Rosalind's POV
I sat in the living room waiting for him, but he still hasn't come back from his run.
I finally see my dad and run over to him, "Dad! I think Clay might be in trouble! He went out for a run and hasn't come back!"
My dad's eyes widen before he takes me upstairs to his and mom's room, which is stupid since he should be going out to find Clay!
"Rose," he says closing the door. "Alpha Clayton didn't go for a run, he went away for awhile."
I pause, "What do you mean he went away for awhile?"
"I mean, he's left, I don't know how long for, but it was about something important." My dad tells me.
Clay didn't tell me or even say bye.
"Oh.. Okay." I say before going downstairs again.
*Two months after he left*
"Rose, come on let's go prank someone!" Alexa says grabbing my hand and starts pulling me towards the door.
"Okay." I say as we go outside.
I didn't prank anyone at all though, I just sat watching for a car to pull in with Clayton inside it.
*Six months after he left*
"Rose," my mom sighs. She walks over to me sitting on the portch in the cold winter air. "Come inside, it's getting late."
"Okay." I say as she walks back in.
I feel like he left because of me — like I did something wrong. I sigh and get up and go back inside the house.
*One year after he left*
"Rose get up, It's 1 pm. You can't sleep all day." My dad's voice says.
"No go away. I need more sleep, come back in a month."
I've become fond of sleep - you forget everyone and everything for awhile.
Helps me forget about Clay and his chocolate eyes.
*Five years after he left*
I smile at my boyfriend Ace while he walks over to me. He picks me up and spins me around.
"Hey there, put me down." I laugh, he puts me down and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my lips.
"Excited for your birthday next week?" He asks.
"Yea, I can't wait to shift!" I tell him.
I'll be turning sixteen which means I'm going to shift for the first time and I'll be able to find my mate.
But the thought of finding my mate makes me nervous.
I sigh and hide my face in Ace's strong chest. "What's wrong?" He asks me setting his fingers under my chin and pulling my face to look up at him.
"What if I find my mate right away?"
"Don't think about that darling, let's just be together for as long as we can." He gives me a reassuring smile. I nod in agreement and my dad walks in the living room. He stops when he sees us and growls.
"Ace, we need to work on your training."
Ace is going to become the next beta when my dad steps down. My dad has been training him and preparing him for it, but my dad isn't stepping down until Clayton comes back.
My dad then looks to me, "Same with you Rose."
Ace grabs my hand and we follow my dad to the training center. Ace and I are on different levels of training, since he is already a wolf, so we have different teachers.
My trainer is Brent Evans. He's only two years older than I am, but he is an amazing trainer. He sure as hell can win a fight too, probably because he was a rogue since he was three until he met us about four years ago.
He was able to join the pack and proved himself to be a great fighter.
"Hey Rose." He winks at me as I walk in our training gym.
I roll my eyes at him and smile, "So, what are we doing today?" I ask him as I walk past him to get my training gloves on so I don't break the skin on my knuckles. When I do so Brent comes up behind me and grabs my waist.
He pulls me against him and I turn around to face him. "What are you doing?" I ask.
He just smirks at me and whispers in my ear, "Something I should have done a long time ago."
He then leans down to kiss me but I move my head and push him away.
"What is with you today?"
He just smirks and I turn to leave the training gym quickly but he runs over and pins me against a wall before I can leave. I hit is chest with my fists and slap his face as he slides his hand up my shirt.
"Get off me!" I yell at him as I try to get away, but I don't have my wolf strength like he does so I'm kinda stuck.
He ignores me as he kisses my neck and rips my shirt to pieces so it is no longer on me. Before I knew it he now had me on the floor and he was trying to get my pants off me. I kicked him to get him off but failed miserably as he slapped my face.
That's when I started screaming for help.
Right when I thought I was going to be raped, the door flew off its hinges and Brent was pinned down on the ground getting punched multiple times by Clayton.
