Chapter 13
Brooke's POV
I took out my homework and started to correct. I scribbled down the answers just as the phone rang and Mrs. Chen rushed to pick it up. The rest of the class continued to talk while she was on the phone, but she wasn't talking for too long.
"Brooke, they need you in the principle's office. Oh, and bring your things," She said as a chorus of 'oohs' rose through the class. I rolled my eyes, picked up my things, and walked out of the class.
I opened the door to Mr. Mahher's office and stepped inside. "Oh, Brooke. Come in," Mr. Mahher said cheerfully. Good. I'm not in trouble.
"So, this is Tiana, and she is going to be shadowing you," Mr. Mahher said gesturing to a petite Asian girl with silky straight hair sitting in the chair next to me.
"Well, you know what shadowing is right?" He asked shuffling some papers on his desk.
"Um, I don't," I said biting my lip.
"Oh, well Tiana is just going to follow your schedule for today so that she gets the feel of how things work her ok?" He explained.
"Yea," I smiled.
"Ok, well here's the key to the locker room, so go show her, her new locker," He said handing me a ring of keys, "Oh, and bring that back when you're done," We then exited the office and headed towards the gym lockers.
"Hi, I'm Brooke," I smiled, introducing myself.
"I'm Tiana. You seem like a pretty nice person" She smiled.
"Thanks," I laughed, "So how do you like the school so far? And I like you outfit," She's wearing a gray tank top under a teal cardigan with baby blue skinny jeans.
"Thanks. It's ok, it seems cool," She answered.
"Where were you from?" I asked.
"Chicago. It's different there, we had school buses, and lockers," She sighed.
"Oh, that's cool," I said.
"Yea, now I'm here, and I don't know any people yet," She sighed.
"That's ok, you can sit with me during lunch, ok?" I grinned. I already like this girl.

Finally, it was lunchtime. I led Tiana towards our usual table.
"Hey! Who's she?" Adam smiled as he kissed my cheek.
"This is Tiana. Tiana this is Adam my boyfriend," I grinned.
"Hi," She said smiling while giving him a little wave.
"Hey, where's Clayton?" I said looking around as I took out my lunch.
"Right there," Adam laughed pointing to Clayton.
"Oh," I said as Clayton slid into the seat across from me.
"Tiana, this is Clayton," I said introducing Her to Clayton.
"Hi," She said smiling at the ground.
"Oh, uh. . . um. Hi," He stuttered as I burst out laughing. Clayton's never nervous. He glared at me, then focused on his food for the rest of lunch.

After history, we walked to Language Arts. "You and Adam are a really cute couple," Tiana said.
"I don't know about that," I said, blushing.
"Yes you guys are," She gushed.
"What about you? Do you like anyone yet?" I smirked.
"May-be," She said quietly.
"I think you like someone," I sang teasingly.
"Oh, well are all the people here rich with mansions and stuff?" She asked trying to change the topic.
"Not all of them, and don't try and change the subject, missy," I frowned as she rolled her eyes.
"It's my first day here, and you're already asking me who I like," She said raising her eyebrow.
"Ok, ok, I'll ask you tomorrow," I shrugged.
"Thanks for understanding," She laughed sarcastically.
"Hey, there's a costume party next Saturday, and Adam is dragging me there, so do you want to come with me? You can meet more people and stuff? Please!" I begged.
"Sure, but I don't have a costume," She said biting her lip.
"I got that covered," I smirked as we entered the class room. The first thing I saw when I entered was not the teacher, but Zac. He was looking at me, well actually, he was looking at Tiana.
"Hey. Who's the new girl," He said aproaching us.
"Tiana," I said giving him a fake smile before leading Tiana towards the empty desk behind mine.
"Where's the teacher?" Tiana asked curiously.
"Oh, Mrs. Clark. She's always late," I said sitting down.
"And, who's he?" She whispered pointing to Zac.
Sadly, Zac heard her and yelled, "I'm Brooke's best friend,"
"EX. Best friend," I yelled back.
"Oh, what happened?" Tiana asked.
"Long story. I'll tell you later," I grinned as Mrs. Clark hurried into the room.
