It was a cold and winter day, Doyoung sat in the middle of his and Marks shared bed. Shamefully the younger went out to help Johnny with his vlog. But Doyoung just really wanted to stay home anyway, so aside from his slight jealousy, he lays on the bed covering himself up cozily in the blankets.
And it got him to thinking. When him and Mark had first met it was a grand time for the two really.

It was the summer and Lee-SooMan had just accepted the new people for his group. Turning out to be sixteen members. And upon those sixteen being Mark and Doyoung.
The first second Doyoung seen Mark, he smiled at the younger. He felt like now he had to take on a family role for the other. Hugging the other for the first meeting, Doyoung realized how special this kid was going to be.
Even when he had to sit there, and watch Mark be antisocial around the new group. Wanting to hide behind Doyoung as the others introduced themselves. Doyoung helped the boy be social despite his distaste towards it.

Doyoung smiles, he remembers when he first found out the other hated skinship. He was really confused, however he understood Mark was from Canada. However, that didn't stop him from trying. He smiles remembering he didn't give up even when the younger practically shooved the older away. But he didn't get hurt, not once.

It was the fjrst week in the new dorms, and Dyoung had good skinship with everyone except Mark. Even with being the savage bunny he was known as, he had his soft moments around the members. And he even always secretly pouted when Mark refused his skinship.
Doyoung would put his arm around the other, Mark pushed it away.
He tried to hold the others hand, Mark put them in his pockets.
He would even as far as going to hugging the other, almost making it impossible to escape. Mark just pushed him away.
Doyoung always left with a sad smile, he wanted Mark to accept it. And he even kept trying.
Despite every push hurt.
Every scoff, dug.
He smiled and just kept trying until he got through with the younger. Even when sometimes he'd go back to the dorm in tears. Wondering if the younger hated him.
Doyoun felt like a parental figure to him.
He needed Mark to trust him, and skinship was always a start for Doyoung. Once someone accepted his skinship, they accepted him. And it hurt, it felt like Mark didn't accept him. So at night he'd cry it out silently for the others to not worry. And the next day he'd try again, more skinship and more pain with Mark.

Doyoung smiles, he remembers the day he finally talked to Mark about it. He even remembers the youngers response. Because he talked to the younger it had actually changed their relationship for the better. And Doyoung will forever be grateful for that day.

"Hey Markie?" Asks Doyoung softly. He didn't want to scare the other.
Mark turns around and smiles at his hyung "hi hyung! What's up?"
"I know you don't mean it Markie... but I know you don't like skinship. I just feel closer to someone when I do skinship. And I want to be close to you" the older explains delicately, incase not to say anything to upset the other.
A frown appears on Mark's face" I'm sorry hyung... I am just not very good with skinship.. but I'll try harder!" He smiles at the end of his statment.
A smile finds its way to Doyoungs face, somehow he knew the younger would understand. And he is happy he does understand.
"And that is all I ask for Markie" he smiles. He wants the smile to stay on the youngers face.
"Ok hyungie" and with that Mark goes over giving the other a really big hug. At first it felt weird to the younger. But over the course of a few minutes he could see why the others didn't hate it like he did.
So he promised himself to have better skinship with his hyungs from now on.

So, in the middle of imyerviews Mark would give a side hug to Doyoung. Mark wouldn't back away as much from his hugs. Unless the other was upset than Doyoung understood.
Doyoung even once in the dorm got to give a kiss to Mark on the head. The younger was crying, and Doyoung kissed his head, telling him everything would be ok.

Doyoung smiles, he remembers those days. Mark was the best at the skinship and would go around hugging all the hyungs and dongsaengs and he wasn't exactly mad or thrilled about it.
He smiles remembers those days before he knew he liked Mark. It was a difficult time for him figuring it out.

It was any normal day, and Mark was going around hugging everyone. All twenty members, like always. And for some odd reason, one day it made Doyoungs blood boil. And he hated why he felt that way. Especially when he was the one who told the younger to be better at skinship.
But he hated how Mark would kiss Doungyuck's head, or kiss Jisung's head. Something about it made his blood fire. And he tried to keep it under control, and it mostly was.
Except for one day he sat there and watched Mark and Dounghyuck play around and have a lot of skinship one day. It seemed like the two were together, if it wasn't he knew Dounghyuck liked someone else. And he hated watching Mark pet the others hair, or touch his face, or kiss his face.
He despised it tremendously.
So, that day it was later he got tired of watching the two and he tore Mark away from the other. Of course the two objected it, but he couldn't care at the moment.
"Hyuung" Mark drug out in a complain.
Doyoung just walked away, not ready to explain what that was about.

Even when Mark ran into his room a little later that night yelling at the older. He didn't understand why Doyoung acted that way, but Doyoung think he knew. So he took the screaming.
Tears started slipping from his eyes and that was when Mark stopped. And he ran over to his hyung crying and apologizing. But of course Doyoung accepted it. Because that was how much he loved the younger and at least he knew.

It was early that night when Mark snuck into his room and layed down beside him. It wasn't unusual, Doyoung just thought the younger would ignore him because what he did was wrong. Doyoung still wrapped his arms around the younger that night- tightly.

"You look deep in thought prince?" Marks asks concerned.
A gummy smile appears on the olders face. Even know his love for the younger hasn't changed- except got stronger.
"Nah. Just thinking of the past" a dreamily chuckle left Doyoungs lips.
"What past?" Mark asks, curling up in the bed with Doyoung.
"Remember when I got really jealous of you and Dounghyuck?" A smile appears on Doyoungs face when he thinks of it now. Gods he was so dumb back then.
A smile made its way to Marks face too, obviously the younger remembered as well.
"Of course I remember hyung.. why the sudden thought?" Tilting his head in question.
Doyoung smiles, he can't help but always smile around the younger. Mark just had that much of an effect on him, and to be completely honest he imposed of the idea.
"I think that was the same time I realized I had feelings for you Markie" slipping his arms around the younger bringing him closer.
Tilting his head to the side, Mark wad generally surprised " really hyung??"
With another smile and a hum of approval. That was the answer to Marks question.

It was that night laying beside the other, having him close to him. Arms wrapped around the younger. He wanted to protect Mark, not just for a short time. But forever. He wanted to stand by Mark's side, hug his small frame whenever, kiss his soft face whenever, touch his smooth skin whenever. Doyoung was completely obsessed with the others presence and he wasn't upset by that idea either.
So, he did exactly that. He stood by the younger. Trying to be just friends, but even after a while a racing heart couldn't always be explained.
A sickening love look stuck in his eyes, a breathlessly sigh full of love and admiration. A touch that sometimes lingered too long and even others around them could tell. A stutter in laugh whenever Mark said something. Constant attention was always stuck on him. A racing heart, and shaking limbs were always present whenever the younger was around.
Shamefully, that was the time he realized he couldn't just have Mark by his side as a friend. He wanted Mark aound for something more. A boyfriend.

And so he now had to fight to have the other back again. He understood why Mark was so angry. He had no right to do what he did. And he felt godly awful about it.
And what made him feel worse was when one night he had to listen to Dounghyuck and Taeyong talk.
"Hyung.." an airy way took to Dounghyucks voice.
"What's the matter Hyuckie?" He could tell Taeyong was concerned.
'"I love Mark..." the stutter of each word in Dounghyucks voice. And when he said it, it hurt Doyoung deeply.
And he couldn't take it anymore, and walked away. Tears were rolling down his face. He slammed his door shut, locking it and letting the tears angrily and hot run down his eyes. Each breathe stung as he tried to grasp out in his breathing. Each turning into short quick chocked sobs.

The next day Doyoung didn't want to leave his room knowing what was going on. He didn't want to watch Mark accept Dounghyucks feelings. So he layed there staring at the wall longingly. It stung. He didn't even notice when hours went by, he didn't hear the door slam to the door. Nor the footsteps running to a room. He didn't hear when the same door opened again.
He did hear when Mark was yelling Dounghyucks name. He heard Marks steps running over the place to find the younger. Dounghyucks door slamming as well as Mark banging on the others door.
Doyoung went out to see what was going on, Mark crying by the youngers door. Doyoung went to hug him, he hated seeing him cry.
So taking Mark into his room, he let Mark cry out all the tears he had to, to feel better. Yes deep down it stung him to watch. But he comforted the other the best he could.
He didn't expect what came next out of the youngers mouth.
"He confessed and I told him I couldn't accept." The tears didn't stop for Mark shamefully. Remembering it only seemed to make it worse.
So sitting the younger on his lap, Doyoung held him close. Despite his rapid heartbeat, Doyoung didn't let his hold go on the child he has grown close to.
"Hyung" the other hiccups out. A soft hum left Doyoung to not startle the other.
"Why is your heart heating so fast?" Doyoung knew he was screwed.

"I'm glad you told me you liked me" Mark plants a kiss to the others.
"I am too" a content sigh left Doyoungs lips. He was glad after a while Dounghyuck moved on. And he's glad Mark is his.
"I love you Doyoungie" Mark cuddles up closer to Doyoungs chest.
"I love you too my darling Markie" Doyoung held him tighter. He always has.
Even with it being only the afternoon, the two fell asleep under the covers cuddled up close together. Usually they always have, but this was the first time the other members had seen.
A smile on both Mark and Doyoungs face while sleeping.
