"Do we have to do this now?" Rex groans.
"Yes! You're my soulmate, and I want my parents to get to know you, the real you. You'll be fine Rexie." You answer, kissing his cheek, he just turned a little pink and begrudgingly let you pull him along to your house. He's always either walked you to your house or drove you after dates. You squeezed his hand in reassurance and he squeezed back. You knew he was nervous, but you also knew that your parents liked him, well your Mom thought he was sweet, walking you to your doorstep and giving you a kiss goodnight on your forehead. (She watched through the window near the door). Your Dad on the other hand, he was still protective of you and his first impression of Rex wasn't exactly a good one for him. A stranger hugging his little girl? He still needed a little convincing. You walked up the stars with Rex following you, come on Rex, you've fought EVOs the size of buildings! It's just a little dinner with (Y/N)'s parents, you'll be fine, Oh god, what if you mess up and her parents keep her from seeing you or convince her that you're bad news,
"Stop it"
"S...stop what? I'm not doing anything"
"I know that face, you're coming up with worst case scenario stuff" you stood in front of him and put your hands on his shoulders, rubbing circles with your thumb.
"I love you Rexie, and so will my parents I promise"
"But what if they don't, a lot of people know what I do and I'm on the news constantly what if...what if they know I'm an EVO, what if they know and don't like me for just that reason?"
"Rex my Mom already knows about you"
"She does? How?"
"She watches us from the window when you say goodnight to me after our dates, and by the way, she thinks your awesome."
"Really?" He seemed to brighten at this, you nodded.
"Uh, what about your Dad?"
"He'll take a little convincing, but if anyone can convince him that you're perfect for me it's you" you tell him, he smiles, his self-esteem going up a few levels just by the sheer confidence you have in him.
"Alright, let's go..." You hummed in content and pecked his lips.
"Alright follow me" you open the door and took of your shoes, Rex doing the same thing after a pause of looking around the house. He's lived at Providence ever since he could remember and the only other house he's been at was Noah's and it was weird not seeing books of various subjects covering every available surface. After taking off his shoes he followed you.
"Oh (Y/N)! Is this your boyfriend? I'm (Y/N)'s mother but you can call me Mom oh this is so exciting, please come in. This is my husband (D/N)" your Father merely grunted doing that behind wave thing while his other hand touched the baseball bat leaning against the couch.
"Dad!"
"What? I'm thinking of beating the Patriots coach! That's all!" He defends himself, you roll your eyes.
"Hey Mom, what's for dinner?"
"Just some simple pasta"
"Do you need help?"
"Oh no thanks sweetie I got it, why don't you show Rex your room, but leave the door open please. I don't want any grandbabies anytime soon." You turned red.
"Mom!"
"What? I'm just saying..."
"Keep that door open or I break it down with my bat!"
"Alright Dad" he 'humphed' as he continued to watch the game as you led Rex up to your room.
"Whoa, hey I remember these" he grins, pointing to the string of fairy lights across your room that held different photobooth strips of you and Rex at different dates, almost every single one had you two kissing at the second to last one and the last one you would be looking into each others eyes while grinning like dorks. The ones where you were beginning to date were much different, even though Rex acted all confident and suave he was still nervous about kissing you randomly on the lips so it would usually be on the cheek or something. He was usually the one to start the kisses, but sometimes when he either had a rough day or was out of it for whatever reason you would try to cheer him up with a kiss on the cheek or the corner of his lips when you were really feeling bold. Now it was almost tradition that you kissed in the photo booth.
"You kept them all" you could see the big grin on his face as he saw one for every date you went on with him.
"Of course I did, you're my soulmate, why? What happened to yours?"
"I don't really have anywhere to put them...so I kinda keep them under my pillow...so...when I go to sleep...maybe the memories we have could give me good dreams, it sounds stupid when I say it out loud."
"It's not stupid Rex, believe it or not I keep the photos here so even if you're not physically here...with me, you'll still be here, watching over me."
"Aww (Y/N)! C'mere and give me a hug!" He held his arms out for a hug and you playfully rolled your eyes accepting the hug. You loved Rex's hugs, they were just the right amount of tight to let you know he was there and loved you, but not so tight he's squeezing you to death. Then there was also his scent, it was kinda weird to you at first but you got used to it and it was one of your favorite scents ever. He smelled like machine oil, the earth and wind all at once, sometimes one scent was stronger than the others depending on what he did and how many builds he used. You buried your head in his chest as you enjoyed the moment, listening to his strong and steady heartbeat. Rex's chin rested on your head as he looked down at you. He breathed in a happy sigh of relief and rested his cheek on the top of your head. God, did he love you, and the mere fact you had every single photobooth strip in perfect condition made his heart soar. What he didn't tell you is that everyday he carried one of the strips out of his growing stack with him so before a big fight he could look at that picture of you two having fun and remember the main reason why he fights now, especially since he's been getting such a hard time from other people about him being an EVO lately.
"I love you, so much" he whispers into your hair, he didn't notice it but you two began to sway to a rhythm only the two of you could hear.
"I love you too Rexie" you hum, tracing shapes with your finger on his shoulder. He kissed the top of your head and buried his face in your hair again. You heard the click of a polaroid and you and Rex looked up to see where the noise came from, but it was just your Mom with the polaroid.
"Sorry I couldn't resist, you two are absolutely adorable together! This is going in the family photo album- Anyway dinner's ready!" She tells you guys, you both left the hug at the same time while still holding hands, your face red with embarrassment.
"Sorry about my Mom, she can be a little...much sometimes" you sigh.
"It's fine, we should probably go downstairs before your Dad chases me with that baseball bat"
"He wouldn't do that" you laugh it off ...or would he?
Rex followed you back down the stairs to the kitchen table. He sat down next to you and all of the calmness he had before where he was just embracing you is gone, replaced by the hammering of his heart at the nervousness he felt. But you were with him, so he'll at least survive the experience. You felt him squeeze your hand from under the table and you gave him a reassuring squeeze back.
"So Rex, me and (Y/N)'s mother have seen you on the news, is it true your an EVO?"
"Dad!"
"Uh yes sir, I am, but unlike everyone else I can control it and I work with Providence to cure other EVOs." Rex answers nervously, he still held your hand under the table. You could tell he was very nervous.
"So that's why my little girl here has been getting hurt so much"
"Sorry sir, I try to be careful even before I met (Y/N)..." he trails off. Your Dad grunts.
"I guess your alright, for now" you could visibly see Rex relax a little as his grip on your hand slackened. During the whole dinner he talked (mostly to your Mom) but with every conversation you can see him relax just a little more. And it was obvious he had an appetite for your Mom's cooking. After the dinner Rex said goodbye to the both of them and giving a kiss on your forehead before leaving.
"He's a keeper" your Mom not-so-quietly whispers to you happily your Dad 'hmphed'.
"I don't know, I still need a little convincing soulmate or not"
"He's warming up to him, soon those two'll be like two peas in a pod, trust me" your Mom whispers with a wink. You rolled your eyes and went to go sit on the couch with your parents to watch a movie.

"This is nice" you whisper, you and Rex were sharing a blanket and sitting next to each other while sipping hot chocolate and watching the rain hit the window by your bed. Rex hummed in response and sipped his hot chocolate. You were originally going to go out and walk around the park but it began to rain, immediately canceling your plans. So here you were, watching the rain pour.
"A walk in the park with you would've been better though..." he pouts.
"Aww Rexie, but it doesn't matter where we are, I just like spending time with you" you answer leaning your head against his shoulder, sipping your hot chocolate. You felt his arm shift as he moved it so it went around your shoulders, bringing you closer to him. You finished your cup and put it on your window sill, which was big enough to fit the mugs you two had. You snuggled up next to him the moment couldn't be calmer. Rex leaned against you happy and content, he looked down and you looked up at him he had a gentle smile on his face as he leaned down, capturing your lips in a gentle kiss. You kissed back, resting your hand on his cheek. He pulled away and leaned his forehead against yours as you lovingly stared into each other's eyes. He pecked your nose, which made you laugh. His smile grew slightly bigger and he picked you up and put you in his lap. His arms wrapping around you with his chin resting on your head as he watched the rain outside. You smiled and put your hands over his as you continued to watch the rain fall.

"Rex..what're you doing?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Even in the dark you could see his smirk.
"Here!?"
"Yeah, why not?" He asks totally innocently as you hit the wall, you were also glad it was dark so Rex couldn't see your dark red blush. He leaned down and began to kiss you. This is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong, but it feels so right. Screw it. You began to hesitantly kiss back. Beep! Your 'armor' began flashing signaling you got shot and you heard Rex's cackling as he began to run away. You looked at your laser gun to see that you did in fact get shot and couldn't shoot for a whole minute.
"Rex, I'll kill you!" You shout, you could still hear him cackling.
"Love you too hermosa!" You huddled in the corner and waited to be able to use your laser gun again before you began hunting for Rex. You saw him in a fort, teamed up with some little kids.
"Ok so you hold it like this see? Then you totally won't be able to miss"
"Like this?"
"Perfect, now we should have people coming around the corner any second now..." and you shot him.
"What?!" He looked to see who shot him on his gun before looking up at you.
"Hermosa!" You began laughing as you ran off before he could hit you.

"That was a dirty trick" he tells you as you exit the building.
"Yes, because cornering me against the wall and kissing me before shooting me with the laser gun is so much more fair" you comment sarcastically.
"It is though! Don't tell me you didn't think about shooting me at least once"
"Maybe, but I totally got you, a lot"
"Don't rub it in.." he pouts.
"Well you did seem to get along with those kids really well"
"Yeah, they needed a little help and they were also on my team too so..." Rex trails off with a shrug. You kissed his cheek.
"It's sweet that you were helping them out like that, though I'm still mad at you for tricking me like that." You pout.
"Alright, alright, how about I take you out for ice cream my treat" he offers, knowing your weakness for free food. You pretend to ponder it for a moment.
"Ok, let's get some ice cream!" You grin, he smiled and you both walked to a ice cream parlor you went to often since it wasn't too far away. You ordered what you usually did and took it to go, walking around the block as you and Rex began talking and laughing.
"Uh-oh" you accidentally spoke out loud, seeing (P/G) coming your way.
"Uh-oh? What's uh-oh?" Rex asks, slightly alarmed.
"It's nothing, just don't look forward"
"Why not-?"
"Hey look, it's (Y/N)! And who's that next to you? He looks the hell of a lot like a loser, you related or something?!!" (P/G) calls, his group laughing along. Rex glared at them, you tugged the sleeve of his jacket, whispering to ignore them but Rex stood his ground.
"And who are you supposed to be?" Rex asks, crossing his arms.
"I'm the captain of the football team, dumbass, who are you?"
"Rex"
"Ok,-"
"I don't like it when people insult my soulmate"
"You? You're that dumbasses soulmate? I guess it makes sense, a dumbass for a dumbass" you could feel Rex's anger growing.
"Rex..we should-" Rex gave (P/G) a right hook.
"You can call me whatever the hell you want, but I will not let you insult (Y/N), she's the smartest person ever and I'm sure as hell that's she a whole lot smarter than you are." He put his arm around your shoulders and walked away.
"Rex..."
"Why do you let him talk to you like that?"
"Because it doesn't bother me, I know I'm smart and I have people who love me, that's all I need."
"So he's always been like that?"
"Yeah"
"I still don't like how he talks about you like that" he tells you.
"Well I'm sure you scared him off, my knight in shining armor" you rest your head on his shoulder and he grunted obviously still upset at how (P/G) treated you, well he guessed how long but he didn't know the degree of bullying, but any bullying done to you is unacceptable by his standards.

"Rex! I thought you said an evening ride!"
"Yeah a ride in the sky!"
"That's called a flight!"
"Come on, it'll be fun!" He landed with his jetpack build and took a step towards you.
"(Y/N), you know I wouldn't do this unless if I was 100% sure you wouldn't get hurt" he reassures you, giving your lips a gentle kiss. You gave in, knowing you were going to regret it later.
"Fine, one flight"
"Sky ride!" Rex corrects you
"Alright, sky ride"
"Yes!" Rex celebrates, hugging you, he turned you around so your back was pressed against his chest.
"Hold on!" He grins before taking off, you screamed and Rex's grip tightened around you as he sped up. You closed your eyes and did your best to try to hold onto Rex even though his grip was tight. He began evening out and slowing down, after a few minutes you slowly opened your eyes. You looked at the ground and saw how small everything was.
"Pretty cool right!" Rex shouts over the sound of his engines and the wind.
"Yeah...I guess it's a little fun..." you were still a little wary about this whole thing but it was a little thrilling. Maybe Rex's evening motorcycle rides with you helped make this seem less scary than it actually is. Plus, as Rex said before he wouldn't ever let you do something unless he knew you couldn't get hurt with him around.
"I knew you would like it!" You could feel his grin. It was so calm and the wind was cool, but not so cool that you were shivering. He slowly circled back around and dropped you off at your doorstep, landing and putting away his build.
"So, what didja think?" He asks, brushing some hair behind your ear you smile and peck his lips.
"It was nice, maybe we could do it again sometime" you tell him before walking to your doorstep and waving to him before you closed the door, he waved back.

"Agh! This sucks" you groan, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep without putting your bedsheets in jeopardy.
"(Y/N)! I got here as soon as I could!" Rex pretended to kick the door open, but he knew you left it unlocked a lot so there was no issue with the hinges. In his arms was a giant plastic bag.
"Hey Rex..." you groaned again and turned, thinking it would help the pain.
"How are you not dying?" You ask him with a groan from the pain, looking back over at him.
"Mostly adrenaline to rush over here, and I'm used to the pain, mostly" Rex adds at the end as he unpacked supplies. He knew exactly what pads you needed since this wasn't the first time you've had your period when dating him. He got you pads, chocolate and ice cream. He also took out the heating blanket out and set up your computer. Putting the heating blanket over your area of pain and sitting next to you with the computer being available with your favorite anime on.
"Rex, can I have the ice cream? Pwease?" You pout while giving him the puppy eyes, he smiled and kissed the side of your forehead.
"Sure thing babe" he got the carton with a spoon and handed it to you, you popped the top off and began scooping it out, gratefully leaning against Rex he put his arms around your shoulders as you began watching. Every once in awhile he would steal the ice cream off your spoon and if he was too late he would kiss you, stealing the ice cream right out of your mouth. And you could feel him grin as he did it too. Then when you pulled away he had this smug little look in his eyes. You pouted, your cheeks puffing up slightly as you did so. Rex's heart melted.
"That was a dirty trick" you pouted.
"Sorry I couldn't resist, princesa. How about this?" He took another spoonful of ice cream and put it in his mouth before giving you a kiss, his hand resting against your cheek as he did so. The anime you were watching was only white noise as you closed your eyes, your blush darkening every second you kissed. You could feel Rex's smirk in the kiss as you felt the cold treat on your tongue. Rex pulled away, that smirk still present on his face as your whole face was a dark shade of red.
"Y...you didn't have to do that you know..." you stutter.
"I know, I wanted to" Rex answers with a grin, which made you turn red further. And that was how you two pretty much spent the rest of your period just like that.
Yeah, sorry for taking so long with this but I was writing the preferences every day and I didn't have a lot of time to do it otherwise it would've been done in like a day or two. Anyway tonight's my first Homecoming so I'm not gonna be a potato tonight and be a lonely single sitting in the corner with my other friend stuffing cupcakes in my mouth and chugging punch.
