Falling in love
What a fantastic complication in life
It is like being handed a road map with no street names
And then being told to arrive within the hour
Where are you going?
How do you get there?
Will you ever reach your destination?
And it shows itself in a variety of ways
It isn't always a moment where your heart explodes and your eyes stop seeing and your mind can't think of anything else besides the words I love you...
Sometimes
It is how you find yourself lost in the color of their eyes
How you unconsciously contemplate the delicate curve of their lips
And how they would feel pressed against your own
It is how their laughter causes happiness to blossom within your heart in a way you've never experienced
How you have difficulty keeping a small smile from slipping onto your face when you look at them
It is how you tell them you love them without saying a word
Without writing it down
Sometimes without knowing it yourself
Not knowing what the warmth, creating a pool of sunshine in your soul, is from
Not knowing how deeply you embrace their being
How much you hope for them to understand
It is how you may have pictured one particular person as you read this
Oh what a complex, terrifying, and lovely thing.....

Hey guys! This was supposed to be a post for yesterday so we'll just pretend it's not past midnight. I got the idea from the lovely human being that is celestialerror, so from here until Christmas I am going to do my best to post a piece of poetry at least once a day. Speaking of celestialerror, please please go check out their book Tongue Tied, it is absolutely amazing. Like seriously, their writing is incredible.
Anyway, thanks for reading, I hope you're all doing well!
Stay beautiful :)
