It was the weekend for the Cup of China and Javi, Yuzu, Coach, and I had just arrived at the Beijing airport
"I can't wait to see the crew of the Yuzulotte ship!" Javi says excitedly as we wait for our luggages to come from the shoot
The two us are holding hands once again, almost like it's instinct. I don't mind though and Yuzu doesn't seem to either, but maybe Javi does
"Javi, why are you like this?" I ask him, motioning my hand to where he's typing aggressively into his phone
"The Yuzulotte ship isn't a phase, it's a lifestyle" he says with some attitude
"Ooo, there's my suitcase" Javi says running to grab his luggage
"Charlie-san, do you think we can get into the chat?" Yuzu asks, turning to me
"Don't think so, Yuzu-kun. I'm guessing Javi wants to keep it from us" I say back
Javi soon returns from the crowd with his bag. Right on time Fernandez
"Oh, I see mine" I say, pointing to the black luggage
"Me too" Yuzu adds. The two of us make our way through the crowd to obtain our bags. I reach over to grab mine, when Yuzu cuts in front of me
"I can get it Yuzu-kun, you don't have to" I say reaching over to grab the bag
"No Charlie-san, you're the baby. I got it" Yuzu says, dropping my suitcase by my feet and going to get his own
I guess I can see why the group ships us. We do kinda act like a couple...do we?

The three of us including Coach made it to the hotel which we will be staying at for the weekend and the first person who greets us is Scott
"Charlie! You didn't bring me grandchildren yet did you?"Scott asks
"Not until you date Tessa, no" I shoot back
"OOOOOOO" Coach, Yuzu , and Javi call from behind me
"Charlie, you don't need to hide your love for Yuzu. He's not hiding it from you" Scott says grabbing me into a noogie
"Scotty! You're messing up my hair" I groan
As I'm in Scott's choke hold, I can't help but notice a short brunette girl in a Team Russia jacket approach Yuzu
"Hi Yuzuru! I'm a really big fan of yours, could I get a picture with you?" she asks

"Sure" Yuzu says shooting her a smile
I can't help but feel my blood boil at the sight
I mean, I do admit that I love Yuzu in the non platonic way, but never in a million years would I say that out loud
After Skate Canada in October, I began to goggle search her and found out she really admired Yuzu. I guess I can't be too surprised that she's infatuated with him because I mean I am too
I know this a competition but this right here, is a competition
"A little peanut butter and jelly?" Scott jokes, as he sees the look on my face
"Oh shut up Scott, you're like 40" I shoot back
"Hey I'm only 29!" Scott shouts back

Just like at Skate Canada, all the senior skaters came to gather in Javi's room, probably to catch up on the gossip they've heard about Yuzu and I
"Charlie, I heard you're skating to Slow Club for the exhibition! I can't wait to see it" Kaetlyn says with a smile
"Me too. I had so much fun making it with Kurt! I've never tried skating to folk pop before"
Suddenly the door to the room bursted open and two more people came in
I guess the party's getting bigger huh?
"Kanako-san! Mao-san!" Yuzu shouts, shooting up from his place next to me on the bed
I watch as he greets them at the door by pulling them into hugs
I've talked to Mao and Kanako a few times. I remember seeing them for the first time at Skate Canada a few years ago. Back then it was just friendly talk like "congrats" or "great program." Although I did finish 5th that year...
I watch as Yuzu sits with them on the sofa near the front of the room, chating up with them in Japanese
"You jealous Charlie?" Ashley says, making me snap my head over to where she was across from me
"No. Of course not! He can do whatever he wants" I say stubbornly
"Sure Charlie. We all know your the jealous one in the relationship" Javi adds, sounding unconvinced

"The total score for Yuzuru Hanyu is...100.79. He is currently in first place! This concludes the men's short program event"
I watch from the gate of the rink waiting for the ladies short event, as Yuzu and Coach Orser are sat at the Kiss & Cry celebrating the win
"He's so cute, isn't he?" Says a voice with a hint of Russian in it
I turn around to see who was talking to me
Evgenia
Oh...
She was the one who was chatting up Yuzu in the hotel lobby...
"Ladies please take the ice for your 6 minute warm up"
And away we went
For the duration warm up I couldn't get the thought of Evgenia and Yuzu out of my mind
"Charlie, is there something going on? You're not really there today. Mentally I mean" Coach ask as I skate over to the boards
"I'm here Coach" I reply, not too sure with my response
"Alright on the triple toe.."

"Representing Canada, Charlotte Akagi!"
I skate onto the ice after Evgenia's scores were announced; 76.85
As I pose on the middle of ice and wait for the music to start, I can't help but watch as she approaches Yuzu
I can see her and Yuzu chatting. She says something that makes him burst out laughing
I advert my eyes from the scene and to the ice, as the music for my short starts
My program starts off with the triple toe. Once I end my Ina Bauer, I go into a sequence of double-threes and jump into the triple toe. I pull up into the jump with one hand above my head, landing in a spread eagle
The crowd cheers as I move into my layback, pulling my right leg into a hair cutter, then a pearl, eventually into a biellman. I exit the spin, moving into my second; a camel, swan, donut followed by a back shoot the duck. Before exiting the spin, I pull the boot of my skate up grabbing the back of my knee to spin in a Y position
Now for the fun part. The step sequence
Every time I skate my short's step sequence I imagine Yuzu by my side helping me dance across the length of the rink
I pull my body from left to right as I continue on with my one foot sequence, feeling the burn in my right calf
At the end of my sequence I skate around jumping into my triple axel
Shit! I doubled it...
I play off my little mistake by skating to the other end of the ice for my combo
Where Yuzu and Evgenia are still chatting...
I watch as his holds up Pooh-san and taps Evgenia's nose with the face of the plushie, like he did to me so many times before

No
Now I know I have to get this combo. I'm not willing to let her beat me. Not when she's chatting up MY MAN during MY program
Well technically he's not my man...
I skate into the corner of the rink, preparing myself for this combo
Up on the triple lutz, up on the triple loop, up on the double loop
A clean combo!
The crowd cheers as I go into the final spin of my program. I jump into a flying camel and twist my body a little to the side, I then duck down into a pancake then a reverse pancake, finishing the spin
The music slows down as my short comes to an end and I finish off in my final pose
Thank god
I did it
And the only mistake I made was the axel
I skate over to Coach at the side of the rink where he pulls me into a hug
"The marks are gonna be big hun, although that axel should've been a triple" he says releasing me from the hug
He passes me my guards as the two of us move on over to the Kiss & Cry, awaiting the results
"I know you were a bit distracted out there" he whispers once we're sat at the booth
I turn to look at him with a questioning look, although I know what's he's pushing at
"Yuzu and Evgenia",he says simply, "I saw the way you were looking at them"
I look at him with a shocked expression before he chuckles and continues on
"Charlie, I may be 55 but that doesn't mean I can't tell when a girl's in love"
Before I can reply, the announcer's voice booms throughout the stadium
"The total score please for Charlotte Akagi...78.23; she is currently in first place. This concludes the ladies short program event"
"Well you did it again kiddo. Just gotta nail that long" Coach says pulling me into a side hug
I nod my head as my eyes glance on over to Evgenia and Yuzu once again. Yuzu catches my eyes and waves to me from where he is, making Evgenia look over. Although I'm kinda pissed at the girl, this is figure skating and showing sportsmanship is vital. I bite the bullet and pull a small smile waving to her as well
