Mani's P.O.V.
"Where's Mami?" I look up from the papers on my desk to the door of my office. Aiden is standing there with his football in hand. He's 15 now and sometimes his voice makes me think a grown man is talking to me. He's taller than all of us now and he's very muscular. From looking you would think he's older than what he is. I'm just glad he doesn't really have any facial hair yet. He has a strong jawline and the older he got the more he started to look like Lauren a little. It's still hard to believe my son is 15 now.
He got into football when he was ten and I guess that explains his physique. He wants to play football professionally but if that doesn't work out he wants to be a pediatrician. He's always loved kids and is great with his brother and sister. Jordan idolizes his brother; he wants to be just like him and asked us to let him play football two years ago when he was eight. Sierra loves her big brother just as much. He plays with her all the time and she's spoiled rotten by both Aiden and Lauren..
Aiden has a job tutoring elementary school kids and that's most likely what he's doing if he isn't at football practice or with his friends. Since his birthday is coming up, of course he wants to get a car. Lauren has been taking him driving since he's past the first part of his driving test. We agreed that if he can get half of the amount for the car, we'll give him the other half and since he's been saving for almost two years, I think he might just be getting that car.
Now Aiden is a good kid but he does have his faults. He can be very sneaky and he has a bit of a temper, which he had to get from Lauren. He's definitely very interested in girls, maybe a little too much and they sometimes are a distraction. He feels like he needs to go to every party even after Lauren and I have said no but Lauren and I were the exact same way in high school.
"I think she's working on something. Why do you want her?" I ask and he shrugs and tosses the football in the air.
"No reason. I'm just bored and I wanted to ask you guys something."
"What is it?" I ask.
"There's this party."
"Details." I say and he walks in and sits on the corner of my desk.
"It's a few blocks over, I'm walking with Adam and Brandon, I'll be home at 11, A girl named Melissa is throwing it and I don't know about the alcohol. Am I missing anything?"
"When it is." He nods.
"Tonight, it starts at 8." I nod and lean back in my chair.
"I'll talk to mami about it and let you know." He stands up and nods.
"Thanks ma." I nod and look back down at my papers. I'm trying to put together a closing statement but I can't because I still feel his eyes on me.
"Anything else?"
"Yeah...when you're done, want to go for a jog with me?"
"Sure. I'll be done in 30 minutes tops." He smiles and nods then walks out closing the door behind him.
We're still as close as we've always been and he's very open with Lauren and I most of the time. The only times he lies is when a girl is involved. I hate that but we've had the talk with him and I know he's not stupid so he's being safe if he's doing anything. I finish my statement and leave my office. I go to change my clothes and as I walk through the living room I see Lauren and Sierra playing with her dolls on the floor.
Sierra was another surprise. Lauren and I were already planning another baby, not knowing I was already pregnant. I had no symptoms with her really but around the third month I went to the doctor for a check up and they told me I was pregnant. The only thing that changed before I found out I was pregnant, was that I had gained some weight. She was a premature baby and was born a when I was almost 8 months pregnant. She was very small and I was afraid she wouldn't make it. I felt guilty that it was my fault because it took so long for me to realize I was pregnant. She stayed in the hospital for a month and a half before she was allowed to go home. She's fine now though, just your average seven year old. She looks just like me but has Lauren's hair color.
I go to my room and go over to the window. I can see Jordan outside working on his basketball skills. He likes a lot of different sports. He's the most energetic out of all three of our kids. He's a little chatterbox too but he's adorable. He has high cheekbones and blue eyes. His smile could brighten anyone's day no matter how bad it was and he's the most curious person I've ever met. He's a real sweetheart too and loves animals. He begged us for a puppy and we finally got him one a few months ago on his birthday.
I change my clothes and put my hair up into a ponytail as Lauren comes in.
"Where are you going?" She asks.
"On a run with Aiden. He wants to go to a party today."
"You think he should go?" She asks and I shrug.
"I don't see why not."
"Then let him go." She says with a shrug. She sits on the bed and grabs her book from the nightstand.
"So what are we doing today?" I ask and she shrugs.
"Finish my book...that's all I got." I chuckle and walk over to her. I sit in her lap and put my arm around her neck.
"Well your day sounds boring but your night...definitely won't be." I whisper the last part in her ear and drag my teeth over her earlobe. I feel her shiver slightly and I smirk.
"Why wait until tonight?" She husks then kisses my neck.
"You know why, now get off of me." I push her back but she grabs my hand and kisses my neck again/ I lean away from her and she pulls me back and kisses all over my neck. I laugh and I feel the vibration of her laugh on my neck and I laugh harder.
"Stop!" I say as I try to stand but she pulls me back on top of her.
"Ma...should I come back?" Aiden says from the doorway. I look up at him as Lauren keeps laughing and I shake my head.
"No. Ready?" I ask and he nods. I kiss Lauren before I get off of her and walk to the door.
"We'll be back soon." I say as I walk out.
"Have a good run." I hear as Aiden and I walk to the front door.
I sometimes don't believe I've been married to Lauren for eight years but we've been together for around ten. I'm not going to lie, I thought she was going to revert back to her old self and we'd run into the same problems we had before but it never happened. I love the life we have together.
Lauren's P.O.V.
After Aiden and Normani leave, I go to read my book but just put it back on the nightstand. I don't really feel like reading anymore. Mostly because I'm pretty sleepy. I could attempt to take a nap but I'm pretty sure Jordan or Sierra or both will interrupt me the second I fall asleep. I love motherhood and all but sometimes I just need to not be bothered.
It seems like yesterday I opened my door to a find a little green eyed boy on the other side of it. Watching Aiden grow up has been a little surreal. The voice change and the growths spurt, how the hell he got so tall, I'll never know. He's almost 6 foot now and he isn't even done growing. My kid is awesome though. He made first string his freshman year and he's the quarterback. He actually caught the eye of some colleges already. How many people can actually do that their ninth grade year? He's going straight to the NFL, I know it.
I'm definitely his biggest fan and everyone says it. I go all out when we go to his games, I get face paint, I'm the loudest one out there and I've almost gotten into plenty of fights with the referee and other people in the crowd. My kid is the fucking star of that team and Mani is the reason why he even got into football. She showed him some of our old cheerios videos and he said he wanted to do that. I thought he was talking about cheerleading but he meant football, he barely paid attention to us. I'm really proud of him though and so is Normani. I actually framed his Jersey and have it hanging up on the wall. It's gold and white with Jauregui and his number, nine, on the back of it.
I legally changed his name to Jauregui after he'd been with me for a year. I wanted to make sure he wanted it before I did it. Normani till hasn't been able to adopt Aiden because I fucked up. It's a long process and I forgot a step and basically the adoption was invalid but we are going to try again. It took Mani and I about two years before we actually got married and she ended up taking my name. She still goes by Normani Hamilton as a lawyer but goes as Jauregui with everything else. I didn't actually want her to take my name, I was going to take hers but she said she might as well be one since Aiden and I are. She wanted us all to have the same last name.
I sit up on the bed and stretch when I hear the door open.
"Mami?" I look towards door at Jordan and he looks down guiltily. What did he do?
"Did you break something else?" I ask and he bites his lip then sighs.
"It was an accident!" He stresses and I shake my head. This kid is so clumsy we have to keep certain things away from him.
"What is it?"
"Well..."He pauses and plays with his fingers before taking a deep breath.
"I was practicing my free throws and I threw the ball through the backboard." I furrow my eyebrows.
"Through the backboard?" I ask and he nods. I get up and go to the living room, I look out the window and yeah...there's a hole through it.
"How the hell did you do that?" I ask and when I look at him he shrugs.
"Lo siento Mami." I chuckle and shake my head.
"It's fine. We'll just have to replace it. You must be like the Incredible Hulk or something. Who knew you were that strong?" I say to lighten the mood. He smirks and I run my hand through his hair as I walk past him.
"You're not mad?" He asks as he follows me out to the patio and I shake my head.
"I'm used to you breaking everything. I surprised you can walk without falling." He gives me a mock glare and I can see the smile pulling at his lips. I wink at him and he giggles. I sit on the steps and he sits right next to me.
"Where's mom and Aiden?" He asks.
"They went for a run. Why? Don't want to be alone with I?" He shakes his head.
"I love you but being alone with you is dangerous sometimes." I chuckle and look at him.
"Same goes for you." He grins and I nudge his shoulder with mine.
"Where's your sister?"
"I'm right here mami!" I hear a high voice squeal then feel a weight on my back and see small arms wrap around my neck.
"I should have known this little monster would show up." I turn slightly and lift her then put her down on the step in front of Jordan and I.
"I want some ice cream. Can I have some ice cream?" She asks and I shrug. We haven't had dinner yet and I know Mani will be pissed I let them have it but...whatever.
"How about we go get some sundaes?"
"Yay!" Sierra squeals as she jumps up and down.
"We'll leave after Jordan and I clean up the glass from the backboard he broke." I point to it and she turns her head and says ooh for a while like all little kids do. I shake my head and look at Jordan.
"Go get the broom." He nods and gets up then goes in the house. I look at Sierra and as I go to tickle her, I notice something off with her face. I bring her closer to me and rub my thumb over her cheek. I pull my hand back and look at my thumb. Just what I thought.
"What have I told you about playing in our makeup?" I say and she pouts.
"But I wanna look pretty." She says and I shake my head.
"You are pretty, just the way you are. You don't need this junk." I say as I stand and hold my hand out to her. She takes it and we walk up the steps and back in the house.
"But you and mama wear it." She says and I shake my head as I walk her towards the bathroom.
"Mama is beautiful without it. Don't you think so?" I ask and she nods her head. I grab a towel and bring her into the bathroom. I put it under the warm running water then wring out the excess water.
"Sit on the tub." I instruct and she sits down.
"Your skin is way too sensitive for this shit." I say as I crouch down in front of her and wipe her face.
"You said a bad word." She says and I smirk.
"I did. Don't tell mama okay?"
"If I don't tell can I have sprinkles?" I nod and she grins. I finish cleaning her face and we leave the bathroom.
After I go help Jordan clean the driveway, we go to an ice cream shop. We've been here about an hour and Mani text me maybe 20 minutes after we got here. She didn't say too much about the ice cream thing. After they finish they're ice cream we go back home. Normani is in the kitchen cooking and Aiden is nowhere in sight. The kids go talk to Mani for minute then go to the living room. Normani leans over the counter and looks at her phone.
"What are you doing?" I ask as I walk behind her.
"Checking an email." I wrap my arms around her waist and lean on her back.
"Work related?" I ask and she nods her head.
"New evidence." I rest my chin on her shoulder and kiss her jaw.
"Stop working." I say and she turns her head towards me.
"Why should I?"
"Because I said so." She raises her eyebrow then turns her head back to her phone. I take the phone from her hands quickly and she tries to grab my hand but I'm too quick. I move away from her and she follows me.
"Give it back jackass." She says as she follows me out of the kitchen.
"No. This email can wait or...I could just delete it." I say with smirk.
"Don't you dare." I scroll through her phone, pretending to delete it and she runs towards me. I run towards the back door but she jumps on my back before I can get there. She reaches for the phone but I hold it out of her reach.
"Give it!" She tries to shimmy up my back and grab it but I put it lower.
"Lauren!" She yells and I laugh.
"I didn't plan on having you scream my name until later."
"Give me my phone you perv!" She bites my neck and I push her off my back and run outside. She quickly follows me but slows down as I do.
"What happened to the hoop?" She asks.
"Jordan." She says at the same time as me and she nods her head at her own question and answer.
"Give it here now or you're cut off." She says and I roll my eyes and walk backwards towards the end of the driveway.
"You cave after a week. My tongue is your weakness." She chuckles and shakes her head.
"Lauren."
" Normani." I say as I keep walking,
"How about this? I'll give it back if you blow me."
"I would bite it right now so I doubt you want that." I cringe slightly and keep walking. We're pretty far from the house now.
"Alright how about a race?" I say and she raises her eyebrow.
"To where?"
"Back to the house. You win I'll give you the phone, you lose and we go take a shower together." Normani thinks this over a bit before nodding.
"Okay." I stop and wait for her then when she's right next to me I put her phone in my pocket. We line up and she positions herself by putting her right leg in front of the other and crouches down slightly.
"Ready? Get set." When I say this she puts her fingertips on the ground and her ass in the air. I can't help but look. She's in shorts and a small T-shirt. God she has a nice ass.
"Stop staring at my ass and say go." She says and I roll my eyes and get ready.
"Go!" We both take off running and we're pretty much neck and neck the entire time. The closer we get to the house though the more she's passing me. Fuck. I push her shoulder lightly and she laughs as she makes it to the house first.
"I win! Give it up!" She says as she holds her hand out. I roll my eyes and place the phone in her palm. She smirks and wraps her arm around my waist then moves closer to me.
"We can still take that shower though, think of it as your consolation prize." I laugh and she kisses my lips.
"Let's go before the house burns down." I say and she nods her head but kisses me again, more passionately though. I pull her flush against me by her hips and she moans slightly when I bite her lip. She starts to pull back and I try to keep her close but she gently pushes me back.
"Later okay?" I sigh but nod my head and she takes my hand then leads me back into the house.
