Warren's POV
I met my friends for lunch when I thought I was going crazy.
"Hey Dude, what's with that long face?"
"Rovic, it has been a week since they left and I am missing her terribly."
Two weeks after the day Denisse officially agreed to be my girl, they had to leave for Luxembourg. The Duke had a lot of work to do that was put on hold when they went here to meet Denisse.
"Then, why didn't you ask her to stay?"
"I would have but I know that her parents also want to spend time with her. When we get married, she would be spending all her days with me anyways. "
"You have a lot of confidence that she will say yes huh."
"Mario, shut up if you don't have anything good to say."
"Have you told her everything she needs to know?"
"Man, you know I told here all that she needs to know."
"But was that everything?"
"I can't lose her again. It would really kill me this time."
"But she deserves to know."
"In time. Maybe when she's already my wife."
"Then move faster and ask her already! What are you waiting for? You already waited all these years and now you are as slow as a turtle."
Sometimes I hate my friends for being frank and straightforward but I know they're always right.
"Is it really obvious how much I love her? How do you know we're ready for that step."
"You've been stalking and following her for almost 4 years like a love sice fool. That should have been enough for you to be ready."
"You even ordered all your male employees and househelpers never to lay their eyes on her which is absurd knowing that Denisse is really a very beautiful girl."
"I mean, who does that, but you! Now, you're asking us if it's really that obvious?"
"I am sure when she was modelling those clothes you ordered for her you were silently watching weren't you?"
"How did you know?"
"I just know you very well and I'm sure you won't let that opportunity pass."
"I think I am obsessed with her. She's like a drug. The more I see her, the more I crave for her."
"It's not wrong to be obsessed with her if you will always think of what's best for her. Don't forget that you don't own her. She has her own mind and can make her own decisions."
"Coming from a lawyer who drafted a fake engagement agreement! You guys are both delusional! Be thankful you didn't get your license revoked because of that!"
We knew our faults and we were lectured for a whole week by Mario once he learned of what we did.
"So now what are you going to do?"
"I need your help. Clear your schedules because we are going to Luxembourg!"
"Finally Warren, you're making sense!"
Denisse's POV
Nakakapagtaka na ilang oras na isang buong magdamag na hindi nagparamdan si Warren. Dati paggising ko punong puno na ng messages ang inbox ko. Busy siguro.
Napakahirap pala talaga ng LDR o Long Distance Relationship. Dalawang linggo pa lang kaming hindi nagkikita para na akong mababaliw. Kahit may skype at facetime iba pa rin na nakakausap ko siya ng personal at nayayakap. Kasama na rin syempre ang mga halik niyang nakakawala ng ulirat.
Naging busy ako the past weeks dahil ipinapasyal ako ni Mama halos araw araw. Busy kasi si Papa sa mga naiwan niyang responsibilidad noong pinuntahan nila ako sa Pilipinas. Gusto nila sana maghanda ng isang piging para sa aking pagbabalik pero tinutulan ko ito. Ayoko kasi ng attention. Naintindihan naman nila at pinagbigyan ang aking gusto.
"Honey, we will attend a party tonight with close friends. A stylist will be going here"
"Mama, you know I don't want the attention."
"Don't worry, just a few family members and close friends. Not more than 50 people will be attending."
"Mother, is 50 a very small number for you?"
"Honey, I know you are nervous, but believe me, you'll love this surprise."
"What surprise? I thought it was just a party?"
"Be ready at 8."
Parang nagworry ang nanay ko kaya humalik na lamang ito at umalis.
"Princess Denisse. The stylist is waiting for you."
"Agad-agad? Nandiyan na agad agad?"
"Pardon?"
"Nothing. Thanks."
Kaya't pinuntahan ko na ang stylist na sinasabi ni Mama. Nagulat ako nang kakilala ko pala ito.
"Marie?"
"Denisse! Este Princess Denisse! Grabe ang laki ng palasyo ninyo ha."
"Anong princess ka diyan. Denisse lang ha. Anong ginagawa mo dito?"
"Ha? Ano kasi nagbakasyon ako sa London e naisipan kitang dalawin tapos nakita ko si Grand Duchess at sabi niya may party daw kaya here I am! At your service my princess."
"Huy! Huwag ka nga mag bow diyan. Tara sa room na lang tayo mag-ayos?"
"So kumusta na? Masaya ba dito?"
"Ok naman."
"Sobrang lalim naman ng buntung-hininga mo."
"Ang layo ko kasi sa inyo."
"Sa amin ba o sa kaniya?"
"Syempre kasama na siya."
"Don't worry, nababaliw na nga din iyon kakaisip sa iyo. Kulang na lang ipagpagawa ka ng life size photo standee. Maya't maya nakatingin sa picture mo. 'Di ko nga alam kung nakakatrabaho pa iyon lagi na lang tulala."
Napangiti naman ako. Buti naman hindi lang ako ang affected.
"Ayan, nakangiti na ang prinsesa namin. O ito na isusuot mo. O diba bongga! Sa London pa galing 'yan!"
"Wow! Ang ganda nga! Ano ba ang meron? Bakit parang sobrang ganda naman yata nito?"
"Para magada ka sa picture at video."
"Ha?"
"Ah. Wala. Ano ba basta sumunod ka nalang. Para sa ikaliligaya mo rin ito."
"Friend ah parang may alam ka na hindi ko alam."
"Ano ba huwag praning. Basta o ito na. Game na ba?"
At sinimulan na nga akong ayusan ni Marie.
"Grabe friend. Hindi ka lang pala fashion designer. Full package ka as make up artist and hair stylist all in one. Sana matutunan ko rin mag-ayos ng sarili ko para hindi naman nakakahiya kay Warren kapag lumalabas kami."
"Hala ka. Denisse. Kapag nag-ayos ka pa para kay Warren, baka ikabit ka na noon sa pundilyo niya para hindi ka mawala sa paningin niya. Sobrang ganda mo na kaya. Hindi mo nga kailangan ng make-up eh. Kaya very light lang din talaga ang nilagay ko sa iyo."
"Bolera ka talaga."
"Naku girl. Kung alam mo lang kung gaano kahumaling ang kaibigan ko sa iyo baka matakot ka. May pagka stalker na nga iyon."
"Grabe naman friend. Stalker talaga. Hindi ba pwedeng secret admirer lang."
"Ipagtanggol daw ba ang boyfriend. O siya, isuot mo na itong gown. Kaya mo ba? O kailangan mo ng tulong? Medyo fit yata eh."
"Kaya naman. Thanks Marie!"
"Sige. Wait nalang kita sa venue ha. Mag-aayos pa din kasi ako."
"Ok. See you later! Thanks ulit."
Ano kaya ang mayroon sa araw na ito? Pagkatapos ko magbihis, tinungo ko ang full length mirror ko sa kwarto. Kakaibang Denisse ang bumungad sa akin. Sopistikada, elegante at parang hindi talaga ako. Baka hindi ako makilala nila Mama.
"Denisse, honey?"
"Wow. You look gorgeous!"
"Thanks Mama"
"Let's go? The guests have arrived."
"Where is the party?"
"Here at our Ballroom."
Malaki talaga ang palasyo at hindi ko namalayan na may inihahanda palang party dito. When I entered the Ballroom, my heart stopped.
