The word "destiny" was never a word both me and -my best friend- Lissa liked.
A word that sometimes leads you to amazing destination but sometimes it doesn't. Well for me, neither describe my situation.
My best friend Vasilisa Dragomir is one of the 12 royal families in our world and she's the one who rules us all. The Queen. Queen Vasilisa Dragomir. Yes it's kinda weird not being the normal girls we were, but then again with us, weird, doesn't begin to cover it.
I'm Rose Hathaway, no, let's try this again.
I'm Guardian Rose Hathaway, the head guardian of the Queen. The most rebellious girl in the academy and the one with the most bad marks. But then again I was the girl with the most Strigoi kills at that age.
My former lover, my soulmate, is Dimitri Belikov. The "Russian God" as everyone described him. But unfortunately over the year that changed to The ex-Strigoi. He was really stubborn and pushed me away when he changed back so I "tried" to let the love fade, because someone said his had. It didn't work. We somehow found our way back to each other but it broke some hearts. Adrian. At the beginning it was hard but then we were back to being friends. Like I said to him, he finally found himself someone, but to be honest I never expected it to be Sidney.
Back to my story. We found each other again but I said to him that if he couldn't forgive himself then we can't go on. But when I was shot to death -almost-, he forgave himself.
Yea, I know it was a little bit late. But I'm alive, thankfully.
Now we're together, and we don't need to hide that anymore.
My parents actually had "the talk" with him. They went on a hunting trip. When they were back Dimitri was like a little kid that just got bullied. He was so scared. I couldn't help but laugh, well I told him to run before any of them come back.
As for my wonderful parents, Guardian Jeanine Hathaway, a amazing guardian and not the greatest mother, at first. Well I can't really argue with that, we've had our up's and downs, but in this year we've grown closer.
Then there's my dad, who I met earlier this year, Ibrahim Abe Mazur, everyone was left with open hanging yaw's when the found out I'm his daughter. Well were pretty alike, but we don't really have the same taste in fashion.
Life now is different, being always by Lissa's side, -I mean the Queen- its weird. Not that I don't want to but she's the Queen, doing her Queen duties and going to college. And that's the most boring part. I have to stand there while they all have math, history and all those boring classes.
Right now they are having math and Rose Hathaway hates math. I was the worst student in math class. My grades the lowest. And right now I have no idea what they are taking about.
God, why do I have to listen to this bullshit?
I thought but that something i never expected happened. Lissa turned her head to the corner of the room (to me) and her expression was shocked. I could feel her emotions, shocked, confused, scared.
Wait, I could feel her? Rose? Then there it was, her voice in my mind. Rose was that you?
She heard my thoughts earlier. Does this mean.. The bond us back!
We both yelled in surprise. A few minutes later her class ended and she ran towards me, excited.
"Rose you have no idea how happy I am. The bond is back!" Me and Lissa shared a psychic bond. The bond was made when Lissa broth me back from the dead from a bad car accident and earlier we thought that we lost the bond. Maybe it was just shut down because she didn't bring me back, because I broth myself back from the dead this time. Okay it's getting weird taking about my death experience.
Before I was able to go in her head and she want able to talk to me, psychically. It was one-way, but now I can talk to her too. I hope she can't see through me.
I laughed teasingly then heard her stomach grumble. "Come on, your majesty, you have to eat." She was happy for the bond and me, if I wasn't in guardian mode I'd jump up and down like a little kid.
I really missed the bond. It was like something I got attachment to and it was really weird not to read her thoughts and feelings.
"So if we can communicate, does that mean I can see through you too?"
"I don't know, try and focus on me." She was trying but I saw nothing happen.
"I can't. Oh why are you the one that can see in my head. It's not fair."
I laughed at that. "Well Lissa maybe it's better this way." She gave me a 'really?' look. "This way I know when you're in trouble."
"And I never know if you're okay. Like now, you're always hiding those things from me." We entered the worst part of the school. The "cafeteria".
Well here Moroi feed from human volunteers -feeders- because Moroi have to feed and the humans are addicted to the bite. To them it's like drugs.
I was waiting for Liss in the waiting room. I can't stand it in there. It's disgusting.
"Rosemarie Hathaway." I heard a voice coming from the distance. "Nice to see you again."
"Hey Meridith." I said a little embarrassed and sorry. Last time I saw her I knocked her out so I can escape. "Hey I'm sorry for last time-."
"No need to be. I'm happy that you're free and, well, alive." She interrupted with an approving smile. I smiled back feeling a little guilty about what I did to her. She ended up in a hospital, so yeah, it was pretty bad.
"So you go to Lehigh?"
"Nope. I'm here on duty. Like you."
"Oh, who did they gave you?"
"Jessie Zeklos." I'm sorry for her. Wait. What?!
"Jessie is college? Jessie? The Jessie I know?" That's not possible. He was a trouble maker and I never expected someone like him to go to college.
"Yep. But he's changed. He's not the bad boy you know. He's nice now." Yea that's definitely not the Jessie I know. She smiled and blushed slightly. Aw, she has a crush on him. Don't go that path girl, you'll end up nowhere.
We were interrupted by Lissa. She was fed and now had a horrible breath.
"Hey." I said in disgust, taking a mint and putting it into her mouth.
"Your majesty." Meridith bowed down to Lissa and she was frustrated that even her friends use titles.
"It's Lissa when were alone."
"Sorry Lissa." They crept taking and i zoned out a little. I was thinking about everything that has happened this last year. Yes you can live a lifetime in only a year, that's exactly what happened to me.
"I have to go now, I'll see you tomorrow." We said our goodbyes and we were headed to the SUV that was waiting for us outside the gates of the school.
We headed back and to my surprise Dimitri and Christian were waiting for us at Lissa's room.
It's kinda creepy being in a room where Queen Tatiana was murdered but I got used to it. It's not like they are going to make another one for every new Queen.
"Rose." Dimitri smiled and hugged me from behind. I turned around and connected my lips with his. God I missed him so much. We haven't seen each other in two weeks. "I missed you Roza."
His words were like soft silk against my skin. "I missed you too comrade."
"Guys we've got the bond back." Lissa smiled as she was leaning her head on Christian's chest.
"Oh." Both of them looked surprised. "That's amazing."
"Just Rose get out of Lissa's head when something private is happening."
"I wouldn't think to stay there for a second longer." I made a disgusted face, I don't want to know Lissa's sex life. That's gross.
"So guys, tonight, we can all go to dinner together. Something like a double date." I hear Christian say, as Dimitri nodded him head. They were planning this and I can already assume that they have made a reservation.
"Oh that would be amazing," I smirked and they were all ready for my sarcastic comment. "except what about the 20 guardians around us, I think it would be more than a double date."
"They would be outside and plus it would feel like they aren't really here." This time Lissa protested and she has a pleading look in her eyes. "Please, it would be great. Away from duties and school."
"Okay." I agreed and they all cheered.
Amazing, now the first thing that will pop to Lissa's head will be...wait for it.
"Oh we have to go shopping." Told ya, so now I have to convince her to pick anything other because she literally has a closet that's almost big as a house.
"Lissa, no. You have many beautiful dresses. Come on I'll pick out one for you."
"But what about you, you need a dress. We have to go s-"
"No. We are not going shopping your majesty. You have dresses and if you want me to wear something that's not already worn you can give me something yours."
"Okay." She groaned as I led her to the closet.
This will be a looong day...
So new story guys. I really wanted to do something for the Vampire Academy series anniversary, so I chose to make a new fanfict about it. With a whole different idea.
