Chapter 47:
Arabella's POV:
My stomach drops. I thought he was gone! I drop the phone.
"Well... Are you gonna answer it? Because if you are, don't!" I scream running up the stairs.
"I saw your face expression when there was a knock. It's Tyler, isn't it," Sam knows he's right.
"Yes, and this bitch won't leave us alone! He's gonna get to me either way!" I'm about to cry. I don't know how Sam is being calm, because I'm sure not!
"Don't worry. We are in this house. He can't get us from in here," Sam says calmly.
The door knocks again. Sam says, "I'm going to make sure it's actually Tyler."
Sam's POV:
I walk over to the door and look through the peephole.
What I see startles me.
That's not Tyler.
But I know this isn't going to be good.
Chandler's POV:
Stephanie and I decide to go back to Sam's house. Stephanie calls Arabella. No answer. I call Sam. No answer.
They always have their phones with them, and they always answer. It's not like them to not pick up.
We walk a few blocks over and see someone standing at Sam's front door.
What in the name of...
Oh no.
"Stephanie run!"
"What?"
"Just do it! Run!"
The man standing at the front door turns around. Stephanie and I run.
Sam's POV:
I can't tell who this man is, but he has a mask on, just like that creepy man in The Purge.
And in his pocket, he has a knife. How come no neighbors saw this? Seriously...
The man turns around. Behind him, in my driveway, I see Chandler and Stephanie fleeing away.
Something about this man seems so creepy...
Arabella walks downstairs. "Is it Tyler?" She asks.
Arabella's POV:
"No."
Thank god.
"But..."
"But what?!" Crap.
"I'm not sure who the hell it is, but I know that he has a knife... And he scared Steph and Chair away..."
"But he must know Tyler because Tyler himself said 'Knock knock!'"
"Of course he knows me," Tyler says.
I forgot to hang up the phone!
Sam picks up the phone and looks through the peephole.
Sam's POV:
Tyler walks up my porch, and hands the man a phone.
The man speaks in a very deep voice, "Hello Sam."
I have the phone on speaker so Arabella just stands there, eyes wide.
The man talks again. "And... Arabella?"
She shakes her head frantically and looks at me.
The man clears his throat. "I don't know who you are, but I will find you, and I will kill you!"
Arabella runs upstairs.
"Uh... Sir? Leave my property or I will call the police!" I say trying to sound sophisticated.
"It's too late for that."
"We are safe behind closed doors! There's nothing you can do!"
There's a pause.
"It's already done."
From upstairs, there's a scream from Arabella.
Stephanie's POV:
I'm not sure who the hell that creep was, but I saw Tyler hiding in the bush next to him.
Should I call the police?
I don't think I should... Arabella and Sam probably have it covered.
What if they don't?
Oh, stop it Stephanie! Stop worrying! They'll be fine.
Sam's POV:
I drop the phone and run upstairs. But first, I grab a knife from the kitchen, just in case. Luckily it's not Chandler here, or he would grab a wooden spoon instead of a knife.
I run up the stairs. With every step I take, fear and anger wrap around me.
I get up there and see Arabella gone, and an open window. I run to the window and see a large white van driving away.
Tyler's POV:
They're so stupid not to check for any unlocked windows.
So this is what I did:
First, I found an unlocked window downstairs.
Second, while Sam was too busy talking to Jeff, my older 30-year-old brother, I snuck up the stairs.
Third, I signaled Jeff from an upstairs window.
Fourth, I grabbed Arabella (she screamed), put duct tape over her mouth, and tied her up (I am good at doing that quickly).
Fifth, I grabbed her, jumped into a nearby tree, and climbed down.
Sixth, I threw her into the back of Jeff's van, got in shotgun, and Jeff drove away.
Now just to pick up Alexis. Alexis is my soon-to-be girlfriend.
Luckily there's a black wall thingy between the back and the front of the van, so Alexis won't be able to see Arabella.
I mean, who would want to date a criminal?
Jeff drives and stops at her house. I roll down my window.
To her, I'm just an innocent cute boy who likes everything.
I'm the total opposite.
Except, of course, I'm cute. Duh.
She walks to the back of the truck.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Where you going?"
She giggles. "I always sit in the back... Even though there are no seats back there..." She rolls her eyes.
I can't let her know Arabella's back there!
"Nah, this time, you can sit up here!" I say coolly.
"But where would you sit?" She asks.
"I can sit in the back," I say as if it's a question.. "It's only polite."
I sit in the back with Arabella. She's already fainted, which will make this 50x easier.
Sam's POV:
I call the police.
I explain everything that happened, at least, everything I know.
I sure hope Arabella's ok... She's my little delicate flower... And if anything happens to her... It kills me on the inside too.
I actually start breaking out into tears. People do bad stuff to girls like Arabella... Who knows what Tyler and that man are going to do...?
Some people need Jesus...
Alexis' POV:
I've known Tyler forever, but I never really talked to him. He's really cute and sweet and, well, perfect!
We get to his brother's house. We all hang out for a little while. Tyler goes to the bathroom and I remember I forgot my phone in the back of his brother's van yesterday.
I walk outside and start to open the back door.
"Alexis!! Wait!!" Tyler runs outside.
"What? I'm just grabbing my phone..."
"Uh... I have a surprise for you back there?"
"Uhm..."
"You go inside... And I'll... Uh... Get your phone for you?"
"It's fine I'll just turn around-"
"NO!!"
So maybe Tyler's a bit of a spazz... But still. He's still cute, right?
I walk inside looking back occasionally.
Right before I shut the door I hear a scream.
I run back to the van and Tyler shuts the doors, muffling the screams.
I open the doors and see a sweet innocent girl about my age crying her eyes out.
"Tyler what the hell?!?" I help the girl out. Tyler pushes us both into the van and shuts and locks the door.
I untie the girl.
"Ok, so I'm gonna tear off this tape. It might hurt. You fine with it?" She helplessly nods. Poor girl... She looks my age but she's really tiny, and has the body of a 10-year-old.
"One... Two... Why don't you do it? I don't want to hurt you."
She rips off the tape. Tears come to her eyes but she brushes them off.
"I'm Alexis... Are you alright?"
"Yeah. Are you? And I'm Arabella."
"Yeah I'm fine... Wait... Arabella Dawson?"
"Haha, yeah that's me!"
"Oh, yeah! You're dating that Sam kid!"
"Yeah... And are you dating Tyler?"
"No way! I'm never dating that creep!"
We both laugh. "I came out here to grab my phone and... That's it! My phone! Now... Where is it..."
I look through rummage and stuff.
"Aha! Found it!" There's a sign of relief. "And... It's dead..."
"I hope Sam or some other neighbors know what to do, because I sure don't."
"Do you think Sam knows you're gone?"
"Well he heard me scream when Tyler grabbed me..."
Arabella's POV:
I tell her everything that happened. From moving to Alabama, to meeting Tyler, to all the bad moments with Tyler, everything up until now.
We don't know what to do. Alexis and I scramble through options but don't know anything.
Sam's POV:
I need to find out more about Tyler... I don't even know this kid's last name.
That van...
That van...
That van... I need to figure out something about that van! Because I have no information on this...
Wait...
Last week my mom put security cameras on the house (mainly because of the neighbors who always get drunk. Fricken Dinkleburgs...).
Maybe they got something of the license plate!
I log onto the computer that's slower than my grandma and open the security camera thing.
I zoom in. Sure enough, it's there.
This isn't creepy... Is it?
I tell the operator the license number digits and they say they have information on this dude. Jeff Johnson, 30, 6'1, half-brother of Tyler Creephead.
The operator says they have it covered so they start working on the case.
I sure hope Arabella is alright.
Even if I have to lay down my own life just for her, I would. As long as she makes it.
