(Y/n)'s POV:
I stood idly by, realizing what I've done to myself.
"Aaaaah.......fuck me...I blame this on Dora." I muttered to myself as I deadpan while looking at the room already filled with a handful of players with no sight of Isagi nor Bachira around. Though, there was in fact someone else here besides them. "Hm? Oh, it's Sonic." Nagi greeted as he came over to me on his own whilst dismissing Oreo's protest. I gladly returned the greeting, "Hey Weirdo. Good to see you here, I guess?" Nagi tilt his head, "Why do you keep calling me weirdo?" I simply shrug, "I like it. Plus, it suits you." Nagi stares at me, seemingly not comprehending my comment as he scratch his head.
Oreo decides to finally join our bible study, "You dare have the audacity to call him by such an insulting name?!" I shot him a smug smile, "Don't worry fellow companion, say no more, I have a nickname for you as well, grape juice-" Reo quickly cuts me off by getting all up in my face, "You- Don't you know who I am?! I am Mikage Reo!" we proceed to have a staring contest before I bluntly state, "Never heard of you. Never cared. Anyways, I'm (y/n), nice to meet you. Also, now that I know your name, I have a new nickname for ya. You, shall be the glorious and almighty, Oreo." I rest my hand on his shoulder like a sword resting upon a knight's shoulder to declare whatever that may be. He stares at me with disbelief, though it wasn't long before he start fuming in embarrassment. A snort escaped Nagi.
Before Reo could utter another word, Nagi beats him to it, getting closer to me and pretty much looming over my figure with his height to which I had to crane my neck to meet his eyes, "It's too much of a hassle to think why you called me a weirdo, but I'm Nagi Seishiro."
Nagi...Na....Sodium.
A snort escape me. He's basically Reo's Sodium.
"Nice to formally meet you, weird sodium." Nagi deadpan, "Now you're adding sodium?" I simply nodded. "In that case I'll stick with Sonic too." Nagi declared.
Reo grasp Nagi's wrist, "Let's go elsewhere. It's not as though she'd join us anyways-" Nagi whine, "But I wanna stay here. Going back now is a hassle..." Reo immediately knelt down, "Then I'll give you a piggy back ride-" Nagi whine once again, "Getting on your back is a hassle..." I could see Reo's patience running thin, but with Nagi's puppy eyes?? he finally caved in, "Fine!" Reo points at me almost accusingly, "Don't talk to me!"
"You're talking to me-"
"Hush!" I did a zipping motion across my lips.
For the next couple of minutes or so, the three of us just watch as more players comes in and since it has gotten a little boring, I decided to play a little game with Nagi. I choose to play slide which he never heard of apparently, so I briefly went over how the game work.
The first few times was a little rocky since he's getting a feel for it, but once he got it down, things quickly got heated and before we both knew it, we went at it with lighting speed. This didn't caught Reo's attention at first, but I guess something intrigued him because he eventually, and begrudgingly, wanted to give it a try and oh boy who knew he'd get just so competitive in slide just as he did with soccer.
My hand missed the mark thinking that it was 12 instead of 11, "Hah! You messed up! Victory is mine!" Reo bellowed in victory holding his head high while I clapped, "Congrats." Nagi pops in, "My turn now." Reo stops him, "Not yet. I'm only getting started. I still have 15 more wins to catch up to her." Nagi stuck his tongue out, "Boooo."
We continue on playing with me being impressed with Reo's tenacity to overcome our score gap and Nagi watching our intense match. Before long, I came out as the victor, smugly smiling at a pouting and frustrated Reo.
Nagi quickly jumps in, his body language showing he wants to play next, "My turn-" Giga Chad Isagi has entered the room, "...Dang it..." he said as though knowing this was the end of the game.
Isagi and mine's gaze met which lead me to promptly wave at him and he returns the gesture, as he did so, Bachira also made his appearance and the both of them high fived.
I left Nagi and Reo to reunite with my team mates. Bachira quickly notices me and soon ran up to greets me in an embrace along with a twirl, "You actually made it (y/n)! This is perfect!" he sets me down but still hugging me as he proceed to rub his cheek against mine like an excited doggo to which I ruffle his hair, "There there. I'm here now Meguru." Isagi approaches us, "Will you team up with us?" Isagi asked although I'm sure he knew my obvious answer, "Of course you silly billy." we prop up as sign of our alliance.
The two decided to go over who'll take the last spot. Isagi suggested either Chigiri or Kunigami. Whilst they agreed to pick whoever came out first, I took notice of Nagi coming our way, "Here comes the weird sodium guys." my statement caught their attention as they look over said person.
"Hey, Isagi Yoichi." Nagi mentions extending a hand, "Won't you team up with us? This goes out to you too, (y/n). We like your company. Come to our team." oh, that took me by surprise. I didn't thought I'm worthy as a player to get picked. "Hey! I never said I liked her company! That aside, I get why you want her on our team but...this guy?" Nagi promptly reply, "Yup. He was the most amazing in our match, after all. I want to try playing soccer with him." Reo's eyes widens ever so slightly.
Despite the invitation, Isagi rejected it. "Yeah, no thanks. As much as I liked playing slide with you both, I'm sticking with these two." and so did I because you know what, if I can't get out of here, I might as well make the most of it. Also I've gotten attached to these adorable idiots here, so I can't bear to watch them going at this alone.
Although Nagi offer was declined, he was "determined" to play with him no matter what, "....I see... Got it...Then, I'll...join your team, Isagi." this in turn shocked the duo, "That'll be fine, right?" since the two cinnamon rolls won't respond, I decided to voice my opinion, "I don't see why not. You have exceptional skills." Nagi hummed as a thanks.
Nagi's choice stirred some tension between him and Reo and it turned into a soap opera. Not long after, Isagi accepts Nagi's self invitation.
With Bachira finally releasing me from his hug, he, along with Isagi, went over the door. "See ya Reo. I'll be waiting ahead." Nagi said following the two.
Seeing Reo's down casted expression, I couldn't help but say something, "It sure sucks when things doesn't go your way doesn't it, Reo?" Reo head slowly looks at me, "It's something that's bound to happen no matter what. It's inevitable. But my question to you, is if you will fight for your dreams? Or are you going to feel sorry for yourself because Nagi isn't by your side?" I turn my back on him, "You want him back? Get back at us? Then fight to get him back and show us your fire." I left him with those words as I went to join the others, entering a rather dark hall.
While we walking towards our next destination, with me at the very back, Meguru started a small talk, "We're counting on you, Nagi." he said as he nudge him with his elbow. I slap Nagi's back, sending him forward a bit, "Ye man! No pressure, weird sodium!" Nagi sigh, "What a hassle..."
"Reo looked a bit sad over there. Don't tell me you're actually cold-hearted?" Bachira stated and I join in by swinging an arm around him which made him grin as he hook his arm around my waist whilst I speak my next words to Nagi, "Yeah. Are you? Oreo basically looked heartbroken. I honestly almost felt bad for him. You guys are like best bud, right? Don't you feel lonely without him?" I inquired at the end out of genuine curiosity. He shrug his shoulders, "Eh. I'd be lying if I said I'm not feeling lonely without him..."
I face Bachira with an awestruck expression as I squeeze him to emphasize my next point, "Awww he cares Meguru!" we both giggle with Isagi giggling along as well all the while Nagi remains stoic.
"Anyways-" Nagi begin, "-That aside. I may feel lonely, but this side seemed more exciting." this prompt us to glance at Nagi's way, "Following the "ego" is the correct way, right? "Blue lock" is that kind of place." Then silence ensues. Although, it didn't last long as Isagi then extend a fist towards Nagi, "Nagi, I'm counting on you too." Nagi imitate the same gesture, "Yep, same here." And then they bro it out.
With the arm around Bachira's shoulders, I quickly ruffle his hair, eliciting a short yelp, before moving away and passing Nagi with a pat on the shoulder, "Looking forward to play with you, Weirdo! Don't let us down!" I then felt a hand chop the back of my head and I knew immediately that it was Nagi, "I should be the one saying that. Your mistake in our last game almost cost your team the game." I wave my hand in a dismissive manner, "Pssh, that's in the past now. If anything, this time around we'd going to win for sure." I said confidently but inside my head.
Yeah, not gonna happen. Especially with the edgelord in tow. It's a nope.
"Of course! We're the strongest, aren't we?~" Bachira assert some moral support, "See? Even Meguru has more faith in me than you." I pointed out as Nagi's imaginary puppy ears droops, "I have faith in you..."
Okay, now you're making me feel bad you son of a bi-
"Let's go." our banter came to a stop once Isagi utter those words and just as he said those words, the boys immediately turns serious.
And we walk into the sunset~
