The calmness of the night witnessed two best friends turn into better halves and now it was time for the beautiful morning to kick start their new journey, this time not as friends though but a level up.
The sun peeped in the room through the small window of the treehouse where manik and nandini were still lost in their dreamland, snuggling close to each other. The bright sun and chirping of the birds woke nandini up and the first thing she saw was her best friend...oops! Her boyfriend now!
How yesterday changed her and manik she wondered with a beautiful smile lingering on her lips.
She blushed at how close she was to manik and how he was hugging her just like a little baby, hiding his face in the crook of her neck, snuggling in her long tresses to avoid the sun. She caressed his face lovingly for some time and started getting out of the bed when a hand pulled her back to which she gasped.
Nandini: manik!
Manik*snuggling more into her hair*: sleep! Mat jao
He said hugging her close.
For a while nandini was lost in his husky morning voice but then composed herself and asked him if he was actually awake.
Nandini: manik tum jaag rahe ho?
He opened his eyes a bit at her question and answered it whilst caressing her cheek with his thumb.
Manik: main bhi vohi soch raha hu. Am I dreaming or is this real?
Nandini blushed profusely at his innocent question but answered it anyways.
Nandini*cupping his cheek*: its all real manik
She whispered softly.
Manik smiled brightly at her and began admiring her, soon lost in her eyes and same was the case with nandini, it was as if they were trying to make themselves believe that it was actually happening, that they had finally confessed whatever they felt for each other and finally they could show the world that now they officially belonged to each other without having to fake it. They were happy, they were at peace and those blissful smiles on their faces were just apt for anyone to guess the same.
Both manik and nandini were lost in each other when the ringing of nandini's phone broke their eyelock. Manik groaned while nandini giggled, picking up her phone.

Nandini: hello?...ha bhai
Abhi: nandu kaha hai tu? Manik ne bola tha that he had some surprise for you but mujhe nahi pata tha ki that surprise will take so long...I mean ki tum puri raat ghar nahi aaogi that I knew but look at the time baba its 11 in the morning and you are still not home
Nandini: aiyyo! Sorry Bhai voh actually we were tired na from last night so we overslept. Hum bas abhi nikal hi rahe hai
Abhi: aaraam se aana ok? I just called up to know when will you guys come back and anyways aaj college late jana hai so take your time
Nandini: ok Bhai
As soon as she disconnected the call, she felt manik hugging her from behind and settling her between his legs. Nandini smiled at his actions and made her self comfortable in his arms.
Manik*sleepy*: Abhi ne call kyu kiya tha?
He asked dipping his face in her neck and inhaling the sweet fragrance of her hair making nandini shiver.
Nandini*resting her head on his chest*: nothing...was just asking when we would be back
Manik just hummed in reply and continued nuzzling in her hair. Nandini leaned more in his embrace and cupped his cheek from front asking if he was sleepy.
Nandini: sleepy?
Manik: no I just feel like staying glued to you today
He whispered in his throaty voice.
Nandini: seriously manik! Its not even twenty four hours that we are together and abhi se itna romantic!...(looking upwards) aiyyappa how will I manage with such a romantic boyfriend
She said ever so dramatically.
Manik: ho gaya apka drama? Ab stay still
Saying so he again got busy in hiding his face in her hair as both sat there for some time talking on random stuff and enjoying each other's company.
Nandini noticed the time after a while and called out manik.
Nandini: manik its 11:30 and we need to leave so chalo get up and go freshen up
Manik: no I want to stay here fir college ja ke our dear friends won't let me stay alone with you
He complained like a small baby cribs in front of his mom.
Nandini: lekin we still have to go right so come on and go freshen up .
She instructed.
Manik*huffing*: fine! But only because tum bol rahi ho
Nandini laughed at his baby antics and pushed him inside the washroom.
Nandini got herself busy in tidying the room and putting things in place when the washroom door clicked open and manik came out dressed in his casuals.
Manik*setting his hair*: you also get ready....we will leave in ten
Nandini: ok
Saying so she picked up her clothes from the bed and dashed inside the washroom and soon after they were on their way back.
Manik was driving the car, glancing at nandini time to time while nandini was busy staring out of the window, playing with her fingers, a habit of hers when something was bothering her. Manik held her hand that was placed on her lap and entwined their fingers, smiling at her which made her stop fidgeting with them.
Manik: so whats bothering you?
Nandini: manik am nervous...hum humare friends ko kaise bolenge that we are....
Manik: we are...?
Nandini*blushing*: that uh we are to-together
Manik*pinching her cheeks*: Haaye! My girlfriend is such a cutie...specially when she blushes
Nandini: manik
She hit his arm playfully still blushing at his comment.
Manik*smiles*: nandini chill...they are our friends and they will understand, they will be happy for us
Nandini: are you sure? What if they get upset or angry?
Manik*looking at her from the corner of his eye*: I am sure baba...everything will be just fine
Nandini: hope so
Nandini nodded still in her thoughts as manik tightened his grip on her fingers to assure her.
