Fear

Fear.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her into his bedroom.

She turned her head to see the man she came to the party with, staring after her.

The look in his eyes.. Sorrow? Pity? Hurt?

She stood in the centre of the room.

She didn't feel anything. No. She was past feeling.

To much shit had happened to this girl for her to fear anything.

The drugs she had smoked and the beer she had drank made her reflexes a little slow.

He told her a lame joke.

She smirked and rolled her eyes.

He said he wanted to play a game. A game called mercy.

"Then can I leave?" She sighed.

"Sure thing baby girl." He grinned. "You'll never beat me."

The girl loved a challenge. She hated being underestimated.

She knew in her heart she could never overpower the man.

But she needed to try. She needed to prove a point!

He took her hands.

He twisted.

She grinned at him as her bones groaned in response.

He looked confused. But impressed at her tolerance.

The pain within her was so much worse than any physical pain he could inflict.

"Let me go now?" She asked evenly, growing bored.

"Na. Not yet." He pushed her against the wall, his body so close to her small one.

She looked up at him.

She knew what would happen.

But yet, she wasn't scared.

He pulled away and showed her his hunting knife.

"It's sharp, see?" He held it against her throat.

She felt the blade. But she didn't feel the pain.

He pressed his body tighter against hers.

She knew if she showed fear, he would enjoy it.

So she stared into his eyes, her face blank.

He put the knife back and took her throat, his mouth going to ear.

He squeezed. He was choking her.

But did she move? No.

Did she cry? No.

Did it hurt? No.

Was she scared? No.

But she felt her walls closing in.

He was to close.

She didn't care he was about to rape and kill her.

He was just in her space.

She couldn't breathe.

The door opened and the man she came to the party with entered.

Her eyes locked on his.

He eyed the knife, turned and walked out, closing the door.

She needed to get out of his grip.

She was choking.

She hated it.

She took his hands in hers and smiled at him, manipulating him-it was what she was good at.

She backed him up and joked with him.

He eventually let her go, laughing.

He was trying to make her scared.

But he failed.

She hugged him, proving that she wasn't scared. Then she walked right out the room. Then out the house.

Five years later.

She still flinches when people touch her.

She can't handle anyone touching her neck.

It's not fear. No.

She doesn't fear.

She hates feeling helpless.

She was overpowered that night. He was a grown man, to strong for her.

But now, she's older.

She's tougher.

She's taught herself how to be strong.

She will never let anyone make her feel helpless again.

Fear is deadly.

Fear gets you killed.
