"Marcus tells me you speak highly of this man, so much that you see him as your own family."

Lydia blushed but still nodded her head, "I do. I wouldn't be here without him. He saved my life, surely that must count for something."

"According to your god father, it does. But it isn't that simple."

"It is." Bellamy spoke up, his eyes flickered between the two girls and the chancellor, "If you want to know who on the Ark wants you dead."

There was a moment of silence in which the Chancellor sat and thought it himself and Lydia Greystone prayed to whatever god there was that the man would make the right choice, that Clarke's, Marcus', Bellamy's and her own words had been enough to save him.

"Bellamy Blake, you are pardoned of your crimes. Now... tell me who gave you the gun."

"Shumway." Was all Bellamy said before taking Lydia's hand in his own and all but sprinting from the communications tent.

"You did it Bell!" Lyds exclaimed throwing her arms around the boy, he practically spun her around for everyone to see. Even Octavia, who watched with a smile.

"No, we did it doll! You and me." His forehead pressed against hers.

The freckled girl smiled, "You and me, Blake."
