I woke up the morning of our six month anniversary wrapped in Cole's arms, one of his hands running through my hair. He pulls me closer, tightening his arm around me. I sigh happily, moving my head so I can meet his eyes.
"Good morning." I mumble out, groggily. Cole smiles, his hand continuing to play with my hair.
"Good morning Angel, happy anniversary." I smile widely, snuggling deeper into his chest.
"Happy anniversary." I say. It's so surreal. Time has flied by so quickly. I can't believe how much has happened in such a short time.
"I can't believe we've been together for six months!" I say, slipping out of our warm bed to get ready for school. Cole sits up on his elbow, his eyes trailing down my figure, lingering on my bare legs. I blush deeply at his stare.
"Are you sure you're not tired of me yet?" I joke, trying not to show how flustered I am. Cole was up in an instant, his arms wrapping around my waist, pulling my back against his chest.
"I'm never going to get tired of you Angel. How can I get tired of the most beautiful girl in the world?" He whispers in my ear, his breath hitting my neck, causing me to shiver. I twist around, circling my arms around his neck, pulling his body against mine.
"You are so sexy when you compliment me." I say, feeling flirty and confident. He smirks down at me.
"Only when I'm complimenting you?" He teases back, placing a kiss on my neck, near where my mark is. I giggle.
"Always." I say and I press my lips against his, his arms pull me closer. Before he could kiss me deeper, I pull away, making him groan.
"We should start getting ready for school before I get too comfortable." I peck his lips once more and pull away. Cole groans again and pulls me back in his warm embrace hugging close.
"Come on babe, as much as I would love to stay in your arms all day, we need to get to school, we wouldn't want our big bad Alpha to be late for class, would we?" I say, wiggling in his arms, trying to get free.
Cole sweeps me off my feet, making me squeal and wrap my legs around his waist. He carries me into the bathroom and sets me down on the counter, he stands in between my legs, making butterflies flutter in my stomach.
He lays his hands on my bare thighs, making my skin feel like it's on fire as I intertwine my fingers together behind his neck.
"You get prettier everyday," Cole says, his hand cupping my cheek, his thumb tracing my cheek.
"How am I supposed to let you walk around our school with all those guys looking at you?" He says.
I laugh, thinking he was messing around with me but his expression is serious. It's so sweet that he is jealous, that he thinks guys even look at me.
"You can't be serious." I giggle at him. His hands slide up to my waist, pulls me closer to him -making me yelp in surprise- until I was on the edge of the counter, my legs wrap around his waist again, worried I'd fall off.
"You have no idea, do you?" I look at him confused. He chuckles as if I did something funny.
"You have no idea how beautiful you are. I get so jealous every time a guy lays his eyes on you. Sometimes I hold your hand tighter, I hug you closer, just to remind myself you're all mine." My heart beats faster at his sweet words. I pull him closer to me, pecking him all over his face, he chuckles while I do.
"You are so sweet! I can't believe you are all mine!" I peck his lips. I look into his eyes, green, dark, and beautiful.
"You are unbelievably hot and sexy, a big, strong Alpha, you have no idea how jealous I get every time girls look at you, werewolf or otherwise. It makes me want to lock you in our bedroom and never let you out again." Cole smirks at me, leaning towards me until we are only an inch apart.
"I wouldn't mind that." I snort at him and try to shove him away from me, he doesn't budge.
"Don't worry Angel, it's only you and it will always be only you." He grabs my hand, placing it on his bare chest where his tattoo lays. I love this man more than anything in the world.
"We need to get to school. I need to get ready, can you use one of the other bathroom first please?" I ask, giving him my best puppy dog eyes. He smiles lovingly at me, not questioning why I want him to use the different bathroom. He moves away from the counter so I can get down.
"Of course Angel, anything for you." I smile widely.
"You spoil me. Don't come in here until I'm done, okay?" I say, jumping off the counter and standing on the tip of my toes to kiss his cheek. He nods and grabs his clothes and heads out of our bedroom.
I wanted to get ready without Cole here because I wanted to surprise him. I'm going to straighten my hair, put on the dress I bought, and a little bit of makeup.
I know it's too fancy for school but I don't care, it's a special day. What girl doesn't want to make an entrance? I was nearly ready when Cole's voice sounds in my head.
'I'll be downstairs waiting for you Angel.' I smile and apply my pink lipstick. I grab my things and head towards the elevator.
'I'm heading down now.' I mind link Cole.
'I'll be waiting.' He mind links back. I smile to myself. The doors open on the ground floor and I step out of the elevator where Cole is waiting for me.
My eyes connect with his and I smile widely at him. His eyes trail my face and down my body, his gaze like fire trailing down.
My eyes trail down his figure, admiring his outfit, black denim jeans with a blue button up shirt. He looks so handsome. I notice he has one hand behind his back. I walk towards him, my eyes only on him, the whole world melting away.
A stunning smile hits his face, his eyes darker than before, making me blush fiercely. Cole meets me halfway, his body moving towards mine.
"You look absolutely beautiful." I bite my lip instinctively and blush under his intense gaze.
"You look very handsome yourself." I say, moving closer to him. He holds out his free hand to stop me. I frown, confused.
He moves his hand from behind his back to reveal a dozen pink roses. I smile widely. How sweet! They are my favorite flowers.
"Thank you, they're beautiful." I lean down to smell them and I quickly head into the kitchen to grab a vase. I wish I could bring them with me to school but it would be better not to move them from place to place.
I head back to Cole as he holds out his hand to me and I take it, his warmth enveloping me as we head out of the house and to school. We arrive at school with a few minutes to spare. The moment I step out of the car, eyes follow me. Maybe I shouldn't have worn this fancy dress to school.
"Don't worry, you look gorgeous, that's why they're staring." I smile and kiss his cheek, intertwining my hand with his. We head inside and towards my locker where our friends are already waiting.
"Look how cute you two are. I love your dress Scar!" Brooke says, smiling widely. Cole moves in front of me, holding our enjoined hands above my head. He smiles down at me as I look confused at him.
'Twirl Angel.' Cole mind links me. I giggle and twirl, showing my dress to Brooke and the boys. The boys hoot and holler, making me giggle and blush.
"Hey now, she's mine." Cole says, returning to my side, his arm going around my waist. All our friends have wide smiles on their faces and it makes my heart feel full knowing they care so much for Cole and I.
I know it may not be a huge deal to be together for only six months but it means a lot to me because I never thought I would be here with such an amazing guy, who I know I'm going to marry one day, at eighteen years old.

Every period went by like normal and before I knew it, school was over and Cole and I were walking into our favorite restaurant. Cole has been so unbelievably sweet today. For lunch he even planned a picnic on the football field.
I honestly feel bad. He's done so much for me and I haven't been able to do anything for him yet. I have a surprise for him after dinner and I can't wait to show him. Cole pulls out my chair for me and I thank him. After we order, Cole grabs my hand.
"Today has been so much fun but I feel like I haven't done nearly as much for you." I do have a surprise for him after dinner but other than that, today has mostly been centering around me. He chuckles.
"It's okay, I wanted to spoil you and I know today is the only day you would let me." I shake my head at him.
"I have something for you, I wanted to wait until after dinner but I can't." He walks towards me and takes my hand. He pulls out a small box and opens it. I gasp at what lays inside, a beautiful emerald ring. Cole grabs my right hand, slipping the ring on my ring finger, fitting perfectly.
"I love you. The way I feel about you can't be described into words, all I know is I want to be with you forever and I will do whatever it takes to protect you and make you happy for the rest of our lives."
"Cole..." I trail off, my heart beating rapidly.
"This ring symbolizes my love for you and my promise to replace it, someday soon, with a diamond one." I smile widely and throw my arms around his neck.
"It's beautiful, thank you so much." He pulls back and looks into my eyes. I smile and lean towards him and he freezes, his eyes glazed over, unfocused. Someone must be mind linking him. I hope it's nothing serious.
"Is everything okay?" I ask as Cole's eyes come back into focus. He frowns, his brows furrow together.
"I'm so sorry, I have to go, there's an emergency at the boarder. I'm so sorry, I promise I'll make it up to you." Cole says, rising to his feet and setting money down on the table.
"Callum's outside, I'll have him join you." I grab his hand, stopping him from leaving.
"Be careful." He nods, softly kisses me, then leaves. Callum walks through the door as soon as Cole leaves. I stare down at my new ring, shinning with the promise he made to me, as I pray that whatever is going on isn't something serious. As soon as Callum sat down a different waiter then before set a soda down in front of him.
My eyebrows furrow in confusion. Why would they bring him a soda he didn't order? Callum picked the drink up and drank it all in one gulp. Only seconds later Callum starts to seize and falls to the ground.
"Callum!" I scream, falling on my knees besides him. He continues to shake, his eyes rolling to the back of his head. I have to do something. Can I call 9-1-1 for a werewolf? I close my eyes and reach out, to the pack, the entire pack, to anyone that can hear me.
'Someone help me! This is an emergency, I need immediate help at 2448 Wilson Ave, pack guard down, pack guard down. Someone help him please!' I mindlink out desperately. I am immediately met with many people telling me they are on their way, so much chatter that my head started to hurt but I pushed it all aside.
Callum started to foam from the mouth as tears run down my face. I shift him onto his side so he doesn't choke. I held his head in my lap as I sobbed, feeling completely useless. I gasp as I feel a sharp prick in my neck and everything turns blurry.
I lose all control of my body and the last thing I see is Callum, laying motionless and helpless.
Cole's POV
I run as fast as I can, mine and James' paws beating against the ground. Rushing back, I shouldn't have left. Once I heard Scarlet's cry for help I knew that the rogue at the border was a distraction. Please God, please not again.
I told her that I would protect her. How is it that I've been able to protect an entire pack but I can't protect my mate?! I growl ferociously as I enter the parking lot, shifting back and putting a tank top and basket ball shorts. I run as fast as I can through the doors and down the bright hallway.
"Sir! Sir!" Someone yells at me but I ignore them, marching ahead to the emergency room.
"Where is she?!" I yell, a growl in my voice, my eyes searching everywhere for my Angel. A male doctor comes over to me.
"Calm down sir, tell me who you are looking for and I can find them." He says.
"Scarlet, Scarlet Paine, my girl friend, where is she? I was told she was brought here by ambulance a couple minutes ago." The doctor nods and picks up a clipboard going over it.
"A young woman was admitted a couple of minutes ago, no physical evidence of any harm, she was unresponsive when medics arrived-"
"What does that mean?!" I yell impatiently. He sighs and a nurse hands him something, he reads it and looks up at me, pity in his eyes.
"They found a needle mark in her neck, we are doing labs to test what she could have been injected with but so far she isn't responsive to any stimulants." I growl in anger.
"What does that mean?!"
"Whatever was injected into her system is causing her to be unresponsive. Until it's out or we know what it is we can't determine the damage, not until she wakes up."
