"It's crazy if you think about it, feels like just yesterday we were little kids with a crush on each other. And now your my girl and you have our baby. I don't know how I would live with myself if you die. I probably won't be able to live considering your father may kill me. Riley you keep my sane. Make me feel like a good person when we both know that I'm nowhere near it. You should be love when I don't deserve it. I need you to come back to me." I cried.
"You're always beating yourself up." A voice said. I sighed.
"More then you know." I said.
"But why?" It asked.
"Because she wouldn't be here in this bed if I would have just stayed out of her life." I said.
"That's not true. Christian look at me." It said. I rolled my eyes at the voice in my head.
"How your just a voice in my head." I said.
"Am I?" I heard. I looked up at the door to see no one there. I looked over at Riley and she was smiling.
"Riley?" I asked. She nodded and giggled. I jumped up and kissed her. She kissed me back.
"Stop beating yourself up." She said against my lips. Tears fell down my eyes. "Christian? Are you ok?" She asked. I kissed her cheeks.
"I thought I was going to lose you." I said. Her hands went on either one of my cheeks.
"You won't not ever." She said. I leaned into her touch. She smiled weakly. I cleared my throat.
"Let me get the nurse." I said. She nodded and her hands fell. I pushed the button.
"Can I get some water?" She asked. I nodded and walked over to the table with the water on it and a cup. I filled it up and handed it to her. She took a big gulp. She handed it back to me.
"What is it now Grey?" The nurse asked coming in.
"She's awake." I said. She looked over at Riley with a bored look. She blinked a few times and her eyes got wide.
"Riley?" She asked.
"Can you hurry up? I really hate hospitals." Riley said. I chuckled. The nurse rushes over and starts doing some test.
"Hey Christian Taylor wanted me to tell you- Riley?" Peter asked walking in the room. Riley looks at him.
"Daddy." She said. He smiled. He walks over and hugs her.
"Watch it. She has needles in her arm." The nurse said. Peter quickly moves away.
"Sorry pumpkin." He said. She rolls her eyes.
"It's fine." She said.
"Ok everything seems stable. Um a few more tests but besides that shes perfectly healthy. Let me do a few more tests and I'll get back to you." The nurse said. Riley smiles.
"Thank you." She said. The nurse nods and walks out.
"Christian?" Riley said. I look at her. "How's the baby?" She asked. I sat down.
"At first they said we lost it until you mumbled Rosemary so I had them check her heartbeat. I guess the heartbeat was so low that they didn't see it. I'm not sure what's going to happen to it." He said. She looked at her hands.
"Would have been nice to know my daughter was pregnant before I got the call she was in the hospital." Peter said. She looks at him.
"I'm sorry daddy. I just didn't know how you were going to react and I was trying to find the perfect time to tell you." She said.
"Sweet heart any time would have been perfect. I don't mind you being pregnant. I want grandkids just as much as your mother dose. I just wanted to give your brother a hard time." He said. She smiled. "I'm so proud of you princess. And you having a baby wouldn't change that." He said.
"Oh yeah no one tell the brother his sister is awake. Nope he has to find out by the nurse." Taylor said walking into the classroom. Riley looks at him.
"Hey big brother." She said. He smiled.
"Hey sis." He said.
"Um Christian?" She said. I looked at her. "Austin? Is he?" She started. I looked at the ground.
"He's alive." I said. She nodded.
"Is he going to jail?" She asked.
"No. His dad happens to be a lawyer so he is getting probation." I said. She looked at me. Taylor and Peter looked at me as well.
"What?" Taylor asked. I stood up. "He could have fucking killed her." He said.
"Well if it wasn't for Riley he wouldn't be fucking breathing." I said. Taylor glared at me.
"What are we going to do? He's not going to stop until your child is dead." He said. I punched the wall. "Fuck! Christian stop punching the walls." He said. I looked at him.
"Where's Oliver?" I asked.
"Christian?" Riley said. But I didn't notice.
"He's out in the waiting room." Taylor said.
"Christian?" Riley said. But still I didn't notice.
"We are going to-."
"Christian!" Peter said. I looked at him. "Riley is trying to speak." He said. I looked at her.
"Don't do anything stupid." She said. I looked at my hands.
"I won't." I said.
"What are we going to do?" Taylor asked.
"Nothing. We aren't going to do anything. I'm going to give Austin a visit." I said. I kissed Riley on her forehead. "Get some sleep beautiful." I said. She nodded. "If something happens call me asap." I said. Peter and Taylor nod. I walk out and go to my car. He was lucky I didn't put him into a comma. I drove to the mansion owned by Marco Santiago. The guards saw it was me and let me drive in. I got out of my car and Austin smiled as he leaned on the the porch pole.
"I would be lying if I said this was to be expected." He said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes. "Here to piss and moan about how I should be going to jail? Or come here to beat my ass?" He asked.
"Neither." I said. He looked surprised.
"What?" He asked.
"Austin the Christian you knew in New York isn't me. I've changed. I have more at stake. More that I actually care for. All I want is for you and I to call it quits before someone ends up dead. I almost lost my girl. This thing between you and I really needs to stop." I said.
"This all started because you stole my girl." He said.
"I didn't steal anyone. I pushed Emily away. I wasn't in love with her. I knew I wouldn't be able to love her when I was already in love with Riley. Emily kept pushing. She wanted to get back at you for cheating on her. Maybe instead of trying to have more then you can handle, try being reasonable." I said.
"I don't have to listen to you." He said.
"Wanna bet?" I heard. I looked past Austin to see his dad Marco. Austin looked at him. "Austin you could have killed that girl. Who knows if you killed her baby? Maybe instead of having me come and get you out of trouble I should just let you stuffer. You're lucky he isn't pressing any charges. If you don't want me to put you in jail you will take his words in consideration and call it a trues." He said.
"Dad you don't understand." He said.
"No I do understand. You almost killed a pregnant woman over a girl who left you. You don't get to try and reason with people. You get to do as I said or you will end up in jail for the rest of your life." He said. Austin looked at me.
"I wasn't going to make him do anything I said. It was completely his choice." I said. Marco looked at me.
"Christian my son has gotten out of hand with this one. Even he knows it. The least he can do is stay away from you and your family. Don't give him pity for his actions." He said. I nodded. "Go to your girl. I promise you my son won't be a bother anymore." He said.
"Thank you." I said. He nodded.
"Gray?" Austin said. I looked at him. "How's the baby?" He asked.
"Alive for now. I'd like to keep it that way." I said. He nodded.
"Give Riley my apologies." He said. I nodded.
