Echo walked into Isabelle's room just as she handed Clary a tight black dress.
"Echo, come to join the fun?"
Clary disappeared behind the divider, "Figured I needed an outfit to blend in."
Isabelle gave a wide smile, "Perfect! I have just the dress for you."
Isabelle pulled a dark red dress from her armoire, the dress had an asymmetrical hem, one side was short and the other side dangled to about ankle length. The top of the dress was haltered and the material closely resembled a glittering stars.
Echo took the dress in her hands as Clary emerged from changing. Clary looked over at her sister, "What happened to your hair?"
Echo gave a heavy sigh, "I don't know, don't ask."
Echo brushed past Clary and dressed in the fabric.
The dress looked bright against her newly pale skin and the golden flecks of the material glittered in the sunlight. Echo pulled out from behind the screen and Isabelle handed her golden heels. Echo looked over at Clary and saw that her sister looked Echo's age.
"Absolutely not."
Isabelle bit her lip, "Absolutely yes."
Echo adjusted the dress in the mirror and stepped back just as Jace came into the room.
"Someone's looking badass."
Clary blushed and Echo exited the room along with Isabelle who was envisioning what Alec would wear to the party.
When they got to the Control area, Isabelle touched Echo's thick locks, "I like the colour."
Echo looked at Isabelle, "Thank you?"
Isabelle gave a simple smile and called Alec.
Echo sat at the table she was previously at when they were talking about Magnus. Her Stele was in her hands again and she glanced up at Alec and Isabelle who were in the training room readying weapons.
Alec had told her to rest when she can and that he would be giving her a Seraph blade. Echo had declined it, but Alec had been insistent and set the blade on the table in front of her.
As Echo twirled the Stele in her hands, she couldn't help but think that Alec really didn't like Clary, but he liked Echo. She thought this was strange. Shouldn't he dislike them both? They both ruined their missions and the sisters are both making it so that they go against the Clave. Why is Alec doing this?

Echo was now standing with Jace and Clary in line to enter the rave sight. Echo didn't care much of what Clary and Jace were saying, but was more focused on the vibe and the feeling she got from the place. It's as if she could feel the Warlock inside. Alec and Isabelle soon joined them.
"All clear."
Echo gripped her elbow and stood with effort.
"Do you think red's my colour?"
Echo scoffed, "With a body like yours everything is your colour."
Isabelle smiled and touched the necklace, "Damn, I make this necklace look so good."
Alec rolled his eyes, "Take it off, I'm certain Magnus Bane doesn't want drool on his ruby when we make the exchange."
Echo gave a small smile as Isabelle made a comment.
"Can you just give it to Jace?"
Isabelle took the necklace off and when she passed it to Jace, Echo notice the ruby slightly shimmer as it passed over her. Nobody else seemed to notice the act of the magical gem.
When they entered the rave, Echo noticed the people dancing and she couldn't help put feel dizzy just at the sight of them. Jace lead the group, "Blend in, but keep your weapons ready."
Echo felt the Seraph handle dig into her thigh where she had it hidden.
She gave a sigh and stayed by Alec as Jace and Clary found Magnus Bane.
Echo wanted to approach the Warlock, but the way that Jace lead Clary, made her get the vibe that this was a private matter.
Alec touched Echo's shoulder, "Don't you want to go with them?"
Echo shook her head, "No, I remember Magnus and I'm sure he remembers me."
Suddenly Magnus looked over to where Echo was standing and pointed to her asking Clary a question. Clary turned to her sister and Echo saw Clary gesture that she was wanted over there.
Echo sighed, "Never mind. Be right back."
Echo approached Clary and Magnus gave Echo a smile.
"My, my, don't you look ravishing. Although, I don't remember your hair being that colour." Magnus hummed, "It suites you."
"What do you want Magnus?"
"I want you and your sister to come with me to my lair. You will be safe there."
Echo crossed her arms, "Why would we go with you?"
"Magnus doesn't have our memories anymore. He gave them to a memory demon."
Echo's shoulders tightened, "A memory demon? Was that really the only place?"
Magnus clapped his hands together; "Valentine would have tortured me just like he tortured Dot."
"Tortured?" Echo asked.
"Wait is Dot okay?" Clary asked eyeing her sister.
Magnus looked grim, "You don't know?" Magnus paused, "Dot is dead."
Echo could feel herself trying to feel sad, but the emotion didn't come to her, but saw her sister's eyes gloss over.
"What? How do you know?"
Magnus glanced between Echo and Clary; "I can't feel her magic anymore. Valentine killed her because she would not betray your mother."
Clary shook her head.
Magnus reached both his hands out toward both of the sisters, "Come with me."
Clary pulled away from Magnus, "No! I'm not going anywhere with you."
Magnus looked at Echo momentarily, "Don't be a fool."
"Help me get my memories back, from whatever demon you gave them to."
Echo sighed; Clary was being dramatic, again.
"Valentine is hunting both of you. And a moment you are both outside the lair is a moment Valentine comes closer to finding us."
Magnus set his jaw and opened a portal with the flick of his fingers; he held out his hands again toward the sisters.
"Come with me."
Echo could feel the trust coming out from Magnus, but she could feel the skepticism from Clary.
"No."
Echo sighed, "You're being stupid, Clary."
Magnus eyed Echo then Clary just as they heard Isabelle shout.
The four of them ducked as an arrow flew past them; The arrow grazed the edge of Echo's arm and she heard her skin sizzle. She swallowed and stood back up and saw the arrow protruding out of a man's chest. Echo and Jace pulled out their Seraph blades as Alec joined them.
Echo watched as Magnus eyed Alec with a sense of curiosity, "Who are you?"
Alec took the Seraph dagger from the man's hand and stood up. Then suddenly Magnus was next to the portal.
"Magnus wait!" Clary pulled at his arm, "You're my only hope."
Echo licked her lips at the cliché line.
"Valentine found us," Magnus said looking behind Clary, "I warned your mother this might happen."
And with one final glance at Echo and Clary, Magnus walked through the portal.
"We should have gone with him," Echo said just loud enough from only Jace, who was standing beside her, to hear.
"He was the only assassin," Isabelle said coming to join the group.
"He has a Circle rune around his neck."
Jace gripped his Seraph blade, "They found us; It's not safe here. We have to go."
Clary sat on the table with a somber expression and Echo sighed.
"Come on." Echo took Clary's arm and handed her off to Isabelle. Jace led the way to the back of the building and strutted outside with Alec and Echo on his heels.
"Echo."
Echo turned to see Isabelle staring at her and then gestured to Clary.
"Clary, we have to go."
Clary looked up with annoyance, "I'm catching my breath."
Echo folded her arms, "What for? Because Dot is dead? Or the fact that Magnus didn't give us our memories? Clary, wake up! This is what happens. We move on, we create another plan. You have to remember this isn't just about you! This is happening to me too!"
Clary took a step forward, "Mom is missing! And the last chance of finding her just disappeared into thin air!"
Jace interjected, "It's going to be fine."
Clary turned to him, "No it's not! Magnus will never come out of hiding again. We are never going to find him!" Clary threw her hand down and Jace caught it.
Echo took a step away from her sister, suddenly afraid that she would hurt her. Jace held up what he caught from Clary's hand; it was a button from Magnus's shirt.
"You give up way too easy."
Jace walked a few feet away with his back turned to them. Echo used that time to sit on the steps and put her head in her hands; her headache was getting worse and the feeling of anger was intensifying. Alec gave a glance at Echo, before walking up to Jace.
Echo knew what they were doing, but she had never seen it happen before. She thought the ritual was oddly intimate and Clary voiced what she was thinking. After a few more seconds of awkward staring, Jace shook his head and nodded. It took Alec a second to wash away the emotion he was feeling and followed Jace, with Clary, Isabelle and Echo on his heels.
