Hindi ko mapigilan na mas mapasayaw pa ng bigla nang mastart ang beat part ng kantang Find You ni Zedd. It was Friday night and I'm in a club at Alabang with my friends. I had a very hectic and busy week at isang pangtanggal ng stress ko ang pagsayaw. So, noong inaya ako ng best friend ko na magclubbing ay hindi na ako nagdalawang isip pa at oo agad ang sinagot. So here I am, dancing the night away until I'm sweaty and tired.
"Kate!" Biglang sumulpot ng best friend kong si Zia sa tabi ko. "Kate! He is so handsome! Ang pogi nya talaga!" Biglang tili ng bruha.
"The who?" Kunot noong tanong ko.
"Si Tristan!" Sigaw niya na kinikilig na parang high school lang na nakakita ng crush.
"Tristan who?" Tanong ko pa din. Haixt! Wala na talaga akong kaalam alam sa happening sa society. Hirap talaga pang may napakahirap kang trabaho at napakastrict na boss.
She rolled her eyes at me as if can't believe what she is hearing. "Hindi ko na talaga alam kung ano ang gagawin ko sayo Katey dear."
I just innocently smiled at her. "So, who is this Tristan?" Tanong ko na lang with a fake interest.
"Tristan Pangilinan, the one of the most sought after bachelor of the Philippines." Sabi niya with her eyes twinkling.
"Ah, talaga?" Sabi ko in a bored tone and she looks at me like she can't believe what I just said.
"Ganun lang?!" Sigaw nya at hindi ko mapigilan na matawa.
"Wala akong pakialam ko siya pa yong most sought after bachelor of the whole wide world." Sabi ko. "Dahil hindi naman siya ang nagpapasahod sa akin, okay? Panira ka talaga ng fun ko Zia."
Umalis na ako sa dance floor at inawan si Zia. Pumunta ako a table namin kung saan nandun din yong iba naming friends. Parang nawala bigla ang gana ko sa pagsayaw.
"Oh? Bakit nakasimangot ka?" Tanong ni Mark, ang baklita naming friend.
"Si Zia kasi." Sabay kuha ng baso ko tapos nilagyan ng cocktail mixed from the tower that we had ordered. "Ano naman ang pakialam ko sa Tristan Pangilinan na yun." Maktol ko tapos inom nung drink.
Natawa naman si Mark at napailing. "Minsan talaga girl, hindi ko alam kung tomboy ka or papunta na sa pagigigng matandang dalaga."
"Sa tomboy? Hindi pa naman. Sa pagiging matandang dalaga? Tignan natin after 10 years." Natatawang sagot ko sa kanya.
"Ay, ewan ko na lng talaga sayo girl. Maganda ka naman with pleasing personality pa medyo mataray lang kung minsan. Pero ang nakakapagtataka iskung bakit hanggang ngayon wala ka pa ding Papa?" Madramang tanong nya.
"Pleasing personality? Ano ako cashier or sales lady?" Natatawang sagot ko sa kanya tapos sabay inom ulit ng cocktail drink ko. Ibang klase talaga ang mga banat ni Mark.
"Hopeless romantic kasi tong si Kate." Sabat ni Andy, ang isa din naming friend. "Naghihintay isya ng kanyang Prince Charming in a white horse."
"Hay girl, kung ganyan ang hinihintay mo, you will surely die a virgin." Dagdag ni Mark at napailing na lang ako sa kanilang dalawa.
Sa mga ganitong okasyon, my being NBSB is always the pulutan. My friends are fond of my being singleton and had always want to play cupid in my love life. But as time goes by, wala pa rin silang napana na lalaki para sa akin at sumuko na lang at nagdeclare ng retreat. Lumabas na ako sa cubicle at nag.ayos ako ng sarili ko sa may mirror sa sink.
May black shoulder length hair was all over the place, my face was a bit flush from dancing and the alcohol that I was drinking pero parang tao pa naman ako kung tignan. If Mark would be here, he would say that I am exaggerating and that I still look pretty even though I am drunk as skunk. Well, modesty aside, masasabi ko naman na noong umalan ng kagandahan eh nakadala naman ako ng malaking tabo. From the faint sound of the music inside the CR, I was greeted by the loud sound of it as I step out.
