Chapter 28
>Albert’s POV<
Albert looked up at his older brother as he placed the receiver into his pocket and looked at his two brothers. “Its time,” Albert got up from his sitting position and stood beside his twin. The two boys were more then ready to go and exact vengeance against their captors, and make sure that no one else can do it again.
The three brothers stood up from their position behind a few bushes far away from the laboratory. Tristan just wanted to make sure that they wouldn’t been seen until they were ready to be seen.
They started to walk towards the laboratory, the alarm could be heard as Albert moved closer with his brothers. Tristan was ahead of them, moving into the building first, giving a hand gesture, Albert and Daniel followed their brother into the place. Tristan going slowly, checking every corner to make sure that there was no threat. Albert didn’t know why his big brother was doing that, any of them could defend themselves, when they were alone. Albert guessed that it was just so that he could make sure that his little brothers could be okay.
Tristan turned a few corners, Albert and his twin following behind, not really knowing where they were going anyways. Tristan unsheathed his sword and pressed the tip against a lock in a door, pushing on it until the blade sank into the lock, a loud snap could be heard as the door swung forwards a bit. Tristan pulled the sword out, pushing on the door as well with his foot.
“Tristan where are we going?” Albert whispered, leaning closer to his older brother.
“You’ll see,” Tristan whispered back. He opened the door, ushering them in. Albert and Daniel stepped in slowly, seeing nothing but darkness, Albert looked back to see Tristan closing the door, his face cloaked in darkness. Albert moved his hand towards the hilt of his sword, feeling uneasy about the dark environment. A pair of bright lights turned on, blinding Albert.
“Well if the two experiments haven’t returned finally,” a male voice said, Albert couldn’t tell who’s voice it was, nor could he see the person cause of the pitch darkness. “You know the both of you have caused many problems in your time out of the lab.”
“Tristan,” Albert whispered back, all he could see was his bother’s outline in the darkness, “why did you bring us here?”
“He brought you here cause I instructed him too,” the mystery man spook up. Albert glared back at Tristan, before he could react Daniel had pulled his sword from his sheath and swiped backwards at their older brother. The blade went clean through. A loud screech came from Tristan, his form melting away, Albert and Daniel jumped away looking down at the pool of liquid that used to be their brother. “Oh don’t worry that was only a proxy, your actual brother is safe and sound.”
“Where is he!?” Daniel demanded, glaring in the direction of the mystery man.
“Don’t worry, he’s very safe.”
“Let him go!”
“Why would I ever do that? He is the biggest success since you two, and from him I can make more proxies ,” the guy sounded like he almost cared about their brother. “That is why you’re here so I can do the same.”
“What if we don’t want to?”
“Then your going to have a really bad time getting out of here,” the lights started to flicker on. Revealing a room a lot bigger then what Albert first thought, under the floor looked like hundreds of test tubes.
“What is this place?” Albert looked up at the man, only now was he able to see the man.
“I like to call it the birthing room,” the man seemed proud of his small room.
“What is in the tubes?” Daniel asked, looking at Albert, knowing that his twin would be able to see the same thing he was.
“Well it’s a surprise,” the man walked along the walkway, his gaze never leaving them. “Now please just cooperate.” Daniel spread his wings wide, the man moved one of his hands to his side. Albert knew exactly what he was reaching for, so he grabbed Daniel’s arm. Daniel glanced down at his brother’s hand then looked at him.
“Not now,” Albert whispered into his twin’s ear.
“Why not?” Daniel whispered back.
“Cause if we’re lucky then we can be shown right to are big brother,” Daniel took a second then folded his wings back. “Fine we’ll go,” Albert spoke up, looking up at the man. Daniel grumbled a bit but didn’t protest against Albert’s plan. The man walked towards the end of the walkway, the two boys following him down, watching the man the whole time.
Once they got to the end of the catwalk the man stepped off, moving an arm guiding the boys where to go. Albert looked over at Daniel and could see the obvious hatred and anger that came from him. The man walked through a pair of doors, they winded through a few hallways. The man brought them to a large door, it looked as if it was solid steel, but Albert couldn’t really tell until they opened up. The man moved towards a keypad, punching in a few numbers before the door opened. Albert’s first thought were correct about the door, it looked to be a foot thick, he couldn’t tell if it was solid or hallow in the middle, but he’d have to guess that it was.
A few men were buzzing about the room, they seemed to be correcting stuff. A man walked to the man they were following, holding a clipboard.
“Mr. Fulghum, the preparations are almost ready, just a few more things before everything is complete,” the lab assistant said.
“Good, I want everything to be complete and ready in the coming hour,” the assistant nodded and scurried off. Mr. Fulghum looked back at Albert and his brother. “Come along now, I’ll show you to where the two of you will be staying,” Albert nodded slowly, hoping that they were getting close to their big brother. The man started to walk again, walking down a narrow corridor he brought them to a room, three tubes were sitting in the room. A light mist came from the one in the middle.
Albert knew that they had found their brother, the tubes were obviously cryo tubes of some sort. Mr. Fulghum walked up to the middle tube and wiped away the layer of condensation, underneath Albert could see what looked like his brother. Albert slowly walked up to a console, examining it.
“Enjoying the marvels of science Albert?” He looked back at the man who was smiling.
“Ya…something like that,” in a swift movement he brought his wing up then back down onto the console, crushing it. A loud siren started to blare accompanied by a flashing red light.
“Do you know what you have done!?” Mr. Fulghum shouted. Daniel laughed a bit and drew his sword.
“We know exactly what we did,” the man’s face grew dark.
“No you don’t,” Daniel leaped forward, pointing his sword out, stabbing the man through the chest. “This isn’t over.” Mr. Fulghum’s body started to melt away, just like earlier when Daniel stabbed the proxy version of their brother.
“Get Tristan out!” Albert shouted as he pulled his sword out, moving towards the cryo tube. Daniel pushed the tip of his sword in between a piece of metal and the glass, Albert followed suit. With a nod from Daniel the two of them pushed out, pushing their swords into the glass, slowly cracking it. In an instance the glass shattered, releasing broken glass and water. Their brother collapsed to the ground, wires being pulled from his body.
Daniel and Albert leaned down and lifted him up. His wings laid limp as the twins pulled him from the water. Albert could feel a faint heartbeat so he knew that their older brother wasn’t dead.

>Duo’s POV<
When the blaring noise and flashing red light started up Duo knew that he had to get himself and Dostya out of the laboratory. He turned around to the woman who was already getting up, she must have known what he was thinking. Duo turned back to the door, his scales spreading over his body, at the same time he pushed his fire towards his hands.
He slowly pried the door open, it took longer then he’d like, however he was happy that his welding worked perfectly, no one would have gotten into that room.
With the door opened he lead the way out of the building, watching out for anymore of those security bots. Duo got suspicious when he didn’t meet any resistance of any kind. He didn’t know what the sirens were about, but he’d take a guess and say that it was Albert, Daniel, and Tristan who set it off. Speaking of those three, where are they? Duo thought to himself, the three of them were supposed to make their way to him, they never did though.
The half demon kept looking back at Dostya, just to make sure that she was still following behind him. He didn’t want to lose her, it was hard enough to get to her, he was sure that it would be even harder with the alarm blaring to find her again.
He pushed through the entrance to the place, holding the doors open for the woman, she gave him a small smile before she squinted from the intense sunlight. He created a wing, moving it over her so she wouldn’t be blinded from the sun. Dostya looked back at him and gave him anther smile.
“Thank you,” Duo shrugged.
“It’s not a problem,” Dostya laughed a bit.
“Its been so long since I’ve been outside, I missed the warmth of the sun,” the two of them walked further from the facility. They moved into the forest to wait for them, Duo started to wonder what had happened in there, and to them.
Duo kept watching the doors, anticipating for the three of them to exit. He didn’t wait long until he saw the Albert and Daniel carrying their big brother out, Duo could hear Dostya gasp. He quickly ran over to the three of them, helping them carry their brother.
“What happened in their?”
“Well someone broke a console that got are brother out of a cryo tube, while that was happening the alarm started,” Daniel explained, Duo gave a small laugh.
“Why was Tristan in a cryo tube?”
“Cause the one that you met was a proxy.”
“He turned to goop,” Daniel summed up. Duo nodded slowly, the three of them managed to get Tristan into the tree line. Where Dostya was waiting.
“What happened too him?” She asked, rather concerned, Daniel started to explain what happened while Albert and Duo placed Tristan on the ground.
“I can’t believe that they’d do that,” Dostya kneeled down beside Tristan, grabbing a hold of his hand. “Well its nice to meet the two of you, Tristan used to talk about you both a lot.” Albert smiled down at the woman, kneeling down.
“It’s nice to meet you too Dostya,” Albert sighed and stretched his wings a bit. “We should probably get going though, its not safe here.” Dostya slowly got up nodding a bit.
“Are we just going to carrying him around?” Daniel shrugged.
“Not much else that we can do,” Albert said, grabbing his brother’s arm. With a jolt the arm shoved him back, Tristan stood up quickly his wings spread widely behind him. Fear was across his face as he stared at the four people in front of him. The fear soon dissipated into a happy sadness. His wings slumped down as tears started to fill his eyes.
“I can’t believe this, is this real?” He asked, approaching his girlfriend and touching her.
“Yes it is,” she cupped his hand with her own.
“I thought that I’d never see any of you again…other then you,” he pointed towards Duo. “I don’t know who you are.”
“I’m Duo, I got Dostya out of that place,” he said pointing towards the laboratory.
“Thank you,” Tristan said with a nod. Tristan glanced at Daniel then Albert, spreading his arms a bit. “Come here you two.” Daniel and Albert walked up to their brother, hugging him, Tristan hugged the two of them back wrapping his wings around his two little brothers. “I’ve been waiting for this day for ages, I still can’t believe that this is actually happening.”
“I didn’t think it would either,” Albert said with a big smile across his face. Daniel nodded resting his head against their big brother’s chest. “As nice as this is, we should probably get going.”
“Ya I agree,” Tristan released his little brothers. “Where are we going then?”
“Back to the pack village that the two of us have been staying at,” Duo shrugged and starting to walk off. He didn’t intend on going with them, nor did he want to. Duo enjoyed the life of being alone, not needing anyone for help or needing to help someone.
“Duo where are you going?” Albert asked, looking back at the half demon.
“I don’t know, but where ever I go I’m sure that we will cross paths again,” he spread his scales down over his legs.
“Why don’t you just come with us?”
“Cause I don’t want too, but thanks for the offer,” Albert frowned a bit and said his goodbyes. Duo sped off, hoping that he’d have fun where ever he was going to go.

>Albert’s POV<
Albert watched his new friend leave in a hurry. He sighed a bit and turned back to his big brother, it felt as if something was complete with Tristan there with him and his twin.
“How long of a trip will it be?” Tristan asked, Albert glanced at Daniel.
“A little over a day, maybe less,” Daniel gave a shrug.
“Hmm…I guess it would be less if we could fly, but I just can’t right now, I feel so tired,” Tristan said, his wings drooping to the ground.
“Well wait can’t you turn into a dragon?” Daniel asked, raising an eyebrow. Tristan gave a sigh.
“Ya I guess I can,” with a few loud pop and bones cracking, Tristan turned into the red dragon that Albert knew was his. Tristan stretched out and spread his wings. “I can’t carry all of you,” Tristan said, looking at Daniel and Albert. Daniel gave a laugh and spread his own wings.
“I think that the two of us can fly just fine,” Dostya started to laugh and leaned against Tristan.
“I’m going with me on your back babe,” Tristan snaked his head back and licked his girlfriend’s cheek. “I’ll take that as a yes.” Dostya hopped up onto Tristan’s back, wrapping her arms around his neck, the best that she could.
Albert and Daniel spread their wings, Tristan along with them, in a whoosh of flapping wings the three of them were off the ground and flying towards the village. Tristan wasn’t fooling around, he was set on just flying straight to the village. Daniel and Albert had other ideas though, as they flew up into the clouds then diving back down nearly missing their big brother, who would growl in warning each time. Eventually they just started to fly rather straight, with the occasional loop around their brother.
The twins were both happy, they were feeding off of each other’s joy to get hyper. They did however start to calm down and more glide then fly, while their big brother had to flap his massive wings ever so often just so that he can stay aloft.
Albert didn’t know when he fell asleep but he woke up to the boom of a loud roar. He opened his eyes to see Fang flying towards them angrily. Him and Daniel dived towards the large dragon.
“Fang!! Its fine!! He’s with us!” Albert shouted as he dove down to meet the beast. Fang growled a bit and started to hover there.
“Why did he kidnap you then?” The large green dragon asked, his yellow eyes not leaving their fixed position of watching their brother.
“Cause it was a doppelganger, it wasn’t the true him,” Daniel explained, trying to keep the dragon calm. He gave a huff and started to fly back down to the pond. Daniel and Albert quickly flew back up to their brother. “Dostya, if you wouldn’t mind giving me your hand,” Daniel asked holding his hand to her.
“Why?” Dostya and Tristan asked.
“Cause Tristan really needs to turn back into his human form so that he doesn’t make people afraid,” Dostya sighed a bit and stood on Tristan’s back.
“You better catch me,” she said threateningly, Daniel nodded his head and got close to her. Dostya jumped off of Tristan and into Daniel’s arms, he dropped a bit, but was able to stay in the air. Tristan turned into his human form and got close to Daniel.
“I got it from here,” Tristan grabbed Dostya in his arms, Daniel let go of her slowly, making sure that Tristan had a hold of her. Tristan looked down seeing the lights of the village. “I’m guessing that’s the village?” Albert nodded his head.

>Simon’s POV<
He sat on the edge of his bed, playing with a knife that he took from Shelby. Of course she knew that he took it, if she didn’t then Simon would be in big trouble. He had no actual reason for having it, other then just to have it. He missed his big feathery boyfriend, and he knew that Aaron missed his boyfriend as well. The two of them had slept in each other’s arm the night before, he didn’t think of it as cheating since he was sleeping with his boyfriend’s twin brother’s boyfriend.
Simon came out of his thoughts when a loud roar echoed through the house. He quickly got up, running down the stairs, almost jumping down them. He looked outside to see nothing, he couldn’t see what Fang had seen, but he was hoping that it was the one person that Simon wished it was. Simon stood in the street near Larval’s house, watching the sky for anything that might indicate that someone was coming towards the town.
When he heard the flapping of wings he started to get butterflies in his stomach. He watched as three winged figures came into view. He started to run over to where he thought they were going to land. As he started to the details of Albert’s features he redoubled his efforts. Albert hadn’t landed yet when Simon jumped into his arms, giving him a big kiss on the lips.
“I missed you so much,” Simon said, tears streaking down his face as Albert held him close.
“I missed you too Simon,” Simon looked back to see Daniel and a stranger. He looked like Albert and Daniel a bit.
“Who’s he?” Simon asked pointing back at the boy, who he now could see was holding a girl.
“That’s my big brother Tristan, and his girlfriend Dostya,” Albert said smiling wide.
“The same one who kidnapped you?” Albert groaned a bit.
“Yes but no, that one was a doppelganger,” Simon nodded a bit leaning into Albert. Simon could hear a door open, the thudding of shoes, then a “hmpf” as Aaron hug-tackled Daniel.
“Welcome home Albert and Daniel,” Larval said walking up from behind Simon. “Who are your new friends?”
“This is my big brother, Tristan, and his girlfriend Dostya,” Albert said, looking back at his big brother, who was sweating and slightly out of breath. “Are you okay?”
“Ya…just out…of breath,” Tristan sighed a bit and leaned against Dostya.
“Get off me, your heavy ass is going to make me fall,” Tristan laughed a bit.
“I’ll take my chances,” Dostya rolled hers eyes.
“How about the four of you come inside and relax a bit,” Larval offered them, Dostya smiled.
“Thank you,” Larval lead the way to his house, the six of them following behind him. Dostya lead her boyfriend to the couch that was in the living room.
“The tow of you were really missed,” Larval said to Albert and Daniel. “And you took them, so why should I let you stay?”
“The person who took us was a doppelganger version of Tristan,” Albert explained.
“We found him in a cryo tube,” Daniel added, hugging Aaron to his side. Simon sighed and hugged Albert, resting his chin against Albert’s shoulder.
“Alright, I guess that you’ll just have to convince everyone else about him,” Larval said, turning back around to Tristan. “The two of you can sleep on the couch, I wish I could say that it could pull out, or even that there was a bed that you could use…but sadly they are all used up.”
“Thank you,” Tristan said, leaning against Dostya.
“No problem, now its late, so I’m going to head off to bed, if you’re going to stay up then please keep it quiet,” Larval said as he started to head up the stairs. Albert yawned, along with Daniel.
“Head off to bed, we can talk tomorrow,” Tristan said, opening up one of his eyes.
“Okay see you tomorrow,” Albert said, Simon holding his hand as they went up stairs. Simon dragged Albert down onto the bed, giving him a small kiss.
“I missed you so much,” Simon said, snuggling into Albert’s chest.
“Ya I missed you too,” Albert kissed Simon’s forehead wrapping his arms around Simon, laying one wing over him. Simon slowly feel asleep, finally feeling happy with his boyfriend right beside him.

I hope enjoyed the book!! And yes that was the ending. Its been way to long over due, not just for the update, but just to finish it. I'd love anyones feedback on it. The next book, Wings, will be started sometime after the summer, or at least after Misery Returns is finished.
