3rd Person POV
[JP sat quietly on a bench outside highschool. He is found by Yugi, Joey, Tristan, and Tea]
Yugi: Hey, JP, what you up to?
JP: Nothing much. I'm just chilling.
Joey: How about you get off your lazy butt and duel me?
JP: I don't know, Joey.
Tea: Guys, he doesn't have to duel if he doesn't want to.
Joey: Don't be selfish, Tea. You got your chance to duel him, so I think I should get a chance.
Yugi: Something on your mind, JP?
JP: No. I'm good.
JP POV
[Of course everything isn't fine. For last several nights I've been having strange dreams and nightmares. I think that my duel monsters are coming to life. I also have a strange feeling that I'm being watched. I'm losing it! I haven't told anyone this but I don't know anything about my life before I met Yugi. I don't understand what's going on]
3rd Person POV
Yugi: I can see there is a lot on your mind, JP. How about we get your mind off things and duel?
Joey: Hey, I was in line first!
Yugi: Joey, I need to do this.
Joey: Fine. Whatever.
Yugi POV
[I was speaking to the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle who called himself, Yami]
Yugi: I must duel him but I'm afraid that I'll discover a truth that I didn't want to know.
Yami: Do you want me to duel him?
Yugi: No, this is something I must do. As his brother it's my duty to make sure he's okay. I'm going to do this alone this time, Yami.
Yami: Well, if you do lose then you need an excuse.
Yugi: Don't worry. I have one.
3rd Person POV
[JP and Yugi faced off and prepared to duel. JP closes his eyes trying to focus. When he opens his eyes they glow for an instance and then return to normal]
JP: (Thoughts) I'm not sure if I can do this.
[JP then hears a voice in his head]
Voice: Don't worry. You're not alone. I'll help you.
JP: (Thoughts) Where is that voice coming from?
[JP is confused on where the voice was coming from, but he shakes it off and gets ready to duel]
Yugi: You ready, JP?
JP: As ready as I'll ever be.
Yugi: Here we go!
JP: It's time to duel!
Turn 1- JP
JP-8000 LP/Yugi-8000 LP
JP: I'll go first. My turn. I place a monster face down in DEF Mode and end my turn.
Turn 2- Yugi
JP-8000 LP/Yugi-8000 LP
Yugi: My turn. I draw. I activate the spell card: Fusion Sage. This card allows me to add a Polymerization card from my deck to my hand. I will also activate another Fusion Sage. I now summon: The Dark - Hex - Sealed Fusion in ATK Mode!
The Dark - Hex - Sealed Fusion: Level 3- 1000 ATK/ 1600 DEF
Yugi: I end my turn with a face down.
Turn 3- JP
JP-8000 LP/Yugi-8000 LP
JP: My turn. Draw. I flip summon: Magician's Robe.
Magician's Robe: Level 2- 700 ATK/ 2000 DEF
JP: It won't stay for long because I now play the spell: Magic Dimension! By tributing Magician's Robe I can summon from my hand my most trusted ally! Come forth Dark Magician!
Dark Magician: Level 7- 2500 ATK/ 2100 DEF
[Dark Magician turns and nods to JP]
JP: With his arrival comes your monster's departure!
[Yugi's monster is destroyed]
JP: I'm not done. Not even close! I now summon Charging Gia the Fierce Knight!
Charging Gia the Fierce Knight: Level 7- 2300 ATK/ 2100 DEF
JP: Even though he is Level 7 I can summon him without tributing if I lower his ATK to 1900.
Charging Gia the Fierce Knight- 2300 ATK - - - 1900 ATK
JP: Now I overlay my Level 7 Dark Magician and Charging Gia the Fierce Knight! With these two monsters I build the Overlay Network! Appear. Rank 7! Ebon Illusion Magician!
Ebon Illusion Magician: Rank 7- 2500 ATK/ 2100 DEF
Joey: What's going on?
YugI: I've never seen a summoning technique like this.
JP: I now activate the special ability of my Ebon Illusion Magician! By using one Overlay Unit I can summon another Dark Magician from my deck!
[A second Dark Magician appears]
JP: I'm still not done! I now banish my Charging Gia the Fierce Knight and my Magician's Robe from my Graveyard! Watch as the powers of Light and Dark combine to summon a soldier who was here from the very beginning! I summon Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning!
Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning: Level 8- 3000 ATK/ 2500 DEF
[Black Luster Soldier appears and amazes everyone]
JP: Battle. Dark Magician, attack! Dark Magic Attack! Now the special ability of my Ebon Illusion Magician activates! When my Dark Magician attacks, I can banish a card on your field and I choose your face down!
Yugi: No!
JP: Now his attack continues! Dark Magician, attack! Dark Magic Attack!
Yugi: Ahh!
Yugi-8000 LP - - - 5500 LP
JP: Ebon Illusion Magician, attack Yugi directly!
Yugi: Ahh!
Yugi-5500 LP - - - 3000 LP
JP: Black Luster Soldier, end this duel! Chaos Blade!
Yugi: Ahh!
Yugi-3000 LP - - - 0 LP
Winner: JP
[Dark Magician nods at JP before disappearing. JP walks over to Yugi and helps him up]
JP: Thanks, Yugi, I do feel a little better.
Joey: I can't believe it. Yugi lost in three turns.
JP: Well he wasn't using his actual deck, Joey.
Yugi: You could tell that, JP?
JP: I trained with your deck, remember?
Yugi: That's right.
[Yami appears next to Yugi. JP sees him but shakes his head thinking that he is losing it]
Yugi: I had no idea you had a Dark Magician in your deck.
JP: There is a lot you don't know about me. (Thoughts) There is also a lot I don't know about myself.
[JP starts to walk away]
JP: I'm just going to go for a walk.
[JP walks away]
Tristan: I had no idea JP was that strong.
Joey: Yeah, it wasn't even close. I hope no one finds out that Yugi lost.
[Off in the distance, four individuals had watched the duel go down. Two of them were Mai Valentine and Weevil Underwood. The third person knew he had to tell his big brother right away that the King of Games had lost. This person was Mokuba Kaiba and he was off to find his brother Seto. The last individual simply just walked away and disappeared]
