Cookie P.O.V
"Candice I don't care if your my sister I will shoot you if you take another step" I shout blood streaming down my face as my hand clutches the gun for dear life.
"I've always hated you bitch! Shoot me I don't care!" Candice screams rushing me with tears meeting under her chin. I back up as fast as I can but she won't stop.
"Candice stop!" I shout as I pull the trigger.
Pop.
I open my eyes, where is she. As I scope out the room I can't find her.
Did I hit her?
God help me. Just then I hear what seems to be wheezing. I look down to find Candice laying beside my desk.
"Oh my god" I rush to her trying to stop the blood that's flowing out the hole in her side from my bullet. "I told you to stop, my god I'm sorry" I shout applying pressure. Just them the wailing of police sirens are heard in the distance.
"Hold on Candice, hold on" I cry trying to help her even though she's fighting me with all her might.
"Get the fuck off me bitch! Let me die" she pushes me hard as she can as the police kick in the door.
"Help her" the paramedics instantly start to fix her as she fights them.
"What happened?" the police question eyeing me from head to toe.
"Who shot her?" The detectives look around the room as I answer.
"I did" they turn to me eyes wide.
"Cookie Lyon, I'm gonna need you to come with us until we sort things out" the man immediately says.
"It was an accident" I press.
"Maybe it was but your still gonna have to come with us" as they cuff me I cant help but feel like it's that day almost 18 years ago.
5 Hours Earlier
"Ma come to the studio, I need ya help" mal cries through my phone as I lay in bed cuddled up with my baby.
"Boy why you callin ya momma at these type of hours?" Lu says into the phone on speaker.
"Ew dad your with mom. I don't even wanna know what y'all doing" he rasps choking.
"Nothing that inappropriate, I promise" I laugh.
"Everything's inappropriate when y'all together" he jokes.
"True" Lu laughs smiling as he kisses my neck.
"Maaa, come please" mal whines once again.
"I just got home for the night babe, and I just layed down" I whine equally frustrated.
"Please mama cookie" he begs.
"Give me a hour" I cave making Lu sigh.
"No baby come on" Lu says wrapping his arms around me for dear life.
"I'll be back don't worry love" I add sliding out of bed.

I get to Empire about an hour later. Its almost midnight so its like a ghost town in her. I take the elevator up to studio 5 where mal is.
"Ma your here!"he shouts as soon as the door opens.
"Boy didn't I say I was comin?" I press.
" I know I just love your presence" he smiles as I walk towards the sound board.
"Everyone does" I smirk.
"True. Okay so you wanna hear what I've got?" He asks.
"Of course, what the name of the song?"
"I made it after family dinner"
"Ugh it must be horrible" I joke.
"Its called chasing the sky" mal says as he walks into the booth.

"That sounds dope" he smiles as he picks up his phone to call Keem.
"What?" Keem rasps it the phone.
"Come to the studio" mal throws out.
"Nah bro I just layed my ass down" keem jokes.
"Babe who dat?" Tiana says.
"Jamal talkin bout come to the studio" he laughs.
"Go I don't care I'm going to sleep anyways" tiana jokes. "Hi jamal!" She screams before exiting the room.
"Guess I'm coming"
Not only minutes later does keem arrive in nothing but I pair of basket ball shorts and a cap to match.
"This song better be dope, I brought my ass outta bed for this" he pokes sitting down and listening to the track.
"You like" I question once he's finished.
"Dope, but what do it gotta do with me" keem laughs.
"Ma wants you to rap on it, and dad to sing on it too"
"Bet. I already got sum" he slowly walks into the booth and I play it from where it stopped.

"Bloods supposed to be thicker than water is nowdays we can't even stomach the thought of it

Too busy pointing fingers like it's politics. You tell me shut up I tell you be quiet. Too much dysfunction.
Cut up like we in a riot kicking and punching. Ain't nobody here to mediate it. You can't even tell that we are related.
Why are we even throwing blows in the first place? We fight at cookouts, picnics and birthdays. You try to get the benefit but in to worse case you keep on talking smack you end up with a hurt face.
You tried everything now its time for plan B. If bloods and Krips can reconcile why can't we?

"I love it boys!" I scream making mal smile just as my phone rings. I look down expecting to see Lu calling instead its a unknown number.

"Its me"
"Candice" I question confused as I step out of the room.
"Can you meet me?"
"Meet you? It's almost three in the morning" I state realizing I've been at the studio for almost two hours.
"Can you?" She sounds desperate.
"Where are you?" I push.
"At Empire"
"What? Where? I'm here right now" I ask looking around.
"I'm in your office" is all she says before the line goes dead.
What could she possibly want from me. The last time we talked was that bullshit family dinner. I hop on the elevator shooting Lu a text.

I look up to realize I've reached the 35 floor. Geez why are our offices so damn high up. I await the 50 floor as I scan myself in the mirror.
I hop off the elevator and it's completely dark.
"Hello" I scope out the floor before walking deeper into the halls. I look in Lu's office just to check before walking across the hall to my office. I click on the light and my sisters no where to be found.
"Candice!? Candice?! Can-" I cut myself off when I notice her back towards me as she sits by my desk enjoying the view of the city. I approach her and sit, glancing over every now and then to see if she'd talk. Her eyes are puffy like she's been crying. After a good twenty minutes she speaks up.
"He left me" she spits out of nowhere.
"Who?" I question turning to her.
"Jason. He said things were getting too hard and he couldn't deal with both a failing marriage and going broke at the same time" this price of information surprises me.
"Oh my god Candice I didn't know, are you okay?" I ask placing my hand on her shoulder.
"I'm not okay" she rasps as tears flow from her eyes.
"You'll be alright, you can find someone else-"
"No, okay cookie I can't. I'm not like you. I'm not funny, and outgoing or down to earth-" she cuts me off.
"Yes, you are Candice"
"No I'm not. Its always been you Cookie. I mean you've always been prettier. Always had the better body, better hair! I mean every boy wanted you and you didn't even know it. Plus you never had to do anything for a boy to notice you they all seemed to fall under your spell. You got the better kids, a great husband, friends. Me on the other hand got nothing, nobody. You've always had the better life-"
"Wait, wait a minute pause. We were both dealt the same cards. Just because I played mines right don't mean anything. I've been through shit too Candice. I've faced the same heartbreak, betrayal, and loneliness to last me a life time so don't sit there and tell me my life's been peaches and cream" I spit removing my hand from her shoulders.
"But it has! It really has, your a billionaire and you've been out of jail almost two years!"
"Is that what life means to you? Money and power isn't what's important"
"Oh really than what is?"
"Family, love, happiness" I counter.
"Maybe for you but not me" she crosses her arms staring at me.
"That's where you go wrong Candice. You shouldn't seek out that stuff it should come to you. That's the difference between us Candice, we want different things. Your all about material things, and that's not how life works" I teach standing to leave.
"Easy for you to say, you got a family and money! You have it all"
"You can too Candice if you just want it. Put your heart into it" I add.
"Can you help me?"
"Help you what exactly" I question.
"Can you lend me some money, I mean I can get him back if I have the money-"
"Seriously Candice, money isn't the problem here-" I laugh being cut off once again.
"You can always lend carol money so why can't you lend me some, I'm not asking for much"
"Candice it isn't the money. I can do that but I'm not giving you money just so you can turn around and stab me in the back, I know you Candice" I murmur looking her up and down.
"You don't know shit" I look over at the clock to see that its going on five hours since I left my comfortable bed. Ugh this is bull, I'm tired and the suns coming up.
"Canidce if you have nothing else to say to me I'll be leaving" I say gathering my things. Out of nowhere she rushes me pushing me again my file cabinet."Bitch have you lost your mind?!" I scream, she's crazy.
"If you won't give me the money, I don't have shit to live for!" She screams crazed.
"What the hell that got to do with me! I tried to hear you out but Candice your asking for he same shit, money not a sister and that's all I'm offering!"
"I don't want to be your sister! I hate you" she shouts swinging this big ass sculpture at my head.
Lucious P.O.V
I roll over to see my baby hasn't gotten into bed yet, it almost four in the morning and she left at midnight.
I pull out my phone to see the message she sent to me nearly two hours ago. She said she be home in a few , and the fact that she's with Candice gives me zero peace. I had camera's installed in her office and I know I'm not supposed to spy on her but I can't sleep not knowing where she is.
I open my laptop and scan the cameras everything looks in place until I click on cooks screen. It looks like she fighting with someone. Like scraping, they are punching,throwing, and banging each other against things. When I realize its Candice I dial the police.
"I'll kill you bitch!" Candice screams throwing one of cooks books at her head. I can see blood pouring out her head at this point. I direct the police to her house and jump up to put my clothes on still trying to watch t fight to the death unfold. I can tell Cookie's not really fighting her because she woulda been out cold twenty minutes ago. I see Candice pull a gun and that's when cookie rushes her fighting the gun out of her hands.
