Farkle's POV:
When you have a fight with you bestfriend, what do they do?
a). Cry
b). Shout at you
c). Question their friendship with you
d). Or all of above?
You see, I always believed that there would be another option. An option in which could happen right now at the snap of my fingers.
After our fights, we would say sorry to each other and hug it out. That's what should happen, right?
I mean, unless you have a fake friend, that's when the options are closed.
Having friends are like having a diary, you cherish your moments together and make sure that it's always safe. But the minute you lose it, all of your secrets - they will all be said out loud.
But back to the point, Riley and I were aruging. Like our lives depended on it.
Riley's hand was near my face, I close my eyes - expecting a pang of pain to hit my cheek but nothing happened.
"Farkle..." I hear a sob infront of me. I slowly opened my eyes to see Riley's hand stopping near my face, no touching me.
She-she didn't slap me?
"Farkle, he wouldn't do that."
"Riley, it's true." I say, telling the truth but all I could see from Riley's face was just the words:
I don't know who to trust.
"You're lying, you're lying!" She sobs, shaking her head - trying to believe that her boyfriend wasn't like that, that he loved her.
"I'm not, I'm telling you the truth,"
"No you're not!" She says in disbelief, as a result making me just scoff.
"What do you not understand? He's cheating on you!" I reply in more anger, "I am just being the true friend I was!"

When they were both 14 years old:
My eyes notice a special purple room's window open, I climb onto the ladder and walk into the room through the window to see a Riley sitting crossed legs on the floor. Her hair was half up into a bun and down, her head turns around and her eyes lock into mine. A smile forms onto her face, melting my heart with sweetness from her smile. She moves nearer to me as I sit down on the floor.
"Hello Farkle," She says with a smile.
"Hello Riley," I say happily, but then I realises, she was smiling a little too much for my liking. A little too much that it's suspicious.
"Riley, your sad. Tell me what's wrong." I tell her and she rolls her eyes before pouting and lying her head onto my lap.
"No."
"Riley Matthews, or else I'll tell your dad that you lied to him about studying that one time but you copied off Maya on the Spanish test." I blackmailed her, so that she would tell the truth. She gasps at what I said.
"You wouldn't..." She gasped, with my left eyebrow raised and a smirk planted on my face, I replied shouting, "MR MATTH—"
My voice was muffled after Riley covered my mouth with her hand, I roll my eyes and she looks at me.
She slowly takes off her hand from my mouth, hoping I wouldn't repeat what I said.
"Riley, what's wrong?" I say, her head was still lying on my lap. She sighs as my hands play with her brunette hair.
"Lucas said we should break up, and-and it's because of Maya." My eyebrows raise hearing this, Lucas broke up with her?"I want to scream and basically push Maya off a cliff but I love her. She's only took Lucas's heart, yet it feels like she took my whoel world."
I stop playing with her hair and gesture her to sit up, she did what I said sitting infront of me.
"Riley, there are going to be more boys in your life that will love you so much than Lucas can. Be happy that Lucas will still accept you as a friend and always will be there for you. Wait for someone else," I advised her and her eyes light up, she gives me a hug. Her warm embrace felt like a warm hot chocolate on a cold day.
"I will always care about you Farkle."
"And I care about you too Riley."

"That doesn't explain everything Farkle, it only explains why you want Charlie out of my life. But what about why you couldn't accept it like Maya as a friend?" She states, her eyes filled with anger.
But then she asked one more question that triggers my heart, the one that I hoped to avoid.
"Why you said Riley and I love you when you were sleeping. I need the answer for that."
My heart inside of me was beating more faster, adrenaline racing fast and my mind was filled with flashbacks of my young love towards her.
Riley Matthews, how dare you make my heart beat for you like this.
Silence was only heard, for a few minutes I couldn't respond making her scoff at my quiet response.
"Wow, you can argue about me dating Charlie but you can't even explain why you said that. I'm just going to go." Riley says in shame.
'You can't even explain...'
Tell her...
As an instinct, my hands sat onto her waist and pull her towards me before she could even leave. Shock was flowing through her as that happened whilst her face was just centimetres away from mine.
"You wanna know why Riley?" My voice becomes husky as the words come out of my mouth, her eyes were locked into mine. My hands were still on her waist and she trapped in my embrace, as I make sure she wouldn't leave.
"Because you should have been mine."
But that sentence was the one that cleared everything up.
Quiet. All around us was just quiet. Her focus on me as mine was on hers.
"I've liked you for such a long time, even till now. And I know that I can treat you better than that cheater can ever Riley." I promised, hoping she'll forget the things I did to her.
"Farkle... What?" She says in shock, her head looks down but my fingers carefully brought her chin up to let her look into my eyes.
To see my love for her.
To know that what I'm saying is the truth.
"I love you. Liked I've always said in my dreams."
