Chapter 27

Tristan Pangilinan 

Hinawakan ko ng mabuti ang mag-ina ko, my left arm wrap around Kate’s waist while the other one was carrying Mia. Nagulat ko ng nakita si Selene at si Jade na pumasok at may kasama pang mga lalaki na may dala dalang mga baril. It looks like a classic scene in an action moive. But this not an action movie na halos gasgas na ang plot, this is real life. 

I never had expected that when I got the text saying that I will drop the one million pesos to this weird looking warehouse at Sta Rosa, Laguna that I would see not just Kate and Mia but also Selene and Jade. And it seems that they are the one who plotted this kidnapping. Pero bakit si Jade ay nandito? Ano ang kinalaman niya dito?

“You seem shock Tristan.” Nakangising puna ni Jade. “Hindi mo inaasahan na andito ako noh?” natawa ito na lumapit sa amin. “Who would have thought Jade Espinosa would team up with Selene Montgemery to kidnap Kate and Mia? Ano naman kinalaman ng isang hamak na editor sa isang mayamang super model diba?” Lumapit ito kay Selene at niyapos sa likod. “Well, let’s just say that I am also adopted.” She then place a kiss on Selene kiss. “Isn’t that right my dear sister.”

Kumawala si Selene sa pagkakayakap ni Jade sa kanya. “Kung ako lang sana ang pinili mo Tristan, this would not end up like this.” Umiiling ito. “But you had left me with no choice.”

Sasagot pa sana ako sa kanya ng biglang lumapit ang dalawang lalaki at kinuha si Kate at Mia sa pagkakahawak ko. Mia cried as she slowly let go from my grip while Kate just have a blank look on her face. I know that she is crumpling inside and just don’t want them to see it. I admire her more because of that. Matapang na babae talaga si Kate.

The other two guys come forward and hold me in both arms. Hindi na ako pumalag dahil sa nakatutok na baril sa kay Mia at Kate. I have to do this their way for now pero as soon as dumating ang mga pulis ay matatapos na din ito. Last minute before I enter the toll gate going to Sta Rosa ay tinawagan ko ang mga pulis explaining my situation. And I hope that not like in the movies ay hindi bulilyaso ang mga ito.

“What do want Selene? Do you think killing Kate and Mia would lead me to you?” Tanong ko sa kanya. “Hindi mo ba na isip that I will hate you if you would do that? Please let them go Selene.”

“Mas mabuti pang kamuhian mo ako Tristan kaysa makita kitang masaya na kasama sila.” She said as she caress my face. “I want you to suffer like I do. I want you to feel what is like to know that you can’t have the one you love. Na hindi mo siya mahahawakan, mayayakap o mahahagkan. I want you to go crazy with longing for them as you suffer with guilt because you will be the reason of their death.”

“Daddy..” Naiiyak na tawag ni Mia na may takot sa mukha.

“Tumahimik ka ngang tyanak ka!” Sigaw ni Jade dito. Halos nanginginig na si Mia sa takot at parang gusto kong suntokin si Jade dahil sa pagsigaw niya sa anak ko. Pero hindi siya ang dapat kung aalahanin ngayon kundi di Selene, I have to buy time bago dumating ang mga pulis.

“Selene.” Masuyong tawag ko sa kanya. “I thought that you had understand me when I told you how I felt about you. Selene, hindi lang ako ang lalaki sayo madami pa dyan. You should just open your eyes to see kung sino ang lalaki na para sayo. Wag  mong sayangin ang buhay mo sa akin.”

Tinignan niya lang ako na parang hindi niya naririning ang sinasabi ko. Lumapit ako sa kanya kahit na mahigpit ang hawak ng dalawang lalaki.

“You are beautiful Selene and a loving girl that I had met. Naalala ko ng una kang dinala nila Tita Thea sa bahay, you look afraid and shy at the same time at ang cute cute mo tignan. I thought of you as my sister instantly and I just want to play with you. Pinagselosan ka pa nga ni Mico dahil sa mas binibigay ko pa ang oras ko sayo. I was even begging  Mama to adopt you instead.” Kwento ko sa kanya, alam ko kasi na madaling lumambot ang puso ni Selene. Hindi naman siya masamang tao, her heart just somehow been blinded by jealousy. “Alam ko na ibang pagmamahal ang gusto mo sa akin Selene but I love you. Isn’t that enough for you to be happy about? Na kahit papano ay mahal naman kita?”
