I was meant to fly
Yet my wings lay still at my sides
The clouds
The rushing wind
They call to me
And barely a feather moves
Sometimes
I will feel them begin to open
The breeze runs through my primaries
But instead of extending
Instead of readying for flight
They tremble and fall limp
My hope and happiness
Crushed once more
Why?
Why must I be trapped by myself?
I fail myself over and over
My wings are broken
In so many ways
Weak
Time and time again, I try to force myself into the air
But I just end up breaking further
Will I ever leave the ground?
Can my wings even be repaired?
Am I truly meant to fly.....?
