In Manik's room
The room was a total mess with clothes covering every inch of the floor as our dear manik sat there scratching his head, confused about what should he wear.
Manik*self talk*: Kya pehnu? Huh pura wardrobe bahar nikal diya but still nothing good to wear at all!
Since when did you bother about selecting clothes eh? Asked his conscience smirking at him.
Since nandini stepped back in his life his heart said with a genuine sincerity.
Manik*stutters*:What? No! Nan...nandini has nothing to do with it
Oh really? Both his conscience and heart questioned him sarcastically.
Manik: leave me the hell alone! Can you?
He let out a frustrated sigh and sat himself on the bed, still pondering over what to wear tonight when his mind clicked.
Nandini....he said with a smile and quickly fished out his phone to call her.

Nandini was almost done dolling her self up when her phone buzzed to life. Seeing manik calling her she started blushing having a sweet smile on her lips and quickly received his call.

Nan: hello
Man: hey sorry if I'm disturbing you
Nan: no budhu you are not....Kya hua? Something important?
Man*scratching the back of his neck sheepishly*: ha vo mujhe na kuch samjh nahi aa raha tha what to wear and as everyone are couples in our group except us so i wanted to match up with you
Nan: blazers suit you and ya I'm wearing a shade of peach
Nandini said and quickly cut the call without listening to Manik's reply. She smiled at the thought how manik needed her suggestion in whatever he does.
Manik's room
Manik*self talk*: yeh kya tha? Phone kaat diya aur bola bhi nahi what to wear?
Suddenly nandini's words flashed in his mind 'blazers suit you and ya I'm wearing a shade of peach' and then it clicked him what she meant. He rushed to his wardrobe and quickly got dressed.
It was around 6:15 when his friends started arriving at Manik's place. First came Cabir with navya, both dressed in a combination of white and black. Navya was wearing a black frock that reached just below her knees and Cabir contrasted her with his white shirt. Next were dhruv and alia dressed in pink. Alia wearing a pink one piece, reaching till her mid thigh with dhruv in his pink blazer. They were followed by mukti and abhimanyu matching each other perfectly in a combination of red and black. Mukti was wearing a red crop top paired up with her black jeans while Abhi wore a red T-shirt along with his black blazer. They all were chatting randomly sitting in the hall waiting for manik and nandini.
Mukti: Abhi choti humare saath kyu nahi aayi?
Abhi: are usko humare beech kabab me haddi nahi banna tha and vo ready bhi nahi hui thi toh usne kaha ki vo badme aa jaegi
Mukti: oh....ok
Alia: vaise mukti aaj koi special plans?
She asked looking at Abhi. Abhi raised his brow in question while mukti nodded.
Mukti: kuch socha toh hai...lets see how it goes
Abhi: am I missing something?
Mukti: nope....not at all
Dhruv: rehne de Abhi....in girls ke dimaag me kya chal raha hai yeh toh koi bhi nahi bata sakte
Cabir: yes dude....its always complicated
Navya: acha we are complicated?...toh tum log kya ho? Easy? Never! Tum log kab kya sochte ho aur kya karte ho yeh toh tum khud bhi nahi bata sakte
Cabir: whatever
Dhruv: ok guys stop now
Mukti: and dhruv the good boy is back!
She said air quoting her words.
Alia: baby come lets go
Mukti: what lets go? Manik aur choti ko toh aane de
At the very instant they saw manik walking down the stairs looking dapper as ever in his white tee and dark blue blazer paired up with blue jeans.
Cabir: Waah manik baba kise impress karne ka plan hai aaj?
Manik*smirks*: oh please Cabir mujhe kisiko impress karne ki zaroorat hi nahi padti because I'm the manik malhotra
Abhi: ha mere Bhai ab agar khudki tarif ho gayi ho toh nandu ko call kar....kabse try kar raha who but vo utha hi nahi rahi
Manik nodded and fished his phone out from his pocket.
Navya: rehne do...humne already laga diya
Manik*eye roll*: fine madhubalaji
Cabir: hey only I get to call her that!
He said possessively.
Manik: ok sorry Mr. Boyfriend
Aryaman: Cabir chill bro....she is all yours
Cabir*cheeky smile*: I know
He squeezed navya in his side hug.
Navya: Cabir ruko....nandu ne phone uthaya
Abhi: navya speaker par rakho
Navya obliged and kept the call on speaker.
Phone Convo
Nav: nandu kaha ho tum?
Nan: I'll be there in 5
Saying this nandini cut the call and the rest nodded their heads in disbelief.
Soon nandu made her entry and Manik's jaw dropped seeing her. She wore a peach gown which was backless with minimal make up and her hairs curled slightly from the bottom.
"Beautiful" manik whispered as soon as she entered but Cabir heard him.
Cabir: manik baba muh toh band kar de varna makkhi ghus jaegi
Cabir mocked him and received a glare in return.
Nandini: sorry sorry sorry I'm late
She said with a cute puppy face that could melt a rock even and these were her friends so they had to melt. They just smiled at her and mouthed an 'its ok'.
Aryaman: ab chale?
Abhi: ha
Meanwhile manik gets a call and tells them to go ahead and he would join them later after he ends the call as it was important. Others nodded and moved out in couples whereas aryaman joined mukti and Abhi as he did not have a partner. While moving out Cabir instructed the maid to lock the house and leave as soon as it gets empty and headed out with navya. Nandini began moving out but her dress wasn't allowing her to walk properly so she told navya to go and that she would join them later with manik after she seat her dress properly. Navya nodded and moved out.
After a while nandini came out after straightening her dressand saw that manik was moving out, busy in his phone when she called him.
Nandini: manik!
Manik*confused*: nandini tum yaha? I thought ki tum log chale gaye
Nandini: ha but main pani dress theek karne gayi thi aur tumhare liye ruki thi
Manik*grins*: oh mere liye wait kar rahi thi ha?
Nandini*stutters*: uh h-ha...matlab nahi...matlab ha bhi aur na bhi
Manik*confused*: what?
Nandini: kuch nahi...lets go
Nandini went to open the door but some grease got stuck her hand.
Nandini: arghgh my hand!
Manik: come....I'll help you remove this
They went to the washroom. On the otherside the maid saw no one around and hence locked the door thinking all left and she too went back home. Manik and nandini came out, manik tried to open the door but could not open it and banged his fist in anger.
Nandini: manik kya hua? Why are you so angry?
Manik: the door is locked nandini....we are locked inside the house!
Nandini*shocked*: whaaaat!?
Manik*sighs*: yes...we are locked!
